Hey guys, so thanks to those who added this. 1) he will shield physical or magic based on your HIGHEST units atk and element. So manipulate your stats. For example, make someone magic atk highest stat and element u have less of and then the other 2 dps give the opposing element. Thanks to those who provided this info
It's all about does it heal to full. It heals 50% of max Hp. If it heal to full, it won't break down. If it Hp won't reach max, it will break down. So you need deal more than 50% of it full Hp before heal.
5:52 so yes you need to bring both wind and lightning. BUT you dont need to have each character using both. In fact the trick with this boss is that it will resist the highest attack (matk or patk) element. SO what you can do is have aerith built fully matk based with wind, bring tifa built for healing and lightning physical, bring cloud with lightning physical. Note that both tifa and cloud's base (not r ability) patk MUST BE LOWER than Aerith's base matk (also not r ability). This team comp will make is so that the boss will ALWAYS only resist aerith's wind damage, while tifa and cloud can just freely hammer with lightning physical. Also all three characters should have the cure fog materia to help with healing and preventing fog.
Ya someone mentioned the highest atk units element being shielded which I actually wasn't aware of so good info there. I've never seen the fog issue yet but that's cause most my units are physical in this fight
@@PayneBlade ah that might be what it was. my old team was using magic sephiroth and I was getting whole team fogged so I equipped cure fog thinking that just part of its attack rotation.
i just simply used lightning cloud, wind sephi and aerith for healing with 1.9k heal, i spammed heal a lot while the other two was destroying it xd i didnt even use ramuh bc ive been really lazy about unlocking summons :')
I completely fail at "Unlock Battle 5" (Stg. 10)... No matter how I build my team, the Balloon basically gives itself Storm Barrier, which means I can only attack with wind and I don't do anything like that with wind a lot of damage, like with lightning, because I don't have the equipment for it... I also don't understand why he always only gets the Storm Barrier, even though my Aerith with Wind Weapon has more MATK than my other two characters with Lightning have in PATK...
@@PayneBlade I’ve been hitting it with 3 Aeros and it still always puts up the lightning shield. There’s multiple threads on Reddit, forgot which one exactly. People were saying pdef/mdef shield is based the opposite of the unit with the highest patk/matk not finding that to be true either. It’s gotta be based on total stats, CP, or something. He might be seeing your team and seeing it as equal and maybe just deciding on its own… Or hey maybe it’s glitched…
@@PayneBlade ok. For reference my cloud is 70 physical thunder and 2nd place Aeris is 65k mag with aero materia. I’m barely missing the damage threshold. It’s annoying but I’ll get it soon.
That damn son of a baloon took me more tries than I dare to count to beat it, but at least it's done. The only change I would make is to equip Cloud with Ramuh instead of Seph, you can get a decent lightning boost just with Murasame even if you don't have the garb, and it also helps to equip Cristal Gloves as sub equip
I set my Tifa and Cloud up for Physical Lightning damage, and gave my whole team Aerora. Spam Aerora on everyone to "trick" the boss into negating Magical Wind and then just pound him with Lightning Phys. It's a really easy fight.
@@PayneBlade Yeah there is a version of him in one of the current very hard dungeons but he's also weak to fire, so it was even easier to manipulate what he negated
Bring 1 magic dps and 1 physical dps both with wind and thunder. It can only have either shield against physical or magic not both. So if he has a sword he is weak against magic if he has a staff he is weak against physical. If you bring 2 physical dps he would shield against physical making all moves blocked. Its an easy fight just remember don't bring to of the same type of dps.
Overconfidence with this boss and laziness, gave me some trouble. That tip for solo exp farming gave me another reason to go for it. Changes some r weapons, and easy clap. 😅
i did obv.... but this is not the correct boss choice for an event like this when devs job is get new players...this is what is wrong with this title .. title always find a balance for make new users join (new users is the fuel of gacha not the whale cos they are limited in a gacha).... also devs thinking as mmo but this title is not an mmo.... hunter here
I ended up just killing him quickly. Use ur limit break to make him restart his animation. As he is casting it, cast your limit right at the end of his animation (before it hits you) and he will have to recast it again
Way I understood it was the token per stamina was equal across the board. Gil is same ratio too. And xp was more but it’s like 1.5% only. Overall it’s better but more fights.
So last stage with x3 gave 990 Gil, 201k exp and 90 silver bombs and 190 gold bombs. Stage 1 gave 780 Gil, 45 silver bombs, and 135 gold bombs with 3k more exp
@dustinbenton5853 LOL. So you're telling me, if they tell you to do something, you'll just do it without verifying? Past streams with the pulls that they had were specific to the Events and Dungeons then. They do not know the future. Stages have a preview of enemies and their weaknesses. When is it hidden or ????, just go in, battle each stage/boss to show the weakness permanently, then experiment on what you need by going in again. You do not lose anything with battling to observe patterns and weaknesses.

I'm surprised so many people are having so much trouble against this boss since it isn't new. I remember it being tough in the story mode since I hadn't done any levelling outside of the story missions at the time. But I would have thought that people would have learned how this fight works when they fought it in the story. Maybe a lot of people skipped the First Soldier story content.
genuinely surprised people who have been playing for a while had a hard time with this fight, I just used the exact team I use for character for memory farming on auto lol.
Im surprise people still have problem with this guy, he been around since the beginning i think . I just auto him but i think he one shot my aerith later so i had to use my limit to finish him off once his maintenance fails
Shit, I don't understand any of this, can anyone just make this simple to me, I can't even get past the 2nd unlock even though my power lvl is 20k above the recommended!
It's not messed up though. People are used to being able to over power their way through challenges and events. This event makes you have to play strategically. People need to change their mindset is all
So then lets just get rid of recommending a power level. The game is set up to power through if your level is high enough, and people have that mindset, because that is how it works, so to suddenly have one fight where the difference is so great and is hard to get through for many people is indeed messed up.
@@slaintemhath3475it's not messed up, you just need the right strategy, there are some bosses that are way easier than their recommended power, also the game's ratings aren't always going to be correct.
still cant beat him, same result. he dps one toon down, damage means nothing if you cant heal through is non stop barrage on one toon. sorry this didnt. I cant outheal is damage :(
I built Aerith as a healer and didn't even bother putting any elemental damage on her. She had both a single target Cura and Fairy tale. Also, I do recommend taking down the Dorky Faces ASAP because they can debuff your team (elemental resist down/physical attack down by THREE STAGES).

Yeah I can confirm that if you don't do enough damage, it never breaks down and then it starts Arm Sweeping over and over again

I did this, Aerith with Higher Matt+Aeraga than everyone elses PATT/MATT and it resisted thunder phys.
Oh my god thank you. I kept losing because I couldn’t “trick” him into guarding against wind, and he always picked lightning. Gonna smash him now.
@@dustinbenton5853 try equipping aerith with prism rod instead of aeraga materia. and have the others use physical thundara blow materia.

The first element hit doesn't have an impact on what shield it chooses. Seems to be based on your strongest unit

My biggest issue is he hits with huge damage on one character over and over until they die even with buffs up

It's a decent boost but remember summons scale off atk and magic and seph had a huge difference compared to cloud so in my case it was better on sephi
His arm sweeps keep hitting harder and harder each time. I'm fighting the higheinds version and what a pain!

I never had a problem with this fight. I usually win this fight by wating for the balloon to heal and finish it off with limit breaks
I managed to put enough damage to break him down, but then he arm sweep me every 5 sec. How did yours stop after just 1 arm sweep?
I ended up just killing him quickly. Use ur limit break to make him restart his animation. As he is casting it, cast your limit right at the end of his animation (before it hits you) and he will have to recast it again
This is what happened to me as well. I won the fight but I had to get double curaga and stance dance every 5 seconds. It was rough
after cast self healing. hit the boss with ramuh.
People have mathed it out and apparently bomb lvl 1 gives better exp to stam than bomb 6
It's 3k more exp for less Gil and less bomb tokens for event. Not worth it imo

ramuh does some work on this guy when he breaks down, just outlast hes hit untill he breaks down
its very annoying when they are immune to everything like wtf you gonna do ? why did we pull for debuff weapons in the first place ? lol
If players went for debuff weapons, it means they are new or unskilled. Never researched the event nor practiced ran before trying to pull.

Debuff weapons are great in 90% of the fights. Just this one requires different strats as the enemy will debuff itself

Yeah, I think it's because I don't have good enough materia or are at a high level as you are.
The fact that they “recommend “ 140,000 and people with over 200,000 have issues says a lot about how messed up it is

U can also try to add sephiroths torn wings and negate a lot of the physical dmg. Try that out
