I had TIF in 2019, worked well for about 2 years. Now Gerd is back with a vengeance.

Patients don't need an informercial that is trying to convince them to have surgery. They need actual information about the procedure, backed up by studies, and discussion of side effects, risks, pros and cons. This video is a disservice to patients.

Hello Dr I'd like to ask you kindly what's the best and simplest way to get in touch with you either by email or phone number knowing that I am right now established in Morocco and I am very interested in your GERD revolutionary technique. Many sincere thanks and best regards

Can anyone please provide an update as to well the TIF procedure has help up long term. For example, how long does it hold up after 1, 2, 3 4 or 5 years and longer? There are some people who've had it done that say it didn't work, the Proceedure came undone or that it left them in too much pain. Is there any data as to what percent of people who've had it done are satisfied? And success rate long term 5 years post operation etc.?

I have a Hiatal hernia. I had TIF surgery & the Nissen fundoplication on Nov 18th 2021. It is now 4 months since the surgery. Sometimes if I eat pieces that are to big I will throw up. Because of this I had another swallow test. Nothing seems to be blocked & the radiologist said he didnt see any reflux so I wonder why I still have constant burning in my throat. What has been your experience with how long it takes for this burning to go away. I wonder if something else could be the issue? Thanks.

Hello, I was under the impression that the TIF procedure and the Nissen Fundoplication are two different proceedures to treat GERD. The TIF is Incisionless that is they go through your mouth Down the throat where as the Nissen the make small incision or Incisions to access the stomach and esophagus. Did you have both proceedures done? I have an appointment with a surgeon on Monday for the TIF procedure only. I do not have a hiatal hernia only a Lower Esophageal Spinchter which is too open or does not close enough thereby causing me to have GERD for several years. The worst part is I cannot sleep well due to this condition.

@@rcardoosuna6491 Yes I had both procedures the Tiff will not work if The gap is longer than 2" I still have the constant burning it's not quite as bad as bad but it's still there 5 months later and I have a follow up with a different GI doctor next week. Sometimes it gets so bad that the gas is will come up my throat and stop popping in my mouth which is really annoying

I have aetna open access select choice. I want to get this done. I don't know if I have a thin stomach or not. I do not knowif I have hiatal hernia or not All I know is I only got diagosis for acid reflux in 2004. It got worst as I got pregnant. Now I realize I had this condition as a child. I cough all the time for no reason and my dad took me to see diff doc and no doc even thought of it as reflux. I am 53 now. My problem got really worst. I don't wanna take medication for this anymore. Medication can give me kidney problems later in life Help. Help. I take dexiliant and this new insurance of mine isn't cover much of that medicine. Old insurance ended 12/31/2017 covered it and the manufacture covered it with no co-payment Out of pocket this medicaiton can be as expensive as $750 for 30 days supply Help. Help. I tried to stop dexiliant and last Sunday my throat was hurt is bad with severe bad and my voice was was hoarse. My daughter asked me am I okay ............ It is the worst. I choked a lot too now after I tried to get off dexiliant.

Can you please tell us if there is any data or studies as to how well the TIF procedure holds up over time , for example 3 or 5 years or longer post operation? Also was is the satisfaction rate or success rate to cure this condition? I have suffered from this condition for a number of years.

this procedure needs to be researched a lot more for older people because my grandmother had this done 2 days ago and ended up in ICU because her stomach liner tore from the tool they use. she had to had to be cut open and left open for 24hrs with this pump thing cleaning her insides. thankfully she is doing better today but she was sedated for almost 48 hrs from the time they started to do this procedure. BEWARE DO LIGHT TEST BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THIS PROCEDURE. for those who dont know what the light test is the put a light in your stomach and if they can see the light your stomach walls are too thin and great risk is involved.
