To be perfectly honest, as an Australian, I believe if we had an Evil Pokemon team, their base would probably just be bunch of tin roofed sheds linked together with tarps.
+Hawkatana HELL YES. But my local area's got more roundabouts than Canberra. Which is quite sad. What would the league be? Parliament house? The gallery? Questacon? Questacon xD yes.
Acacia: "Look over there! Right there, that's an Arbok, one of the most venomous snakes on all the planet. One bite and I'm gone! ...I'm gonna pick it up." *Hisses* "HE'S ANGRY"
RainbowDash19997 - They have been for a long time, you’re not entirely wrong, but after the First Fleet lead by Captain Cook from Britain lands, they brought a lot of animals not found in Australia, including Dingos, and after the dingo population dwindled in England, they’re now only found in Australia, so they are indigenous to Australia as of now, but they aren’t originally from it. I’m an Australian, don’t believe one single article on the internet.
Awesomesnowycool Congratulations! You learn where Dingos are originally from, and thatpeople in comment sections can be incredibly tenacious. Now go watch a different video.
As an Aussie, this is my life and I love it. You did amazing with making my country proud, it's not often you see someone talk about all the parts of Australia that aren't dangerous. Also, just a bit of help: Melbourne: Pronounced "Melben", and Brisbane: Pronounced "Brizben"
For all non-Australians... Melbourne is pronounced Mel-Ben, Canberra is pronounced can-bra and Brisbane is pronounced bris-Ben. (Also cairns is pronounced cans)
_what if the elite four is the whole Irwin family_ His kids are all grown up now,his son is pretty much doing what his dad did. The personality seems to be in the DNA
As an aussie I'm really happy you acknowledged the fact that we don't just have deserts. But I feel like you could've added more...like The Great Dividing Range(its a huge mountain range the stretches from Victoria to Queensland.) and maybe you could've added some more towns in Victoria such as Sale.(its not that big though) its the first city of Gippsland which is a big area in Victoria. Those were just suggestions but I really liked your ideas. Good job mate! :)
I agree for fossil Pokémon there should be something that resembles the Tasmanian Tiger resembles Muttaburra saurus and whatever prayer/creatures or things like Tasmanian Tiger that went extinct either along time ago or extinct recently as fossil Pokémon for Australia so like whatever Pressler creatures that were found here in Australia and nowhere else things like Megalovania or short face kangaroo and prostrate crocodiles and wombats anything that was their boyfriend in Australia and no one else should be that are extinct I think should be a fossil Pokémon . also I’m seeing a few word mistakes and spelling mistakes so I’m not gonna go back through them but I really hope you can understand what I’m saying and give him and this was all done by the speech thing
So, dark type emu, in a museum it could reference an "Emu War" in the Pokemon version of that it could be, *ahem* The Emu's could've been eatin' up all of the berry bushes, so the government would've sent a group of old-timey trainers to use Pokemon 4-ever type pokeballs to catch all the emu's, but they all caught only 200-250 emu's, so the emu's could be the starting bird type of route 1, and it could also be the region's zubat.
Team Noble actually makes much more sense as an evil team when you consider that Australia was used as a prison continent they sent exiles to, and even after these men were free, they still got suffocated by the land-cheating high society. But then, I'm just rambling half-asleep what I remember hearing on the Ned Kelly series on Extra History, so what do I know?
TheMustardMan8 yeah you're pretty much right, Australia was used in the past as a place where England could send convicts to, I forgot what happened to them if and when they get released/ escaped from the barracks and stayed in Australia
Galar seems cool and all but with each passing day I find myself feeling more and more sad knowing I might never see an official Australia pokemon region
The majority of Australia is forest, bush, swamps/marsh, mountains and farm land. The middle of Australia is mostly desert and rock but not like the stereotypical deserts like in USA and Egypt.
Here are some more regional forms: Australian Swanna: Dark-Water(Black Swan) Australian Pikachu: Ground (Bilby) Australian Seviper: Ghost-Ground (Rainbow Snake/Serpent) Australian Starmie: Poison-Water (Crown of Thorns)/Australian Corsola: Fire-Water(Coral)[Thes two represent the bleaching/death of coral] Just a thaught.
+YT "doesn't use Aussie capitals much at all" Proceeds to use Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, and Hobart. That's all but one - Darwin. You tried.
I’m actually surprised that people are complaining about his pronunciation. He apologized for it and that should be it. No one is perfect and it’s his version of a speculative region based on Australia. Of course he is going to choose specific areas that stood out to him.
You should do a video based on Scandinavia (Norway, Sweden and Denmark). Like with the Greece video, you could base the gym leaders and Pokemon off Norse mythology. You can use a ferry from Norway to Denmark, which could act as a Battle area/fronter or something. And also base the locations on some of all the amazing places across the region, with the fjords of Norway, Windmills of Denmark, and also the largest cities. You also get more extreme climates up north, where you need warm clothing, or a fire Pokemon walking with you (letting Pokemon walk with you, or use as ride or assistant Pokemon must return). Maybe have the evil team based on the native soumi people, or maybe Vikings? New Pokemon could be based on something like reindeer, moose, polarbears, foxes, whales, seagulls. And maybe base the Main legendary Pokemon on the Fenris wolf? The wolf that swallowed the moon in norse mythology. And caused ragnarok. Lot of stuff to work on here.
Finland is not Scandinavian, but they are Nordic, which would also include Iceland and maybe Faroe Islands. There could be a region based on the Nordics, but I think it would be waaaay to large. But it could work too
SimonSarka1 That's true, but I was thinking mostly the main Scandinavian countries. you could also include Svalbard and Maudland (South Pole) and Jan Mayen. But I don't think it would be likely, maybe Svalbard has the best possibility to become some sort of battle island?
Personally I don't think size would be an issue for including Finland and Iceland along side Scandinavia in a single region as Australia is at least 4 times bigger than those five combined. (And still twice as big if you were to include Greenland which I doubt would get included.) At least Iceland has to be included because I feel like its mixture of volcanoes and ice could be used for a great effect.
Australia would be a great region, so much diversity to work with. - Love the big desert area - Be cool if you could actually dive around the Great barrier reef - There so many cool new pokemon you could create just to do with the regions animals alone - Professor Irwin is also a must
I love the story you came up with! My ideas: -a fossil pokemon based on the thylacine -an evolution for the wombat pokemon that looks like the extinct giant wombat -an hp stealing move that looks like a boomerang being thrown -a super rare pokemon based on a panther. (There have been a bunch of sightings of them in real life) -a dark type magpie pokemon (or maybe a regional variant) that swoops you from above -A poison/grass type pokemon based on the gimpy gimpy tree -when you visit the melbourne based city, the weather changes super quickly
ok, but that is not my point, as far as I know, emus are the only animal in the world that have "won" a war. I was not commenting on why or how they "won" the war but rather that they were classified as not dangerous. The comment itself was a joke, they don't seem very dangerous.
This was great. Using Steve Irwin as the basis for the professor was both heartwarming, and hilarious, even for someone like me who only saw him a little bit. Not only that, but it fits into your chosen overall theme perfectly. And with the nature of Australia, well, stars just aligned, didn't they? I love it when that happens, don't you? As far as Team Noble, you didn't mention it, but you probably already know this from research, but Australia was initially used as a penal (prison) colony. That fact actually fits perfectly into the chosen these with Team Noble restraining/imprisoning dangerous Pokemon. Just wanted to mention that since it didn't come up, and it could be part of the region's history, somehow. I don't know. Oh, and a slight critique on the artist. Great designs from your artist, though I think the Princess needs adjustment. The crown blends in with her hair a bit too much IMO. For a second, I wasn't sure what the crown was. Since the Prince's crown is the same color, either both crowns probably should have been a different color, or the Princess's hair needed to be a different color. About Regional Komala. I like the idea (even if it freaks me out), but I think you hit a snag here. You wanted regular Komala to be a staple here, right? That's all well and good, but it presents a problem having both regular _and_ the Pokestralia variant there, as the regular ones, if they're native, should have adapted into the regional form, should they not? So what gives? There are a few solutions: Either have the regional Komala only live in a very isolated area where their population could develop differently (fitting the real science behind regional variations), or let the regular Komala be a recent import (thus not adapted). As an extension of the second, you could make the Alolan Komala the one that varied. As in, the Dark type Komala was the original one, it got imported to Alola, and adapted into the Alolan form for whatever reason. If you're going for black widows for a Joltik variant, personally, I would have preferred a black widow design featuring their iconic red hourglass (on the females anyway). Also, considering how black widows are, their balanced gender ratio would need to be tilted heavily toward the females. I guess I'm not entirely sold on making a regional variant of Joltik be a black widow vs an original Pokemon. Other than that, I loved the other Pokemon designs. Had no idea of the prehistoric platypus (though you should have also taken into account that platypi have poisonous barbs, not saying they need to be poison type, but that should probably be in there too). Singer is a very smart new ability, and I liked that you used the Rainbow Serpent. But if I may offer some ideas? I was a little disappointed that you included Tasmania but didn't make a Tasmanian Devil Pokemon. Seemed like a missed opportunity there. You could also use a living boomerang Pokemon. XD Maybe cliche, but hey, it's unique to Australia and it could be interesting to work out, maybe getting a steel edge as it evolves? Another possible source for a very scary Pokemon is the Australia cryptid the bunyip, a very scary, man-eating, water monster of various descriptions. I can't really explain it here, but if you're interested in a good source to learn, try "Tales from Australia: The Bunyip [Creepypasta Reading]" by Scribbler Productions here on YT. She did her research and she does a really good reading too. Sorry for the rambling long thoughts, but that's all I have to say.
I agree with everything Fox has said especially about the platypus. Given it's only males that have the poisonous barb it would probably be more appropriate to include it as an ability as Fox suggested. I would also like to add that basing a grass-type bird pokemon on a cassowary would probably make more sense as they live in the rain forest whereas emus live in the more arid areas of Australia so either rock or fire might be more appropriate. And given doduo/dodrio are based on ostriches and are still flying types why couldn't the other flightless birds retain that as a typing? Not sure cacnea and cacturn are great for the region as cactii are not native to Australia. We do have some similar plants which get mistaken as cactii though so maybe regional variants or a new pokemon?
True that the professor could be a Steve Irwin like character with a famous Gumtree like name however Steve Irwin came for the East not west. Plus you get way better towns starting towns in the east.
Also also to correct fox again, Australia wasn't just a prison colony lmao. Australia also had free settlers. Australia was used as for many thing but Convicts were not imprisoned in Australia. They were sent to Australia to work.
As an Australian, I have to say, you definitely do your research! I am from West Australia, so seeing a lot of the small details you included for the starting few routes and towns was very nice.
I feel like you missed a great opportunity to have a tasmanian devil pokemon and a mythical tasmanian tiger pokemon that are only available on Tasmania. It would make a great motivation for people to go there. There are also plenty of old castles there, it would be interesting if perhaps it was revealed that the tasmanian tiger going extinct had something to do with Team Noble, and maybe you free the last remaining one from their lair. Just a thought. Great video.
while i really enjoyed the ideas you had for the region i have one thing that kind of bugged me in the port headland town. there is an Australian legend that takes place near that area where a red kelpie dog who would wander the desert areas outside of the town. he was very friendly with the people who lived near there and he became quite popular spawning a few books and then years later 2 movies adapted on the books story. even after Red dog passed the people of the town had a statue placed in the town of Dampier to honour his legend, the statue is still there today. I would think that a Pokemon representation of red dog would be a really cool tribute to his legend maybe make him a mythical Pokemon and act as a roaming Pokemon.i feel that this Pokemon would have a connection to wild Pokemon and act as a guardian that now only shows itself to a human it can really trust. of course this is the main character and the Pokemon presents itself to the player due to their strong bond to their Pokemon. if you would want to know more about red dog i would suggest to watch it its a really good movie. other than that detail that i thought would be cool. i really did like this video and the ideas were really creative. :)
Ok to go with your idea man what if the red dog mythical trusted us so much it became a party member towards the middle or end of the story? Another thing i thought would be cool is that with the red dog mythical Since we're be going to the pokemon league we'd ultimately would become champion and have to as our duty help protect wild pokemon from like poachers. Or have the Champion we face off have it instead to go with that idea and once we became champion he;d gift it to us?
As an Australian myself, I have a few things to add, Mainly two larger cities which are also rather important, or more important than some areas you mentioned. The first city I want to mention is Newcastle is just north of Sydney and is famous for its coal industry, in fact it exports the most coal out of any port in the world. This coal is mainly harvested in the Hunter Region near the Hunter River. From this city, you could have gone through one of the mines and travel through the cave system, from it. Between Newcastle and Sydney could be a more plain open field style of route as it is neither a mountainous area, rain forest like area or a dry desert. The second city I want to mention is the Gold Coast, it is mainly famous as a major tourist attraction area, it could have been easily been at the exit/entrance to the cave once you leave as close by the city is the hinterland which has many caves and rock formations, the area is also very similar to a rain-forest and could act as a major contrast from where you go into the cave/mine in rolling hills and leave the cave in a place which is lush jungle. This lush jungle like area would be rather short and will give way to the city, becoming less dense as you come closer to it. The city itself is mainly built around its tourism industry and its extremely scenic coast and beaches. It would fit the whole casino, nightlife and hotel them much better than Cairns, as unlike Cairns it actually has these things in real life. further more, there could be a location just south of the city or just in the southern area of the city, could be an area based on the areas like Coolangatta, Kirra and Burleigh, which are mainly known for their surfing culture and the world renown surf break in the area. This area could be a kind of pokemon reserve to catch certain pokemon like Alolan Raichu, Wingull and Buizel which could fit in the whole surf culture of this area. As for the route to go from the Gold Coast to Brisbane, you could go north and take a partial water route based on the North and South Stradbroke islands and Morton island, you would enter the route from surfing over the broad-water which separates the islands and the mainland and then landing on the shore of the isles, there would be three isles with small amounts of water separating them, the final island which will be based on Morton island, will be very close to Brisbane and it would be possible to take a short surf from the island to the mouth of the Brisbane river. In regards to Tasmania, it would make much more sense for it to be accessed via Melbourne, rather than Adelaide as Melbourne is where the ferry which connects Tasmania to the main land is located.
Just a guess? Originally yes. Newcastle died in the 80s they’ve tried to revive it a few times but it seems to insist on being a badly done effort and never takes, stay any longer than the weekend and you will be bored bogan.
I really, *REALLY* want an Australia-inspired region. It would make me feel more at home than Johto, which was my first experience with Pokémon via Silver. And you making a Professor based off the great late Steve Irwin is just amazing. Knowing GAME FREAK, they won't do that if they do make an Australia-inspired region, but I won't be mad if the Professor isn't based off him.
I noticed that the professor and king have some similarities to the legendaries. Their views on the safety of pokemon- The professor looked at what happened LOGICALLY, and the King reacted Emotionally (as one would do IF A POKEMON KILLED THEIR SISTER) and decided that all strong pokemon are dangerous
Another fossil Pokémon you could’ve done for this region could’ve been one to represent the thylacine (aka the Tasmanian tiger) as it is actually extinct today as well, so it would be cool to see it again but as a strong and rare Pokémon. *edit- omg I've never had this many likes before thx so much!!! ;3*
Don't Subscribe to me Yes it is they’ve owned 1/3 of the franchise since the first game. They own it along with Game Freak and Creatures. Also Nintendo owns the intellectual property that is Pokémon, so saying it’s not theirs is like saying COD isn’t an activision series because Treyarch and other companies manufacture the game.
This may not be part of the subject, I'm an Australian Indigenous and my Nana has told me that when people take a piece of Ularu they'll get bad luck when they bring it to their home country and that could be in the game that Spiritomb should be
Reggie_bringit That could work. They were able to make Meowstic have different stats with its genders. I don't think types would be that much harder to program.
It would be really cool if you could get the Johto starters, similar to how Kalos gave you the Kanto starters, because Totodile and Cyndaquil are both based off of pokemon that can be found in Australia (well, Totodile EVOLVES into a gator at least), and Chikorita for some reason reminds me of a cactus.
Please make MEXICO, one of the most amazing and biodiverse countries in the world, full of culture, drastic change of landscapes, mythology, story, references understood around the world. You can also connect it to your US regions!
Though I'm from Australia, I've been wanting a region based off Mexico for a while because it would be so interesting. It would also be really cool to get a mythical based off an Alebrije! And Axolotls live in Mexico, so a pokemon based off it would instantly be my favourite.
Lucas Kane - what do you think the starter pokemon would be? I keep coming up with a fire breathing bandicoot, but obviously you'll know your wildlife better than me what are your thoughts? thanks
Thomas Jones For a fire pokemon, I'm thinking there could be a fire type koala. They're small but they can be very dangerous, maybe they can evolve into a drop bear.
I would say water could be a seal, but that already happened, so, my next best idea would be a penguin, but that already exists as well, so I got nothing.
I love how in depth this is! Gives me a lot of inspiration for my own region based off a country I’m working on. Lots of cool ideas and fun ways of looking at the real world!
YAY! Another Steve Irwin fan! I grew up with him. He was my... Hero, for lack of a better word, and he still is. Thank you for making him a pivotal character!
This video is soo good! well done dude, I'm Australian and i totally approve! You put a lot of thought and consideration into everything and did your research. I want an Australian region so bad now :)
i feel like it would be so cool if Lyredala could talk to humans as well due to a lyrebird's mimicking ability. i know pokemon don't really talk in the games much but it would add to the plot (awesome plot btw) by having a pokemons view on the matter, maybe helping people to see that they have feelings and EMOTIONS too
5:57 he said there’s lots to do in Perth for all those who have been to Perth you will know that the three photos you see is about the only attractions you will find in Perth
Mr. buddy, I know this may be somewhat impossible, but how about a PREHISTORIC region? I would love to see the water starter that is based off of a spinosaurus.
adam alexander I always wanted a main Pokémon game where the Professor is an archaeologist researching fossil Pokémon and the protagonist is a kid on a field trip that gets to visit the dig site. The evil organization attempts to revive a fossilized Pokémon that is said to form the entire crust underneath the region (similar to Namazu in Japanese folklore). The main character and his/her friends join the professor in stopping the evil team from developing a machine that's strong enough to revive said legendary. This could not only expand the number of fossil Pokémon, but bring back the Underground from Sinnoh and makes a great opportunity to have another Genesect event.
This is going to be SO good for post-game. You should be a Game Freak employee. 1. You are so creative and have a good layout for every region. 2. I want this NOW.
No, potions should be heavily discounted. And if you visit the Pokemon Centre, you get bulk billed but sometimes the receptionist screws up and suddenly you don't have any money.
I know you're getting a lot of these, but this really tickled my home-grown Australian side. I see a lot of this beautiful country I call home, so I really reckon you nailed it on the head with a lot of stuff, and clearly there's more to be added that you couldn't quite talk about, I had a few ideas that I've also compiled with the comments. If I remember more, I might keep adding them: 1. I feel like we need a lot more Aboriginal rich things, like an Aboriginal gym leader, and their myths and legends and references to Dreamwalking because it's as big of what this country is and how it was formed. A lot of our naturally formed rocks and landscapes all have some legend tied so them, so I reckon that would be interesting to incorporate in too 2. Being inspired by the European settlers for the enemy team was a really cool idea, and one I enjoy, but if I'm being honest, the real war that's happening is between the burbians (suburban dwellers) and bush-wackers (bogans) 3. Like I said with point 1, we need just that little bit more in touch with our country's history because it's so harsh and awesome. Ned Kelly needs at least a reference, like a worn statue of a man in a tin outfit in Melbourne, and even a section along the Rabbit-Proof Fence needs to have nothing but rabbit-themed pokemon like Buneary and Lobunny. 4. In terms of Pokemon that are region-native, it's really cool what you've gathered thus far. I suggest building others from Bilbies, Kookaburras, Pink Galas, Wedgie-eagle (could be a rare one, as they're becoming endangered I believe), Blue-tongued lizards, Possums, Yabbies, and, believe it or not, camels. We have camels living in the desert. I do appreciate the Lyrebird and the Rainbow Serpent as Legendaries 5. In terms of explorable lands, you've not only got thick rain-forest like landscapes, like along the Great Dividing Range, but between the cities and the deserts there's a lot of bushland, dams, clay pans, abandoned or old flood channels that never get used, rice or general food fields and the like. I reckon they would be cool to explore. 6. I really hope they start dropping names of routes like "Route 1" or "Route 7" because I reckon for an Australian-themed region you can name certain roads after actual awesome tracks. You got off-road ones like "Googs Track" and then in the mountains you've got the "High Country", then all the highways being "Sturt Hwy", "Calder Fwy", "Great Ocean Road" etc. I'm mostly limited to what I know in the East, however
Hey man, I'm an Australian and really loved some of these ideas. Many parts of it were well-thought out and studied, but I just wanna add a couple notes :D An evolution for Pygoxin could be a blue-tongue lizard.. it grows four legs during its only evolution and its tongue darkens whilst maintaining a similar snake-like body aesthetic of the original Pygoxin - could be named Tilixin (tiliqua, scientific name, and toxin). I also love the idea of Dhakkolor being based off the Rainbow Serpent, indigenous Australians would have known the first Pokemon in the region - ie. legendaries would all be based off dreamtime legends. As the Rainbow Serpent is often known for creating rivers/other similar bodies of water and rock formations (eg. Katherine Gorge) then it's Pokemon counter-part could also be known for something similar.. Maybe it was the first Pokemon in Australia and carried with it lots of little micro-organisms (or maybe just Pokemon in general, those being much, much smaller than Dhakkolor as that could be massive as per legend, therefore making the colours on Dhakkolor as tiny Pokemon therefore it always has with it some buddies lol) and it carved its way through rock, forming rivers, mountains, valleys, etc. whilst leaving these organisms/Pokemon scattered throughout the country, which later grew and evolved into the vastly different Pokemon found in Australia's (based) region. Once the region was filled with pokemon and the land was finished, Dhakkolor just went away to chill (maybe only coming back to aid with stopping of Team Noble). With the Australian versions (like Alolan) they will have, over time, also evolved to match these harsh conditions, for example like the Australian-version Geodude evolution line. Another idea could be the use of the Tasmanian Tiger (which is now extinct in real life), that could be a legendary or pseudo-legendary, I'd imagine it could be a fire-type at least, possibly found in Tasmania in a part only unlockable after beating the elite four (maybe like Type: Null/Silvally)..
I would have gone with a fossil pokemon based on a megalania a 20 ft long prehistoric relative of the monitor lizard and a marsupial lion both animals from prehistoric Australia a tympole regional counterpart based on Tiddalik
Also, if the Prof. is based off Steve Irwin (R.I.P), he'd need to have his lab at Australia Zoo, which is in Queensland, just a ways away from Brisbane. Awesome concepts though.
I think a lot of us who live in Tasmania aren't so sure that the thylacine is extinct. A section of the game where the player adventures into the South-West National Park to find the thylacine would be awesome.
Sasha Hardey yay I love those i say it on wildcrats with my kids they are awesome they could run all day in a sort of lumbering trot and had massive jaws they could open really wide to imtimadat enemy's and we're about as big as wolf's.
YOOOO so i'm Australian and i think this is probably the best fan-made production ever, but like you said with the legendary pokemon representing Logic and Emotion, my mind instantly went to Ethos, the more ethical side which could represent the third legendary as a man-made pokemon by team noble. This of course would mean that Team Noble was successful in their plan for the first game, however, a sequel that touches on the Ethos pokemon would be amazing. this does however seem very touche as it could derive from the kyurem games (black 2 & white 2) This could also bring Aristotle as another N-like figure
The Pokemon Company really needs to hire you and the artists Such amazing ideas, but maybe they will need to come up with new names for your region though. I can already imagine me playing the game Keep up the good work.
Also make it the generation to buff ice types (or at least kind of?) by reversing the relationship between Water and Ice, (which would also help nerf Water type) I mean Ice type isn't really just frozen water, it accounts for low temperatures too, and how do most fish fair in the frigid cold, not too well. Sure most of the logic of its weakness comes from ice melting in water, but really, Ice would work better mechanically with the alternative logic.
Pretty awesome concept. Interesting location choices, brilliant region layout, love the character and location designs. Would be great to have seen more. Although honestly, Team Noble is a little off for the region for a couple of reasons. It can get bloody hot here in Australia, especially in the summer months so those grunts in their medieval armour would be dying of heat stroke before they accomplished anything in the desert areas. A duke and duchess theme for the villains would mesh with the colonial history Australia has rather than a royalty theme, which screams England. The king (and queen) being the Professor's parents rather than a brother makes a little more sense given the age difference between them. A parent's love and grief for their child tragically taken away can be a powerful motivator. Last nitpick - Emu is pronounced eem-you
The professor could actually be the son of a professor who died during his exploration which is based on Robert Irwin and his dad, Steve Irwin after he passed away. Add more new regional pokemon and give other regional forms with a distinct story line and this could be an awesome region to explore. I wish GF made a region based on my country ( yes, I'm Australian).
Shiny Sylveon I feel like Nintendo probably wouldn't want any of their characters to be based off of real life tragic events that happened to real people. Could possibly cause them legal issues if the Irwin family didn't like it.
Okay, I’ve got an idea: two different dlc regions based on Christmas Island and New Caledonia/Vanuatu. Christmas Island would be very much like the isle of armour, taking a few new Pokémon that could actually be based on Indonesian culture. Speaking of the isle of armour, I feel like the normal region could have the National Park Jungle you mentioned be the wild area. New Caledonia and Vanuatu could have two cities based on their capitals, and have most, if not all, of the area be ocean. Perhaps having underground glass enclosures for traveling and scuba diving to enter the wild area. This would also mean that you might encounter Kalosian people on vacation on New Caledonia.
I feel you missed two great animals to base Pokémon off of. The Quokka, an incredibly cute animal only found on an island off of Perth, called Rots Nest. The other is the Cassowary, probably the meanest and scariest bird in the world, like a smaller blue Emu w/ a crest on its head, with talons that can literally gut a man. But the rest were really good. Also the platypus like Pokémon should have something to do with electroreception which is something only the Platypus can do, within the mammal family.
No one really knows if the Tasmanian Tiger is extinct at all due to unconfirmed sightings and all that, oh and aussie i think you mean the tasmanian tiger and not the devil
Hmmm, for legendary, I was thinking along the lines of Aboriginal Dream Time stories, like the Rainbow Serpent, and the mythical pokemon could be bunyips. I feel like there's loads of inspiration in the Dream Time.
I love what you've done with the region, and I have my own suggestions for it as well! 34:15 Given how you said the Legendary pokemon as well as the queen's full team, I'd assume that's 7 pokemon. Perhaps you could take a leaf out of Greevil's book from Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness? 38:21 Since Golem already has a regional variant in Alolan Golem, perhaps it could be a Ryperior regional variant with crystals for horns instead, or a Gigalith regional form since it already has crystals integrated with its design. Either way, I love the concept of a crystal pokemon! 40:41 I like the idea of an ability that enhances kicking moves, but an accuracy bonus is not only a bit underwhelming but negates the risk-reward element of moves like High Jump Kick. Instead of that, maybe you could have an ability along the lines of Strong Jaw that enhances the damage of kicking moves?
I really like your ideas, but I do have a couple of small nitpicks 1. I know you apologised for it, but I thought I'd let you know anyway, the correct pronunciations are emyu (emu), melbn (Melbourne), cans (Cairns), canbra (Canberra), brisbn (Brisbane) and Albany is pronounced with the a from apple 2. Uluru is a scared ground, so you can't climb it so that's both a point for and against your legendary idea 3. Tasmania is not just an island, it's a state on its own, but I understand what you were going for Anther idea I had is that seasons could emulate those in the southern hemisphere rather than northern hemisphere since they seem to mimic the northern hemisphere (as far as I can tell) for the other games I personally feel like there needs to be a third legendary which represents compromise or balance, but I have no idea how that would be shown as a Pokemon... I also think that there needs to be a reference to the bunyip too, especially if there's a reference to drop bears! An echidna would be good too...
lazboi123456789 yes as a fellow aussie, i noticed these things too. i mean, some places like uluru is understandable to not know the historic backround but still most of the ideas in this game is very creative and accurate. good work! :)
Could not agree more ^^ Hopefully I didn't come off as critical, I just wanted to note those small things Either way, this is still a way better concept than I could've come up with!

"Emus aren't dangerous"
That's what the human soldiers in the Emu War thought, and look what happened
it should be part of their lore HAHAHA
decisive emu victory
Maybe in an alternate timeline where we had Pokemon instead of machine guns, we might not have lost
Matt Norris you think pokemon are the humans ally? We merely adopted the pocket monsters, the emus were born with them, molded by them.
WAR TO THE EMUS!!!
To be perfectly honest, as an Australian, I believe if we had an Evil Pokemon team, their base would probably just be bunch of tin roofed sheds linked together with tarps.
Stormrider1138 Team Bogan?
Stormrider1138 oh my god that would be hell funny in the game

Perhaps for a second fossil-based Pokemon, it could be based on the Tasmanian Tiger or the Marsupial Lion from ancient Australia?

Maybe why not 3 or 4 fossils, to make this a unique region?
Lions should be from an Africa reagion
They could be there legendary

For the starters a water/poison platypus. A grass/fighting kangaroo. And a fire/dark dingo
Don’t know if you knew this but Dingos are actually British.
Look it up.
Shazy Bean I just looked it up and dingoes are native to Australia.
Look it up
RainbowDash19997 - They have been for a long time, you’re not entirely wrong, but after the First Fleet lead by Captain Cook from Britain lands, they brought a lot of animals not found in Australia, including Dingos, and after the dingo population dwindled in England, they’re now only found in Australia, so they are indigenous to Australia as of now, but they aren’t originally from it.
I’m an Australian, don’t believe one single article on the internet.
Awesomesnowycool
Congratulations! You learn where Dingos are originally from, and thatpeople in comment sections can be incredibly tenacious.
Now go watch a different video.
First of all dingo only dark kangaroo fair keep same types but platypus only water they becom stronger being all 2 types
Ayy my Aussie brother

God bless Australia, I love your country so much and I can’t wait to visit it again 😁
Don’t forget CANBRA
I think the Legendary Pokémon would be Ghost-type due to spiritual lands such as Uluru, and/or the rainbow snake from the dreamtime stories.
Dreamtime stories have so much potential for cool legendaries
And the bird should be pshic sense it messs with emotions EEEEE I CANT SPELL
As an Australian, I agree. That's the best idea I've seen in the comment section!
What about Tidalik? I mean, if the Rainbow Snake creates rivers, it's counterpart could be something that drinks all of the rivers.
@@DarthMolgy Yes That would be awesome!!

For all non-Australians...
Melbourne is pronounced Mel-Ben, Canberra is pronounced can-bra and Brisbane is pronounced bris-Ben. (Also cairns is pronounced cans)
It's not really pronounced like Mel-Ben or Bris-Ben though, more like Mel-B'n and Bris-B'n because you don't really say the "E" in the Ben
Toothie Tooth you’re 100% right mate
Melbourne is more like Mel-burn
Can-Bruh
Nah it's brisbin and melbin, also he pronounced emu wrong as well it's not e moo it's e mew
The elite four would be Scomo, Albanese, Petter Dutton and Pauline Hanson
Champion could be Robert Irwin or his family
Harry Ranga The Loser scomo the team leader
SaltySeb “Team Government! Leader: Scomo!”
Yep
_what if the elite four is the whole Irwin family_
His kids are all grown up now,his son is pretty much doing what his dad did.
Ew, Sale 🤮
Gippsland could be combined into a single smaller town
Lakes Entrance would be cool too
or maybe add some aquatic pokemon as you know Australia has the largest reef in the world
I know everyone seems to think were just a giant baron red dessert
I wish you made the Tasmanian tiger as a fossil Pokémon
Mutaburrasaurus
SAMe
If Aus was a region Tasmania whould probably be post game
Thats a good idea! :O
For one of the fossils you could have a Tasmanian tiger
you know they became extinct like 70 years ago right
Dodo bird!!

Two things:
Emus are mean
Kangaroos have more powerful fists..
When a friend from outside the country comes to Australia and sees a Emu, I wanna say “ Careful, we lost a war to those things “
Why must my dirty mind go off right now...
We have emus at our school they are evil to everyone but me and the math teacher
Dark/Flying Emu pokemon with emo theme...haha
Im glad you included the rainbow serpent, that's such a cool mythical being.
TheMustardMan8 yeah you're pretty much right, Australia was used in the past as a place where England could send convicts to, I forgot what happened to them if and when they get released/ escaped from the barracks and stayed in Australia
you are true, and I know, I live there!
+TheMustardMan8
Welp, you're right, but it's a little more complicated than that.
Game Freak NEEDS to hire this man.
Jmf15 yep they need to
Yes they do
No, they don't.
Jmf15 can he speak Japanese? Since Game Freak is a Japanese company.
Jmf15 PLZ GAME FREAK, HIRE THIS MAN!
I think a cassowary would be good to include, either as a mono-steel version of Skarmory or its own new pokemon.
Either Dark/Flying or Fighting/Flying. Actually, considering the Great Emu War, a Fighting/Flying emu-cassowary evolutionary line would work.
It's a lovely day in australia and you are a horrible cassowary...
Dark fighting, cassowaries cant fly and they're mean creatures!
Galar seems cool and all but with each passing day I find myself feeling more and more sad knowing I might never see an official Australia pokemon region
Just play Pokemon spectrum
We keep seeing Australian themed pokémon cropping up in the games (especially the last two entries) so who knows?
@A Random Dude we already do, Unova was supposed to be an American inspired region
Unova is New York and Castelia city in Manhattan city hehehehe

But it could work too
Vidar Henriksen Faroe Islands and Greenland is kind of a part of Denmark
- Love the big desert area
- Be cool if you could actually dive around the Great barrier reef
- There so many cool new pokemon you could create just to do with the regions animals alone
- Professor Irwin is also a must
GAME FREAK GIVE THIS MAN A JOB ALREADY

I love the story you came up with! My ideas:
-a fossil pokemon based on the thylacine
-an evolution for the wombat pokemon that looks like the extinct giant wombat
-an hp stealing move that looks like a boomerang being thrown
-a super rare pokemon based on a panther. (There have been a bunch of sightings of them in real life)
-a dark type magpie pokemon (or maybe a regional variant) that swoops you from above
-A poison/grass type pokemon based on the gimpy gimpy tree
-when you visit the melbourne based city, the weather changes super quickly
The Champions could be a crocodile Dundee look alike

don't tell emus aren't dangerous, Australia lost a war to them.
ok, but that is not my point, as far as I know, emus are the only animal in the world that have "won" a war.
I was not commenting on why or how they "won" the war but rather that they were classified as not dangerous.
The comment itself was a joke, they don't seem very dangerous.
That is a rather good point, I shouldn't have said that
I did not know they were dangerous. Thanks for the info
They are very *dangerous* . They are capable of killing people and are much faster than you think.
Emus are actually dangerous, ur right I had to go to hospital for 7 weeks after being attacked by one, OUCHY I've got a scar still
not to mention their thick layers of feathers and hard beaks are actually fairly bulletproof..... huh. an ability
The evil team should’ve been our politicians 😂😂 I’m sure other Australians would get that

You wrote more in there than i did on my english midterm
Also Australia has the Red back spider not Black widow, Red backs will kill you
Also also to correct fox again, Australia wasn't just a prison colony lmao.
Iam from western Australia to
I feel like you missed a great opportunity to have a tasmanian devil pokemon and a mythical tasmanian tiger pokemon that are only available on Tasmania. It would make a great motivation for people to go there. There are also plenty of old castles there, it would be interesting if perhaps it was revealed that the tasmanian tiger going extinct had something to do with Team Noble, and maybe you free the last remaining one from their lair. Just a thought. Great video.
Yeah, I was actually expecting him to say that the Tasmanian devil and tiger would only be found in Tasmania :'(
while i really enjoyed the ideas you had for the region i have one thing that kind of bugged me in the port headland town. there is an Australian legend that takes place near that area where a red kelpie dog who would wander the desert areas outside of the town. he was very friendly with the people who lived near there and he became quite popular spawning a few books and then years later 2 movies adapted on the books story. even after Red dog passed the people of the town had a statue placed in the town of Dampier to honour his legend, the statue is still there today.
Or have the Champion we face off have it instead to go with that idea and once we became champion he;d gift it to us?
dude yes that would be so cool! :)
Make it a Mythical.
@Ember Light aw ye m8
A shiny Arcanine like the Shiny Gyrados in Johto.
Newcastle would be the best place for the base of the evil organisation.
BOGAN CENTRAL!!!
@@psychedashell we're all mad cunts in Newy

Their views on the safety of pokemon- The professor looked at what happened LOGICALLY, and the King reacted Emotionally (as one would do IF A POKEMON KILLED THEIR SISTER) and decided that all strong pokemon are dangerous
maybe add a 3rd legendary pokemon based on reason on something that fits logic and emotion.
maybe something like truth or intelligence
And it’s LITERALLY THE PLOT of incredibles 2
Another fossil Pokémon you could’ve done for this region could’ve been one to represent the thylacine (aka the Tasmanian tiger) as it is actually extinct today as well, so it would be cool to see it again but as a strong and rare Pokémon. *edit- omg I've never had this many likes before thx so much!!! ;3*
That's actually really good. Seeing as it only recently went extinct, I think it would be an interesting take on fossil pokemon.
well its not for sure that its extinct. lots of respectable scientists arent convinced
Good point
Star Kyuubi I would say it should be a rare Pokémon, but not a fossil.

Yes it is they’ve owned 1/3 of the franchise since the first game. They own it along with Game Freak and Creatures.
Also Nintendo owns the intellectual property that is Pokémon, so saying it’s not theirs is like saying COD isn’t an activision series because Treyarch and other companies manufacture the game.
This may not be part of the subject,
I'm an Australian Indigenous and my Nana has told me that when people take a piece of Ularu they'll get bad luck when they bring it to their home country and that could be in the game that Spiritomb should be

The Stonefish.
Type: Poison/Rock
Ability: Water Absorb
The Platypus fossil should also be Rock/Poison, as males have a poisonous spur on their legs.
it would also be cool if the fossil pokemon where different types for its gender. Males are Rock/Poison and the females are Rock/Water.
Reggie_bringit That could work. They were able to make Meowstic have different stats with its genders. I don't think types would be that much harder to program.
Goomtrooper Just make it two different Pokemon, like Nidoran. Or it could be like Combee but only males evolve.
I think the Combee thing was dumb. They should have made it like Burmy, the males evolve into Mothim and the females evolve into Wormadam.
Professor Acacia, please stay away from mantine.

P.S. I Know it's been 10+ years ago; but you DON'T Have to reopen old wounds. . .
New3DSLUIGI364 I see you everywhere oof
I was drinking a Coke and I nearly chocked.
This is so sad Alexa can we play despasito
Professor eucalyptus
i would've gave the evil teams design look like poachers instead of knights
Or bogans
But arent all POkemon trainers just poachers?
Poachers are diferennt they use tranquilizer guns and stuf
Stuff*
@@41tinman41 Welll, not really
Trainers are like bug collectors on steroids
Just instead of beetles and butterflies, they catch dragons and monsters
As an Aussie I just want to say thanks for this. We don't get much love. I really enjoyed this video.
Since No one else did...
Locations/ Towns: 4:45
Story and Characters: 18:25
New Pokémon: 35:40
...dude he put that in the video.
Good job
Larksy it’s hard to get it exactly right so he made it where you can just click and BOOM you’re there
The reason why nobody did this is because it’s in the video...
You guys are idiots
Ah man, i was hoping for a Tasmanian devil inspired pokemon.
Amme ikuzus me too! Also imagine a blue-ringed octopus Pokemon, or an ibis pokemon!
Amme ikuzus that definately needs to be one
Amme ikuzus or a Kookaburra
Amme ikuzus h
I really want a Tasmanian tiger inspired legendary.
Great idea! The legendary could be a ghost type based of El Chupacabra
Though I'm from Australia, I've been wanting a region based off Mexico for a while because it would be so interesting. It would also be really cool to get a mythical based off an Alebrije! And Axolotls live in Mexico, so a pokemon based off it would instantly be my favourite.
There’s another youtube channel named Subjectively that is doing the Mazah region, a fakemon region based on Mexico. Really cool, highly recommend
And can you also make a video about a Pokémon region based on The Netherlands? 🇳🇱
Sadly, professor Acacia was killed by a mantine, Rest In Peace.
TOO SOON BRO

*mantine? was the sting ray a baby?
I’m Australian and i didn’t even know we had castles 🏰
me neither XD
Been watching Shadiversity, an Aussie who's a medieval enthusiast... I don't remember him mentioning castles down under....
It's not you're fualt
same
we don't
As an Australian, I'm impressed with the amount of research you've done. good job, but your pronounciation could use some improvement....
Lucas Kane agreed
Lucas Kane - what do you think the starter pokemon would be? I keep coming up with a fire breathing bandicoot, but obviously you'll know your wildlife better than me
what are your thoughts?
thanks
Thomas Jones For a fire pokemon, I'm thinking there could be a fire type koala. They're small but they can be very dangerous, maybe they can evolve into a drop bear.
Cool, and what grass and water??
Natalie Velda so i’m i it’s good but he mispronounces brisbane and calls it bris bane it funny but good vid man
I'm Australian as well, and i'm not offended at all, i think it's extremely funny the way thing were pronounced.
Same here! Can someone get Game Freak on the phone and get this sorted?!
Nintendo! Hire this man!
Me too
i feel like it would be so cool if Lyredala could talk to humans as well due to a lyrebird's mimicking ability. i know pokemon don't really talk in the games much but it would add to the plot (awesome plot btw) by having a pokemons view on the matter, maybe helping people to see that they have feelings and EMOTIONS too
As an Australia, may I ask why there is no Pokémon based on beer
lmao
@that one animator could be a bottle Pokémon that’s ghost type since it’s disrespectful to litter and so it becomes a Pokémon kinda like shuppet
5:57 he said there’s lots to do in Perth for all those who have been to Perth you will know that the three photos you see is about the only attractions you will find in Perth
The most isolated city in the world, i wouldnt be surprised if a world ending apocalypse forgot to come to Perth
Kurtcaine bad guys will be bogans in Holden’s while the good guys go panning and caravanning
It is getting better...slowly
Mr. buddy, I know this may be somewhat impossible, but how about a PREHISTORIC region? I would love to see the water starter that is based off of a spinosaurus.
adam alexander YES!!!!!!
adam alexander I always wanted a main Pokémon game where the Professor is an archaeologist researching fossil Pokémon and the protagonist is a kid on a field trip that gets to visit the dig site. The evil organization attempts to revive a fossilized Pokémon that is said to form the entire crust underneath the region (similar to Namazu in Japanese folklore). The main character and his/her friends join the professor in stopping the evil team from developing a machine that's strong enough to revive said legendary. This could not only expand the number of fossil Pokémon, but bring back the Underground from Sinnoh and makes a great opportunity to have another Genesect event.
adam alexander It would be cool as a side game, maybe only 2-4 gyms, a few trials and a mini-league.
Why is the professor named acacia and not eucalyptus
because Acacia sounds like it can be a name and Eucalyptus doesn't
Or a gum tree
Prof gum sounds hella sick
Well he euclpyptus leaves can leave a bad result if ate but cant rlly apply that
Eucalyptus are part of the acacia family though.
Maybe the evil team may have travelled their from Galar as it is based on the UK
This is going to be SO good for post-game.
You should be a Game Freak employee.
1. You are so creative and have a good layout for every region.
2. I want this NOW.
DwuvShep It's too bad all game production takes place in Japan :/ There's a lot of good untapped potential in the rest of the world
potions should be free since we have medicare
No, potions should be heavily discounted. And if you visit the Pokemon Centre, you get bulk billed but sometimes the receptionist screws up and suddenly you don't have any money.
We aren't Canadians...
Thanks buddy we don't just live in a huge desert 🙏🏿👍 you the👍

I know you're getting a lot of these, but this really tickled my home-grown Australian side. I see a lot of this beautiful country I call home, so I really reckon you nailed it on the head with a lot of stuff, and clearly there's more to be added that you couldn't quite talk about, I had a few ideas that I've also compiled with the comments. If I remember more, I might keep adding them:
1. I feel like we need a lot more Aboriginal rich things, like an Aboriginal gym leader, and their myths and legends and references to Dreamwalking because it's as big of what this country is and how it was formed. A lot of our naturally formed rocks and landscapes all have some legend tied so them, so I reckon that would be interesting to incorporate in too
2. Being inspired by the European settlers for the enemy team was a really cool idea, and one I enjoy, but if I'm being honest, the real war that's happening is between the burbians (suburban dwellers) and bush-wackers (bogans)
I do appreciate the Lyrebird and the Rainbow Serpent as Legendaries
I'm mostly limited to what I know in the East, however
You'll be happy to know that wedgies are currently listed as "Least Concern" by the IUCN.
Why was this automatically showing me everything...? O.o
You do know that the routes in Kalos have names, right?
Am i the only one amused by what the evil teams reaction would be to Yveltal the literal pokemon of Destruction?
R.I.P. Steve Irwin :(
Poor Grunts :o wearing Armor in a Dessert or Rainforest....sounds like torture to me
Hey man, I'm an Australian and really loved some of these ideas.
Tasmanian Tiger I'd think of as a ghost/normal. Ghost because it's been made extinct. Maybe revive one through a non-normal method similar to fossil.
Anyone else wish Ned Kelly was a thing in this concept?
The region with the most deadly Pokemon ever made.
Every dex entry shall be dark and savage.
Even darker than sun and moon?
Steve Irwin makes a great professor.
An idea for another Fossil Pokemon is a Tasmanian Tiger. They're really cool. If you don't know what those are, you should check it out!
Sasha Hardey true they basically look like pokemon already
Sasha Hardey yay I love those i say it on wildcrats with my kids they are awesome they could run all day in a sort of lumbering trot and had massive jaws they could open really wide to imtimadat enemy's and we're about as big as wolf's.
Sasha Hardey I don't need to search it up cuz I know what they are from living in Australia 🇦🇺
Sasha Hardey I heard of me their cool
Sasha Hardey I'm sad their extinct
YOOOO so i'm Australian and i think this is probably the best fan-made production ever, but like you said with the legendary pokemon representing Logic and Emotion, my mind instantly went to Ethos, the more ethical side which could represent the third legendary as a man-made pokemon by team noble.
This of course would mean that Team Noble was successful in their plan for the first game, however, a sequel that touches on the Ethos pokemon would be amazing. this does however seem very touche as it could derive from the kyurem games (black 2 & white 2)
This could also bring Aristotle as another N-like figure
Aristotle Means?
The Pokemon Company really needs to hire you and the artists
Such amazing ideas, but maybe they will need to come up with new names for your region though.
I can already imagine me playing the game
Keep up the good work.
Australian form of Octillery could be a blue ringed octopus
make it a water/poison type
If Australia was a Pokemon region, I would absolutely choose the fire type starter. Many things in Australia need to be killed with fire...
excuse me, sir. We tried fire, it didn't work
Some of the trees burns easily - a bit hard to stop though. Keep water types around or you're burning through the state
damn toads, rabbits, foxes and cats.
HORRIOR oi I'm Australian and nothing needs to be burned that is stupid
You do know alot of the flora thrive BECAUSE of fire, right?
just because bush fires are a problem doesnt mean fire kills all native plants here.
Please, make Canada, it would make a great region or Russia!
A region with more Ice-types would be neat
For Ice Region I would vote for Russia. It seens to have more background information, historic wise, to make a complete game.
a maple syrup pokemon
Decidueye Ghost Aussies are better
Last nitpick - Emu is pronounced eem-you
How dare you not include a Tasmanian devil Pokémon
But really good vid
Tasmanian tiger fossil Pokemon
Noah Harbaugh what’s a bunyip?
Sarah Kolk Tasmanian Devil Pokémon would totally be a fighting/ground type I would think. Or a fighting/dark type since they are extremely vicious
Toxic Prime look it up
ahhhh yes...
gotta love those e-moo's
MooMoo Cat eeeem yous😂
MooMoo Cat
G note
The professor could actually be the son of a professor who died during his exploration which is based on Robert Irwin and his dad, Steve Irwin after he passed away. Add more new regional pokemon and give other regional forms with a distinct story line and this could be an awesome region to explore. I wish GF made a region based on my country ( yes, I'm Australian).
what if the professor had a matinee as one of his pokemon
LegendarySuicune ♡ Too soon
Shiny Sylveon
I feel like Nintendo probably wouldn't want any of their characters to be based off of real life tragic events that happened to real people.
For emu you could have like different styles for the seasons or types like the dear Pokémon. A Bush, a rock, pile of snow, autumn leaf Bush etc
Bluue Charky or have each Pokémon’s type dependant in the area of the region you find them
a pile of SNOW in AUSTRALIA....
PuRe_RTurnill only find them in the snowy mountains 👍😜👍
And have it hunt down the player
I feel you missed two great animals to base Pokémon off of. The Quokka, an incredibly cute animal only found on an island off of Perth, called Rots Nest. The other is the Cassowary, probably the meanest and scariest bird in the world, like a smaller blue Emu w/ a crest on its head, with talons that can literally gut a man. But the rest were really good. Also the platypus like Pokémon should have something to do with electroreception which is something only the Platypus can do, within the mammal family.
Boney Miles also the Tasman Devil and Tiger
No one really knows if the Tasmanian Tiger is extinct at all due to unconfirmed sightings and all that, oh and aussie i think you mean the tasmanian tiger and not the devil
Psycho Dragon if it's extinct it could be a fossil Pokemon
Hmmm, for legendary, I was thinking along the lines of Aboriginal Dream Time stories, like the Rainbow Serpent, and the mythical pokemon could be bunyips. I feel like there's loads of inspiration in the Dream Time.
Boney Miles "Rottnest" meaning rats nest
I love to see Australia being turned into a Pokemon reign but... It is triggering me the way you say emu it's not pronounced e - moo it is an e - mew
oh hey TIL! i grew up hearing it as e-moo (probs cause im american lol)
I've mostly heard it pronounced as "eem-yu" (also Australian). For sure it's definitely not "e-moo" XD
Still calling it e-moo, for it sounds the best, at least for me.
*B R I S S B A I N E*
dude i felt the same way
I love what you've done with the region, and I have my own suggestions for it as well!
A new video??? What is this madness???
Pokemigas this is SPARTA
Bruce Brody
No this is Australia Sparta was in a different video
Madness? THIS IS POKEMON!
+Jason Jayawardena yup
Pokemigas Madness?! This is not madness(you had it coming). THIS IS SPARTA!(Lucario uses Blaze Kick) Pokegimas is ded
I really like your ideas, but I do have a couple of small nitpicks
1. I know you apologised for it, but I thought I'd let you know anyway, the correct pronunciations are emyu (emu), melbn (Melbourne), cans (Cairns), canbra (Canberra), brisbn (Brisbane) and Albany is pronounced with the a from apple
2. Uluru is a scared ground, so you can't climb it so that's both a point for and against your legendary idea
3. Tasmania is not just an island, it's a state on its own, but I understand what you were going for
Anther idea I had is that seasons could emulate those in the southern hemisphere rather than northern hemisphere since they seem to mimic the northern hemisphere (as far as I can tell) for the other games
I personally feel like there needs to be a third legendary which represents compromise or balance, but I have no idea how that would be shown as a Pokemon...
I also think that there needs to be a reference to the bunyip too, especially if there's a reference to drop bears!
An echidna would be good too...
yes! great ideas!
lazboi123456789 yes as a fellow aussie, i noticed these things too. i mean, some places like uluru is understandable to not know the historic backround but still most of the ideas in this game is very creative and accurate. good work! :)
Could not agree more ^^
Hopefully I didn't come off as critical, I just wanted to note those small things
Either way, this is still a way better concept than I could've come up with!
AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE...
it was so funny when he said Melbourne XD
This is an amazing idea for a Pokemon region! I'm a Australia myself and I'm a huge Pokemon fan myself ! Keep up the great work!

bobby the bear should be a pokemon
also, the lyre bird should be found there as it is where it is native to.
Uluru should be victory road
no the pokemon league
