It’s amazing how other professionals undermine peer professionals . I hear people claim that their isn’t enough research to support peers are effective, yet professionals constantly ask patients who their support systems are. Often times people coming into recovery have little to know support if they are leaving a toxic lifestyle, and in doing so need direction to positive interactions. Let’s not over complicate it, positive support benefits everyone.
I'm experiencing this now. I'm the only one in the place without a key to my office. I've been there for a few months now and I'm just getting a phone.

Peer support is promising. Hopefully working with the patients is as compelling as having all the things the other workers have.
