If you buy art and then manage to have it revalued higher (like, you buy for one million and get someone to state the thing is wirth two) and then donate it, then yes, you avoid paying some taxes. But money given to people can't be had back. She will discount those 55 million from her benefits and will pay less taxes, but there's no way those 55 million do not end up being less money for her. It's great because she doesn't need more, but I don't see how she would get back all the 55 million in tax returns.

Thousands of people who didn't have concert tickets were lining up overnight just for the 'opportunity' to buy Taylor Swift swag which they marketed as 'Limited'. One sweatshirt cost $75, so that's hundred$ of thousand$ just in merch.
