Incredible ! Thanks for The Mountbatten Festival of Music .The Bands of HM ROYAL.
Beautifully
I'm really under the weather today, but this has lifted my spirits completely.
A salute from a former WRAF.
May George, Sam, and each member of the Royal Marines Band Service continue with their great service to the British People and to the Commonwealth. Avoid the lure and bright lights and of greed. Thank everyone of you for your service, especially in the times and health needs of the Marines and the people.
As a retired CDR, USN, I have the utmost respect for the Royal Marines and the Royal Marine Bands. Two things that really impress me: 1) they play a wide variety, not just marches or martial music, and 2) they really are Marines, not just musicians in uniform; they go through boot camp (albeit a somewhat less strenuous version) and they deploy on operations (not as commandos, but as drivers, stretcher bearers, and other support roles). To use a Navy expression, Bravo Zulu.
So very proud of our ROYAL MARINES,be safe and may God bless you all.
A military concert in dress uniforms, in Albert Hall, hearkens back to the grand epoch, how wonderful.
As a wee lad growing up in the centre of Londonderry in the 1950s I have fond memories of the Band of the Royal Marines who used to play and march in the square in front of the Guildhall. In those days both sides of the religious divide went to watch and admire their precision and musicality. Seeing this video and hearing the beautiful voice of the woman marine has brought it all back to me. They were amazing back then - they are just as amazing today.
I now live in scotland but beautiful history and people bag pipes reduce me to tears but I long for some warmth from southampton Hampshire.all my children married Scott's live in scotland but for me I want home sun

One of the Best Military Bands in the World, I challenge anyone to match this
The U.S. Marines can match and surpass them musically (on the technical level) but they cant put on a show as exciting and visually intriguing as the HM Royal Marines. I personally prefer the way the HM Royal Marines do it lol.
@@makaiyee9133 As a retired USN officer, one thing I really appreciate about the RM bands is that they don't just play music, they also go on operational duty. Not as commandos, but as essential support functions. There were bandsmen in the Falklands, for example. I'm not sure about USMC bands at the unit level, but "The President's Own" are pretty much strictly musicians.
THE best military band in the world - by a mile! And have you seen them march?
One day warriors of many battles shall come and be united together in one music and harmony and there shall be wars no more.
The cote d'armes at its best.
I love being English, British and I am comfortable in my skin. I make no apologies for that.
Why should you ?
I like your mindset. White liberals in America need to learn from you-I cannot stand them white shaming other white conservatives! I’m not even white, but I stand up for them!
@@toko34 I'm white and I make no apologies for it either. I don't apologize for anything that I, nor my ancestors, didn't participate in or have anything to do with. Nor do I belong to any political party. I think for myself, not how I'm "told" .
@@baronedipiemonte3990 way to go!
@@toko34 ....👍 No country is perfect. Every country has things in it's past that are not a source of pride. And every country has things that are worthy of pride. Look at the past, hopefully learn from it, and go forward. No one of any race/heritage need be ashamed of whence they came.
Excellent performance. Makes me proud to have been raised in the military community, and to be a Brit.
God bless England. God bless England’s great warrior musicians.
LOVE and Peace NOT war performances are far greater to humanity; thanks for the wonderful music of healing, greetings from Canada...
The British sing their national anthem, sincerely and with passion and honesty. Splendid! Here in Germany this is unthinkable, not even the German national football team is able to sing the German national anthem. But, what a wonderful concert and wonderful show this is! Great!
I'm not even sure if our American school children are taught the American National Anthem, the Star Spangled Banner... anymore ? Or any of our patriotic songs. What's worse Is that it's become de rigueur to disrespect it. I don't see that in the UK or any other country. For the past year and then some America has been divided over stupidity. Even our Armed Forces...Truly saddening.
The Burstons in Canada 🇨🇦 salute you in memory of our Father Sgt Christopher John Burston PlyX413
STUPENDOUS AND FANTASTICALLY WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRITANNIA ABSOLUTELY FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s about time that the BBC covered this. As an English man my heart is so proud,. Too patriotic for them I wonder.
Agreed sir . Much better than a lot of the rubbish we pay our tv license for .
saving resources for a tribute to ISIS
The Sound of Silence, thought provoking.
IMPRESSIONNANT! Quelle maîtrise, quelle puissance, quelle précision !
Your rendition of Vaughn Williams 'Evergreen' brought such poignant memories! As a youth I was a principal flutist with the national youth orchestra and I played the opening solo of that selection. I had forgotten the interlude and lovely, soaring harmonies carried by the winds and brass. Such lovely cannons! Thank you for the memories! It is difficult getting old because though we gain the wisdom of the years of living, we lose a part of our loves that made living bearable in our teens. As tears of longing flow down my cheeks, I close my eyes and let the tender moments of playing in that orchestra swarm my mind and your playing warms my heart. Thank you, yes sincerely, thank you for that beautiful selection.
Fantastic concert, thank you. I watched this remembering my uncle George a RM bandsman lost at sea whilst serving on HMS Hood. RIP hero.
Absolutely fantastic concert.
Violin in metals, absolutely fantastic!
Nice to hear and remember the great epic of "Maximus; The Gladiator"!!!
Great to hear Two Steps From Hell reaching a wider more mainstream audience.
Respect for all solders who fought and died for our freedom ,so that we can live in a free world and it is OUR responsibility to keep this world free and safe. so that their deaths have not been in vain. I like those old stile uniforms on 1:27:00 more than the modern ones
(52:25 - 1:07:53) Loved the Tom Jones covers! Amazing job George & Sam & I’ll Never Fall in Love & Green Grass of Home was great too!
1am in Northern Rivers, Australia and I'm loving this. Spectacular!
Love to Australian brother.
Much Loved From your Friends in the Hoopeston, IL. USA.
The common theme across everybody who was there is pride. Rightly so.
One impressive display of excellence in music...
The best band music ever. It's on my daily playlist.
Am watching this from New Zealand & just loving it; after watching the beautiful farewell to Prince Philip yesterday this is so fitting. I emigrated from UK in 2002 but am so proud to be British.
Just found this out of nowhere. This is a stunning performance. Much love from your allies across the north sea, The Netherlands
You might enjoy the Beating Retreat on Horse Guards Parade video from 2014. It was the 350th anniversary of the Royal Marines, and they had the Royal Netherlands Marine band and US 2nd Marines band as guests participants.
Oh dear… I pray now for mercy for them all
Great band music. 12.45 am so had to listen with the headphones. Tony, Sydney, Oz
How beautiful a concert and how appropriate was the Sounds of Silence when yesterday Simon Biles pulled out of the Olympics due to mental health.
I see that the conductor, the one that did the Tom Jones segment, has a Mention in Dispatches! Not too shabby for a band leader!!
They do more than just play music.
@@cdrchip4969 I was wondering if the band were full time or do active duty also.
@@maevephipson2803 As I understand it, their active duty is in the band, but they are also called up for operational duties, not as commandos or infantry, but as medical assistants, vehicle drivers, and the like. A number of band members deployed to the Falklands, and there were 22 who went down with HMS Hood, for a couple of examples. They had the second-highest casualty rate, to bomber command, of any command in WWII.
Watching this 30th May 2023. Just Brilliant. 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this wonderful concert. By chance I found it earlier and saw it in full length with enthusiasm. Just beautiful. Connected greetings from Bielefeld.
This presentation was a spectacle! Thanks for playing Tico Tico, it was amazing! Save from Brazil to the United Kingdom.

Excellent music by the massed bands of The Royal Marines !! Thoroughly professional, and quite superb !!! From Delhi, in India !!! 🌹
Awesome that they use songs from different genres than march songs, like Hans Zimmer`s Gladiator score and Two steps from Hell songs.
Maravilhoso o arranjo para a música brasileira "Tico-tico no Fubá" de Zequinha de Abreu ♫♫♫ And I loved "Somehere over the Rainbow". Congratulations!!
To the young lady who sang the first Tom Jones tune, you young lady have a wonderful voice.
Michael, that is Sam McEndoe ( spelling ). A beautiful voice indeed!
Check out the RM Band video of Sam singing I Vow to the my Country.
I have watched it at least a dozen times!!
@@rodfair5698 that video is beautiful sends chills down my spine
@@rodfair5698 McIndoe. Agree totally.
Also guys and gals, to avoid putting strains on your marriage, do NOT, I repeat, do NOT burst into spontaneous applause at 3:30 am, when the better half is asleep!!!
About time for the RMBS to join youtube! Quality videos, hoofing!
Beautiful music so many talent people ❤️😊🙏
Love this performance
Thank you Massed Bands of the Royal Marines for another wonderful performance

Wonderful & Amazing...
very good, emotional at times
Fantastic!!!
Greetings from Mexico City.
Wonderful Concert
Wonderful and uplifting.
It would be great if the United States was to create a symphony "band" like this, comprised of the best of our five branches (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy) and hold concerts like this on Patriotic National holidays, and travel the country and internationally ! Oops, forgot about the "Space Force"...sorry 🙄 (I don't think they even have a band yet 🤔)
I went to this concert with some friends.
It was the last time we all got together prior to the dreaded plague and lockdown.
Hopefully, we will be able to return to some normality in time for Trafalgar day in October. 🇬🇧
LA PANDEMIA COMENZO EN MARZO 2020,ASI DE QUE FECHA HABLA USTED
@@nonnopino49 That is correct.
The concert was the first weekend in March 2020 and the lockdown started in the third week of March 2020.
Thank You.!
Bravo! Bravissimo!
Thank you, Heather. Nicely done.

Outstanding 😎 Phoenix, Az

It's so sad that we have NOTHING like this in the U.S. -
Aping to see and watch the Royal bagpipe section.
clarinetista tocando tico-tico no fubá parecia brasileiro da gema com belíssimo arranjo !
Wow.
Volviendo a escuchar vuestra magnífica e INIGUALABLE MÚSICA. Así se hace mas amena la espera del próximo concierto. Muchísimas gracias. Son los mejores😊🎼🥁🎹🌟🌟
Send chills to me,,,beautiful music.
Wow what a wonderful concert in what an iconic venue. I have just found it on RUclips. Spooky really because it was only last night that your special guests Prince Harry and Meghan were on our TV's here in New Zealand in their crisis hour. Please sort it quickly because we all love you all so much.
Back to the concert though, the talent, the presentation, the precision and the selections were such a pleasure to sit through in this barren year, barren because we have missed Elton giving his final concert following his health scare and then Rockin Rod who was due here last year postponing for approx 2 years. Best wishes for a speedy recovery Britain. Nga mihi nui, Selwyn.
Prince Harry and Meghan? On TV again... Haha! So much for the wish of a private life.
Fantastic!!! Hello Brazil! Zequinha de Abreu, eternity!
I have been spellbound on this spectacular show and performance! Thank You.
Amusing to see the Duchess of Hollywood humming the tune! 🤣
Dragonwing was amazing. Never thought the Royal Marines would play it though !
In loving memory of my late foster brother (Major Vernon Dowling Wright)
