It's Sunday evening right now in India and I was out with my friends when the RUclips notification popped up. I am going to be honest, I teared up. It was tough to explain my friends why I am all sad for two RUclipsrs half a world away. K&N, you've touched and inspired many lives that you guys don't know about. I discovered this channel last year as I was recovering from treatment for throat cancer. Cancer is treatable and it's something that you can survive. I'm glad for the transparency about your condition and know that you're not alone. I had my yearly CT scan recently and I'm blessed to still be cancer-free. I will have to have follow-ups for the rest of my life, but it's a small price to pay for being able to live. Stay strong, and keep going.

I, too, cried after hearing it and immediately wrote it down. My Dad had a stroke 3 years ago that left him unable to talk and walk. :( It is so easy to take for granted our health. Thanks for the reminder!

So glad you are cancer free Nate! I went through this with a mole on my chest and did it all by myself, which was tough!! Luckily after the second "dig out" everything came back negative for cancer :) And I actually had my annual full body check today at the dermatologist!!!

Yep, if you’re dealt the skin cancer card, BCC is definitely the one you want. Really odd for his age and in that spot though. Usually they are on the ears/face/nose/shoulders/upper back.

This video was wonderful yet terrifying at the same time. I’ve had a weird “scab” on my head too for a few years. I haven’t thought anything of it until right now. I’m now (tomorrow because it’s Sunday) going to make an appointment to have it checked. Thank you both and I’m so glad Nate is ok.

I started watching your vlogs when we took our babies travelling trough south east Asia 5 years ago, we arrived in Nz to find out I had brain cancer, I have now had 3 craniotomies and I had to be awake for the third One 6 months ago. You sharing your story (being so young) highlights that skin cancer knows no age. I loved you sharing Nate’s g-pa’s quote, reminds me of my g-ma saying “If you don’t have your health, you don’t have your wealth.”
I'm 35 and for the first time in my life I'm actually concerned about cancer, with both you and Bec going through health scares at almost the same time it has made me acutely aware of my own mortality ❤ I'm thankful that you were both in tune enough with your bodies to know something wasn't right and to have it checked out

This was a hard one to watch. We just started the cancer journey and it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done. It’s one of those things that you hear about so much that it almost becomes routine. But then when it happens to you it takes the breath right out of your soul. I’m so glad to see you are cancer free. Your videos make me forget for a bit. Hopefully this will encourage you, Nate: my mom has had multiple basal cell removals since her 40s, and she’s 80 and still thriving, and my dad had a melanoma removed about 5 years ago and is still cancer free (he’s 82). I think this video is an example of hour a real, raw relationship is like. Kara standing there during the entire surgery, making sure he knew she was there, and then being there in every single second and feeling everything as if it was her own health shows how you want to find a partner in life that goes with you for the good, the bad and the ugly. I lost my mother to cancer in 2005, and I appreciate you sharing your story to highlight this horrible thing that can affect all of our lives in many ways. I will admit I had a tear in my eye when I read the video title, but it's good to hear Nate is recovering.

I’m a malignant melanoma survivor and one of the things that really upsets me is when people say, “It’s *just* skin cancer..’ Skin cancer kills people. A dear friend lost her fight with melanoma last year. A common sign of skin cancer is when a sore doesn’t heal, moles that are itchy or changing colors. Black color in a mole is a definite sign to get it checked by a dermatologist who specializes in skin cancers, not all of them do. Lastly, Nate, I’m thankful you got clean margins. God bless y’all!

I had skin cancer removed back in 2007 I was 18 and now I have another spot on my back they are looking to biopsy. Just know we are praying for you and I’m so happy you are cancer free. Nate I know this video was 2 yrs ago. As I am just watching it, I'm in tears, I went through skin cancer last year Melanoma. I'm old enough to be your Momma, so these are Mom tears. I'm so glad you're ok. We did it!!

For those who are very active outdoor or doing lots of hiking s and mountaineering, it is important to make sure you are well protected against radiation. Thank you for sharing your story. I came across this video today as I am recovering from MOHS surgery for a squamous cell carcinoma lesion removed yesterday. It is so important to remind everyone of the risk of skin cancer, no matter your age. Glad you are okay and you were able to have the entire lesion removed. Stay well!

So glad to hear you are cancer free! My husband went through the same thing as you about 5 yrs ago. He had a spot above his eyebrow that would heal and scab repeatedly. Finally got him to go see the dermatologist, his too came back as basal cell carcinoma. All of his yearly dermatology check ups have been clear since, but he is very aware of wearing his hat and sunscreen. We look back on pictures in the years before the diagnosis and that spot had been there for a long time. It is a very slow growing usually non spreading cancer but cancer none the less. You two are an amazing couple and I love watching all your adventures! Take care and God bless!

I so related to how it feels to have to wait for THAT phone call and how scary it is to watch someone you love go through something serious. You all are inspiring me to go on with my life so much. Like you our lives together were based on always going on the next adventure and she would want me to keep going on the next adventure even though she isn’t here.

I work with lots of patients who have all forms of bone and skin cancer so I was happy to hear that summary up front and able to watch the rest of the video without nearly as much worry as I otherwise would have!
