    You also need to grease the window motivator so that it will last a long time. metal rubbing on metal will wear out the motor faster. Silicone lube for the window channels.

    There is a product you can get at most auto part stores called dielectric silicone grease.
    It will help lubricate the glass travel and not deteriorate and dry out the rubber like petroleum grease will.
    You can use it on the door seals and other weatherstripping too.
    Softens them up for better seal.👍🏻

    Only use silicone spray on rubber window track. Grease will get hard and tacky after a good rain. Also, petroleum based lubricant deteriorates rubber.

      No grease on the rubber only silicone spray

    I just did this today. I had more problems with the panel than he actual window. But now the window goes up and down normally.

      @@cmacia06 i spoke too soon. It went out of alignment after a few weeks. I'm going to open everything up when it cools off a little and see whats happening. someone had posted in another video about using a spacer on the bolt in the bottom. I cant find where i saw that though.

    Hi mate I have the same issue tried your method worked for a while then went back to going off track again :(
    Was thinking on my car the rears are manual windy windows. What you think it’s possible to have the fronts changed to wind down manual and fit the manual wind down handles think it would be possible? Becuz I’m sure once it’s changed to manual the chances of it messing up are very minimal

    mine doesnt close all the way up and it clicks when its all the way up but like an inch is still open

    • @cmacia06
      @cmacia06  9 лет назад

      Shoot plenty of wd-40 in the channels/rails and guide it up. If it still gets stuck then you should check the metal cables that pull your window. My windows cable didn't fully tear but some strands of metal cable were tangling the cable and causing it to get stuck.

    • @Gladius797
      @Gladius797 9 лет назад +2

      +Christian Macias I tried but it doesn't seem like it's stuck because of friction, it closes fine until it gets to about one inch to being fully closed, then it starts clicking loudly in the same place

      @cmacia06  9 лет назад +1

      +Agrezziv That definitely sound like the window regulator cable is tearing.

    Mine keeps coming out of the run channel towards the top. I'm gonna try this hoping it fixes it.

    • @cmacia06
      @cmacia06  8 лет назад +2

      +Jason Ricci honestly, I did this and it eventually came back out. The issue is the channels get so old that they create friction leading to the windows falling out of alignment. I fixed this temporarily by aligning it again, greasing it, and then when they slowed down I would shoot wd-40 just to prevent it from falling out. I fixed it "permanently", by grabbing a newer looking on from another junked civic. Now they roll up and down fast and smooth.

      Hey Chris, thanks for posting this video. What yea is your civic and what trim ? I have seen different types of windows regulators for these civics.

    • @cmacia06
      @cmacia06  7 лет назад

      The one in this video is an ex 4 door. I believe all the 4 door and power window civic (96-99) have the same window regulator

    • @DK_427
      @DK_427 7 лет назад

      Christian Macias thanks ! Did yours come off the track again after the fix ? I heard some people add washers between the track and the door so that the track isn't tight against the door.

      great video by the way, i'm having the exact same issue although I bought a brand new seal from Honda and fitted it this morning, although the window is now jumping out of the seal at the top (i did apply a healthy amount of silicon lubricant to the seal ) .
      I also tried your method of loosening the regulator bolts and pulling the window into shape, however after checking again, it just appears to be too much play in the mechanism so it looks like I need a new one unfortunately.
