Actually, I'm glad you posted this. I got myself a Jackery a few years ago for the purpose of keeping a small cooler running for my insulin when the power goes out. It was a guess and by golly purchase, I read the Amazon reviews, had no idea what I really needed, only what I could afford. It's been very useful, but I don't have solar, nor a place where I could recharge it safely with solar. Fortunately, my bff had power and let me charge it at her place. But you've given me sources that I can use to make an informed decision with my next Jackery. Thank you, girl! I still think living in a Prius is a bit insane, but your spirit speaks to mine, only mine prefers flush toilets.
I love the van and can't wait to see your van when it's finished. I also love your family. Your Dad rumbling about the comfort of your Prius bed made me cackle. I can see the delight of living in a comfy van set up for my needs. I'm not even put off by compost toilets. Heck, I clean my 20 yo cat's box multiple times a day. And when the water goes out or the toilet is blocked, a bucket, a garbage bag and an adult diaper become lifesavers.😆😆😆
So, I believe I have signed up for the long haul. I've followed Trent and Allie for a fme years now; they helped me through the quarantine and after. I think that you are and will be as much fun as they are.
By the way, I Love your Mom! She is a crackerjack! She reminds me of a MUCH younger version of my Mom, who would have been quick to volunteer to travel with me on occasion if I had thought to live so free.
If you use it for your insuline you should look up ecoflow, they are designed for that purpose and have no powerdrop. They also charge in 1 hour with a wall socket in stead of 2. For insuline i would advice ecoflow

We went with Goal Zero Yeti 3000X for a permanent install, and then a 500x as a grab-n-go. We found goal zero to be better built (aluminum frame) and the inverter was stronger at the time. I think the Jackery Pro bumped their inverter up to be more in-line with the Goal Zero. We also found the Goal Zero panels to be built better overall. The bounder series are very rugged, and the Nomad 200's are build very well too and they fold up into a relatively thin profile that doesn't take up much thickness on the rig. At home we have another 3000X which is installed with Yeti Link and (12) Yeti Tanks which power our home for 2 straight days in event of power outage

that is one awesome device. I am thinking about getting one for the times we are without power due to a hurricane passing through. In New Orleans we have regular major storms. Looks like a good device for a retiree to have around. Just love Camper.

I'm still a little away from getting started with a cross between "Van Life" and "Converted U-Haul/box truck" Life. I have a far way to go before I figure out which way I want to go. I've learned a Hell of a lot watching your channel. That's for sure!

These portable packs are great for power emergencies at the house, for sure. I was able to run a sump pump after a storm. In the winter, you can use it to run your gas furnace - because the fan is still electric!
Ecoflow has emergency power system, that means it wil go on to battery power in 0.005sec when the wall power drops. I love this feature and i believe ecoflow is the only one that has this feature within that small of a time. Love them!

I have the older Jackery 1000. I bought it just before the new pro was released. I plan to buy a 1500 or 2000, just haven't decided which one yet. It's a weight & space thing. I want to use it in my tiny kitchen for cooking etc. Thanks for the great review Nikki.
You should look up ecoflow, they are smaller and more powerful. They also have a shorter chargetime and more charge cyclus, so they last longer

I use the EcoFlow River 600 MAX, and I'm frankly amazed at what these little Solar Generators can power. In a power failure, I can charge my unit while using it at the same time with my solar panels ! Some units do not offer the ability to charge while draining the system *at the same time.* As long as my Wattage drain doesn't exceed my Wattage input, then I can use my solar genny indefinitely. If the usage drain rate in Watts exceeds the input energy in Watts, then this has the effect of greatly extending the time of usage available from the system before the internal batteries are exhausted. In the case of the EcoFlow River 600, the maximum amount of solar input possible is 200 Watts. The Jackery Solar panels can be used with any solar generator, although it may require an adapter cable (Barrel plug to XT60 Female in the case of EcoFlow products, or an MC-4 to XT60 adapter cable.

I suppose timing is everything. You bought the right vehicle with the information that was available at the time. Because Ford has just come out with a Transit Trail vehicle designed specifically for van life. There a YTer traveler 😊with a presentation detailing it’s features and various options. Doesn’t hurt to check it out.
