Love this interviewer, he has such a warmth about him and really brings out some great answers and insight from these bands, who probably wouldn't normally be so open. Especially liked the bit about the controlled chaos. I totally get what they mean and it's the main reason I love this band so much.
I like what the host was saying about the 'controlled chaos'! That's what makes music special. The journey into the unknown and teetering on the edge! Its the uncertainty and mistakes that give music its edge! If music was always technically and sonically perfect it would become lifeless and robotic! I'm lucky I got to see Peter Hook about 5 years ago, that gig really got me into playing bass :)
I love this band. Her voice is insane and melts into the music in the best way. I hope they're all doing well, wherever they are now. I know they split, which sucks but thankfuly they left a trail of incredible music behind them and great music never ages.
I really love this performance! I feel so glad I've know you guys! You guys are amazing! I love your voice Katie!!! And the music of the band is just amazing and so unique these days!
Damn, didn't realize they were from my hood in Toronto, and also broke up recently 😢 Someone got lazy here with the chapters. The interview was NOT that long, there's a song in there. Outro = Desire (song) etc.
[Verse 1: Katie Monks] Decided To go the long way It might end If you don't let go of my ball and chain [Chorus: Katie Monks] I'll miss you, I'll miss you I'll miss you, my ball and chain I'll miss you, I'll miss you My ball and chain But I know you're still rollin', babe [Verse 2: Katie Monks] Tried to mend The holes I thought you had left But you are so Much stronger than we had expect [Chorus: Katie Monks] I'll miss you, I'll miss you I'll miss you, my ball and chain I'll miss you, I'll miss you My ball and chain [Outro: Katie Monks] And I know you're still rollin', babe And you're smokin' them all for me I'll miss you, I'll miss you I'll miss you, I'll miss you I'll miss you, I'll miss you... 2 [Verse 1: Katie Monks] Should-a gone-a home But I'll stay In this car for love Won't shower 'til I have to, oh! I was running wild You were talking fast Those other guys are just stuck in the past 'Til they have to go [Chorus: Katie Monks] Right after the show I'm gonna burn this mother down And race you to the next one (To the next one, oh) [Verse 2: Katie Monks] Should-a gone home But I'll stay Chasin' dreams tied to the road And I'll come back one day, y'know Throwin' sticks at the guards Makin' love in the parlour Really isn't so hard 'Til we have to go [Chorus: Katie Monks] Right after the show I'm gonna burn this mother down And race you to the next one (To the next one, oh) 3 [Verse 1: Katie Monks] I love you, man And I know that you can see Gho-ho-ho-hosts Gho-ho-ho-hosts And all your friends They don't believe your story Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah [Chorus: Katie Monks] She's gonna heal you with her Woman's touch Woman's touch At least that's what they call it, man Whispering all around these lands Woman's touch... [Verse 2: Katie Monks] She moves so slow You hope to find her in her Ho-ho-ho-home Ho-ho-ho-home And in her care Your spirit's like a baby Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah [Chorus: Katie Monks] She's gonna heal you with her Woman's touch Woman's touch At least that's what they call it, man Whispering all around these lands Woman's touch... [Outro: Katie Monks] Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa 4 [Verse 1] I'm comin' at you from against the world, I get desire Charlie saw me after school and then I get desire Inside her It's calling on me lately Desire [Chorus] This fire, this fire, this fire, desire This fire, this fire, this fire, desire This fire, this fire, this fire, desire Desire, inside her It's calling on me lately Desire [Verse 2] Chocolate legs are danglin' from the skies, I get desire Milky waves are fallin' from her eyes, I get desire Desire, inside her It's calling on me lately Desire [Chorus] This fire, this fire, this fire, desire This fire, this fire, this fire, desire Desire, inside her It's calling on me lately Desire
Punk rock isn't dead, it's just shed its uniform and many of the stupid restrictions that came to define it. These folks get a big "Hell yes!" from this formerly pointy haired old dude. edited to add: Those two guitar sounds are fucking perfect together. Both sound great individually and mesh together without muddying up the mix. Fantastic.
+Goadiroth Hah, lots of these KEXP sessions have that awkward moment when the band aren't immediately aware that they're actually meant to respond to the announcer. Check out the Ought one, the first Julia Holter...
it was also a hearing issue for Katie - sometimes holding her headphone while talking - watch their Baby's All Right 2015 video and at 2 : 10 minutes she talks about the sound - then points to her right ear and says "I have bad hearing"
so good so good so good I swear to fucking god if I can ever manage to kick this fucking habit the nostalgia of banal moments such as this but framed by my most favorite music are going to drown me in grief.. it's all so very pointless but good music is life. That's a Truth, son.
@alexwesthoff6890 hey 👋... I'm from the future... he leaves. In fact... Donald Trump will become president and there will be a crazy pandemic and chaos will ensue. Embrace these innocent times. It's only downhill from here 😢
+robeesaurus I can relate to that, with the hair and lack of enthusiasm for corporate media, just invert the guitar and you're there... and throw in a sweater or flannel.
+Jim May True! Even the shirt she's wearing and her hair remind me of Kurt! Even her singing style! I do like the idea of Courtney Love with laryngitis Hahaha!
dilly dally, I ran through an alley, we don't want to cause trouble we don't want to bother nobody we just two ____'s who on the mic... (that's what their band name reminded me of)
At 2:46 they're flipped, before that they were on correctly. Also during that guitar solo her rhythm guitar isn't present, so my thought is that her headphones fell off and she rushed to get them back on so she could resume playing.
That chick did not like Kevin Cole. He tried several angles to create a dialog that basically went nowhere so he just decided to pigeon hole her into discussing negative aspects or scenarios of the band. All the while she was looking at him like, 'What a DUMB-OLD-FUCK' We just want to play our music without being confined by your questions.
I'm really open to all types of music, including this, but....The first thing I thought when I heard her sing was "That sounds like a couple cats fighting in the alley at 3am." I wouldn't go see them for free at a kegger.
This lead singer is so mediocre. I would much prefer to see/hear the lead singer being in a place of lead guitar and the lead guiarist being in place of the lead singer.
TIZZLE~TIZZLE 🌹😎👍👍 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 & 💎💎💎💎💎 MOST FANTASTIC!!!🎊🎉 I Would ❤️ To Hear More From Dilly Dally Indeed! 😎👍👍 Always Love & Good Vibes From Las Vegas, Nevada. Sincerely, Tom Weidler
My god! she sounds exactly like in the album, what a great voice.
Wow! that was the most awkward intro between a host and a band I have ever seen.
SAME
She's stoned and I'm swooning
nothing sexier than being half conscious am i right?...
I felt it in my gut and now I have anxiety.
if that ain’t me...
Thanks, KEXP, for introducing me to so many awesome bands. :-)
+Rodrigo Meneses Really cool. KDHX features some great bands too.
Love this interviewer, he has such a warmth about him and really brings out some great answers and insight from these bands, who probably wouldn't normally be so open. I'm so happy that I randomly clicked on this video! They're good live, fresh and have an interesting sound.
I love this band. Her voice is insane and melts into the music in the best way. I hope they're all doing well, wherever they are now. I know they split, which sucks but thankfuly they left a trail of incredible music behind them and great music never ages.
HELL YEAH DILLY DALLY TORONTO REPPIN THE GOOD SHIT
Saw them in London a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely brilliant live show.
I love them, everyday a little bit more.
This is rad as fuck, I wanna see them live
I really love this performance! I feel so glad I've know you guys! You guys are amazing! I love your voice Katie!!! And the music of the band is just amazing and so unique these days!
amazing has a lot of good people out there making free music...
I love this soudnd
Man, I miss this band.
Damn, didn't realize they were from my hood in Toronto, and also broke up recently 😢
Someone got lazy here with the chapters. The interview was NOT that long, there's a song in there. Outro = Desire (song) etc.
[Verse 1: Katie Monks]
Decided
To go the long way
It might end
If you don't let go of my ball and chain
[Chorus: Katie Monks]
I'll miss you, I'll miss you
I'll miss you, my ball and chain
I'll miss you, I'll miss you
My ball and chain
But I know you're still rollin', babe
[Verse 2: Katie Monks]
Tried to mend
The holes I thought you had left
But you are so
Much stronger than we had expect
[Chorus: Katie Monks]
I'll miss you, I'll miss you
I'll miss you, my ball and chain
I'll miss you, I'll miss you
My ball and chain
[Outro: Katie Monks]
And I know you're still rollin', babe
And you're smokin' them all for me
I'll miss you, I'll miss you
I'll miss you, I'll miss you
I'll miss you, I'll miss you...
2
[Verse 1: Katie Monks]
Should-a gone-a home
But I'll stay
In this car for love
Won't shower 'til I have to, oh!
I was running wild
You were talking fast
Those other guys are just stuck in the past
'Til they have to go
[Chorus: Katie Monks]
Right after the show
I'm gonna burn this mother down
And race you to the next one
(To the next one, oh)
[Verse 2: Katie Monks]
Should-a gone home
But I'll stay
Chasin' dreams tied to the road
And I'll come back one day, y'know
Throwin' sticks at the guards
Makin' love in the parlour
Really isn't so hard
'Til we have to go
[Chorus: Katie Monks]
Right after the show
I'm gonna burn this mother down
And race you to the next one
(To the next one, oh)
3
[Verse 1: Katie Monks]
I love you, man
And I know that you can see
Gho-ho-ho-hosts
Gho-ho-ho-hosts
And all your friends
They don't believe your story
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
[Chorus: Katie Monks]
She's gonna heal you with her
Woman's touch
Woman's touch
At least that's what they call it, man
Whispering all around these lands
Woman's touch...
[Verse 2: Katie Monks]
She moves so slow
You hope to find her in her
Ho-ho-ho-home
Ho-ho-ho-home
And in her care
Your spirit's like a baby
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
[Chorus: Katie Monks]
She's gonna heal you with her
Woman's touch
Woman's touch
At least that's what they call it, man
Whispering all around these lands
Woman's touch...
[Outro: Katie Monks]
Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa
Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa
Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa
Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa
Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa
Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa
Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa
Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa
Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa

[Verse 1]
I'm comin' at you from against the world, I get desire
Charlie saw me after school and then I get desire
Inside her
It's calling on me lately
Desire
[Chorus]
This fire, this fire, this fire, desire
This fire, this fire, this fire, desire
This fire, this fire, this fire, desire
Desire, inside her
It's calling on me lately
Desire
[Verse 2]
Chocolate legs are danglin' from the skies, I get desire
Milky waves are fallin' from her eyes, I get desire
Desire, inside her
It's calling on me lately
Desire
[Chorus]
This fire, this fire, this fire, desire
This fire, this fire, this fire, desire
Desire, inside her
It's calling on me lately
Desire
love these guys!!

+Fossil Fishy Don't forget the addiction to narcotics, like, you know...
I like this comment 👌
Best band ever.
What a voice, babe!
This is awesome
this is good
Now imagine a conversation between this girl and J Mascis. Love the band though
Lovelyyy !
Lol at the awkward moment at 0:08
lol that would be me.
+Goadiroth i think she was just really high
Wen Johnny I wouldn't doubt it haha
+Goadiroth Hah, lots of these KEXP sessions have that awkward moment when the band aren't immediately aware that they're actually meant to respond to the announcer. Check out the Ought one, the first Julia Holter...

we want to play in kexp !!!!!!!! :P
very few people do I get one look at and think "omg i am in love." Katie Monks ohhh lawdt
katie is baked!
I totally want to chill out and smoke some weed with them
Those guys are so awesome! Stop saying they sound like Hole or other bands.
Cheers!
Probably would not have watched the whole thing if it wasn't for the lead guitar.. She really makes the band
F33bs in the case of the Green Bay Packers, the quarterback really does make the team. Liz is the Aaron Rodgers of Dilly Dally
@alexwesthoff6890 hey 👋... I'm from the future... he leaves. In fact... Donald Trump will become president and there will be a crazy pandemic and chaos will ensue. Embrace these innocent times. It's only downhill from here 😢
grunge is coming back
Reminds me of a young Courtney Love with laryngitis
+Jim May thought had occured to me too, great sound though, pre pretentiousness if thats a thing..
+Jim May I thought she reminded me more of Kurt Cobain with the blue fender mustang and the over all sound, but in a good way :)
+Jim May waaaaaaaay more talented than Courtney Love. Dilly Dally is so much better than hole
this dude over thinking shit damn they're so stoned chill
love the duck tape on the guitar
🔥🤘🏽❤️🙌🏾🔥❤️🤘🏽🔥
dilly dally, I ran through an alley, we don't want to cause trouble we don't want to bother nobody we just two ____'s who on the mic... (that's what their band name reminded me of)
+Ricky Rich Haha I thought I was the only one !
hilarious!
High as a kite.
Good band. Clearly absorbing as much Kurt Cobain as possible, right down to the horizontal stripey t-shirt!
She reminds me so much of Kurt Cobain!!
Katie ❤
DESIRE 16:55
OMG THANK YOU
i think i hear mazzy star as much as courtney love
meeeeeeeow, I like to listen to pussycats in heat :) great band!
Australia please
Gibson Melody Maker niiiice
They're the new Pixies to me :D
But wait, what happened last time around?!?!
15:15 is cool
I'm very much attracted to her. I have no idea why though
+Goo Mcoo I find her fascinating, sometimes you can't explain it.
Whats there to explain? Why dont you have an idea? She's the frontwoman to a sick band, cute and has a bit of a dgaf persona.
shes beautiful
damn where are the tabs for this
Not sure if there would be any at the moment, but this stuff seems easy enough to learn by eye and ear.
Vocalists mike is way too muted. Makes it hard to hear the full music. Great band though, love the passion!
do you think its unfair to compare them with Hole or shoe gaze
her headphones are backward
David Alchemist Hempseed oh ya seems liek it
At 2:46 they're flipped, before that they were on correctly. Also during that guitar solo her rhythm guitar isn't present, so my thought is that her headphones fell off and she rushed to get them back on so she could resume playing.
oh yeah - that's right - it happened at 2:34 minutes when she screeched
She sounds so much like Jennifer Herrema
donde esta la contraseña del torneo
Everyone in this seems stoned as fuck
That chick did not like Kevin Cole. He tried several angles to create a dialog that basically went nowhere so he just decided to pigeon hole her into discussing negative aspects or scenarios of the band. One of these items dont belong. Can you spot it?
⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
wtf are the vocALS WHY
There's a hot girl named Vanessa that longboards.
Is she speaking English?
Not into the poorly strained vocals, but all instruments were amazing. The guitar was great.
This was quite odd - the host seems very rigid. I felt uncomfortable just listening to his voice.
Desire is way too Pixies
+Josh Bsb And thats bad?
+hampsterification Not at all.
+Josh Bsb They are a lot better than the Pixies.
@@ryankelly2109 obsurd
Pixies are one of the dullest bands around. Coldplay for people who think they like music.
Diggin' the Courtney Love vibe
I like allot of weird stuff but this is...? Idk let's see how it goes I'm only a couple seconds in.
She looks stoned af
the music is so cool and the voice too, but the singer is like super overacted
their songs are reallly good but they dont Sounds right enough live
wow she's really trying to be Kurt Cobain
I'm really open to all types of music, including this, but....The first thing I thought when I heard her sing was "That sounds like a couple cats fighting in the alley at 3am." I wouldn't go see them for free at a kegger.
This lead singer is so mediocre. I would much prefer to see/hear the lead singer being in a place of lead guitar and the lead guiarist being in place of the lead singer.
+JohnLemon237 What is she really saying with her music?
terrible nirvana wannabee
HIGH HIGH HIGH
