Nate - wanted to say thank you for making my son's day in Niagara Falls and allowing him to get a picture with you. He talks about it all the time. Thanks again!
As an immigration lawyer in Canada, you went through the border perfectly. You were clear and fully disclosed. Good job! Also, nice to see the CBSA Officers doing their job. They gave you clear instructions and asked all the right questions.
As a Canadian who frequently crosses to the US at Windsor/Detroit I was proud the way the CBSA crew did their job - not an easy one at any time. I dearly wish their US counterparts were nearly as professional.
@@coldlakealta4043 I've had both sorts of experiences at the US border but will always remember one particular officer. He asked about any food in the car, my mom said "just a peanut butter sandwich for my son's lunch." His response? "That's what I'm having for lunch too!" Haha
@@BSBSPSensGirl88 We once at Buffalo had a guy confiscate the grapes from our cooler for unclear resons. What's the odds they were "disposed of" in their office?

A few years back I was crossing into Vermont on my motorcycle. I pulled up to the stop sign and waited until the two officers appeared. One motioned me forward. There was a camera and mic overhead. I played it straight, answered all questions politely, cracked no jokes. He completed the routine and I saw him visibly relax. He then asked about the modulated headlight which flashes high-low. Nice conversation. Just remember that they have a job to do and the easier you make it for them the more pleasant they are.

Great to see people doing what you do but in their unique way. I'm too a substantial fan of this channel and I additionally create videos concerning life in Russia. Sadly the youtube algorithm has not been as nice to me yet. Virtually all those that enjoys my vlogs claims that it is brilliant, but not many get to watch it. Can you be brutally sincere and say exactly how I can improve? I value your honest point of view.
Buffalo New York gets lake effect snow like no other place on the planet. When I was in trucking,...I knew,...throw out the dam logs and whatever you do, get thru Buffalo before it hits. OMG! Kara I get that nervous at border crossings too, especially these days with all the extra restrictions. We just drove over the border in Croatia to Bosnia and I was a wreck. Also the passport scene is very relatable too, earlier this week I had a call from airport security to say they had my passport as I left it at the airport in Croatia, so thankful they found it and gave it to me, I hadn't even noticed it had gone! 😅

Binge watching this channel for a month now. You are great. One thing, I am not an expert but I know some things, the van's engine sound a bit rough, it might be a loose belt or the timing chain. It wouldn't be something the van's computer can pick up because you would a warning light on the dash. Just a precaution check it over with a car mechanic.
it’s funny that this is your new “travel day” type vlog 😅 when nate said it’s been 40 hours since you left nashville, it reminded me so much of the hours-long airport videos
As a Canadian, I have never had issues entering the US. The US border guards have always been very professional and polite. I've actually had a more challenging time re-entering Canada. The Canadian border guards are polite but ask many questions about how much you spent in the US to determine if you owe an extra duty. Its great having such a great relationship between these 2 great countries.
Interestingly enough, as much as you were surprised you could not bring pepper spray from the USA into Canada....it is equally prohibited to bring a Kinder Egg into the USA. Kinder is a chocholate egg with a small toy inside. Just as with the pepper spray, you can be charged, prosecuted and possibly incarcerated. I really enjoy your videos, fun and uplifting. Keep up the good work.
I really enjoy seeing you two doing “touristy” things and having a great time! (Also pepper spray is also not allowed in Barbados… brought some in without knowing.)

I have been there just before I turned 7 years old with my parents and my sister and that was during the summer of 1977. I remembered seeing the falls and even been on the boat. I was little so I just remembered the little things that I did when I was little. My father did drove a station wagon with a pop up camper. The car was a Ford and white color with that wood on the sides.

First time to your channel...most definitely not the last. Oh you sweet, sweet people. I'm so sorry for your difficulties crossing into Canada. I'm sure it makes you feel NO better to know that it's the same for us Canadians crossing into the US. I'm glad you graced us with your visit. Happy, happy travels. ❤
To really feel the power of Niagara Falls, on the Canadian side, if you go to the huge shop close by the falls, there is an entrance to where you can go down to BEHIND the falls. That’s where you would feel the power & the roar of the water is deafening. Canada wins for tourism sights & to do stuff at the Falls. ❤ Treat yourselves to the Canadian side for a few days at the Falls. Tons to do. Great for children too.
I grew up in Western NY and went to Canada a gagillion times. I remember one time going up and the Canadian boarder patrol officer asked "How long do you plan on staying in the US?" I said, "Umm forever?" He said, "I mean Canada...it's been a long day." He let us through without any other questions :)
Oh man just watching you having to answer all those questions at the border crossing made me nervous! So glad you guys made it through! I’d be soo nervous, even if nothing was wrong. Also, there is this weird like glitch right at the end where you can hear you guys saying hello to your friends and this pink background shows up with writing and then just as quickly disappears. Am I the only one seeing it?
You are not, it appears that they were streaming the video to something in the van and the connection got disturbed for a moment. Happens at 15:40, just says Media Offline in many languages. For border crossing usually the USA into Canada isn't too bad, but for anyone who is not from the USA trying to go from Canada into the USA, oooo buddy it is hell. Even just Canadians trying to do it. You basically have to know someone in the USA to vouch for you.
When you were driving up the 190 through Buffalo to the border, did it smell like Cheerios? There's a General Mills plant to the left of the 190 and when theyre cooking their oats the whole area smells like cheerios
I agree with Kara on talking to officials. It's so nerve wracking that you forget what to say and it makes you sound like you're lying even if you have nothing to hide.
My Pop did the same thing. Asked the same question & couldn't remember where he lived, looked over to my Mom, got the answer & told the Border Control Officer. Well, of course we got pulled over & they spent about 30 minutes checking out the van & all documents. I was about 8 & I still remember the day clearly...just craziness. My Mom was so upset with him that day....
One time they asked me where I lived and I COULD NOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME REMEMBER and instead went with "Just outside Toronto" and he was like, "WHERE just outside Toronto?" and *finally* I remembered. Scared me to death.
The guy technically asked “where do you live?” And I was ready for Nate to say either “in this van” or “we travel full-time, we don’t really have a home” and for shenanigans to ensue.
I’ve done the border crossing at Niagara Falls many times and it’s always backed up coming into Canada. Anything less than a 45 minute wait is good. And the Canadian side of the falls has much better viewing than the American side. Plus, it’s usually a lot drier. Welcome to Canada, bienvenue au Canada!

Love seeing you make it to the part of the world my wife and I grew up in. My wife grew up on Grand Island-right in the middle of the Niagara River just south of the Falls, so was great so see familiar sights. Enjoy Canada!!
Canadian American here. This video made me nostalgic - my family has a property in the Niagara Falls area; I've traveled across at that border crossing more times than I can count, and for what it's worth, crossing (even for citizens) has never been as much of an asspain interrogation as it has been since Aug 2020. I'm not sure what your experience was going back, but crossing back into the states took only 30 seconds.
We loved the Maid of the Mist! We went at the end of July one year during a heat wave and it was around 100 degrees. Very hot for the area and they kept trying to give us the ponchos and telling us we would get wet! Lol. We were like no kidding, that's why we want to ride the boat, it's a heat wave! Plus, we don't want any ponchos!
FYI: Pepper spray is illegal in Canada, EXCEPT when it is labeled as BEAR SPRAY. (must have USEPA on the label) And you are only allowed to use it against bear attacks. Any other use is illegal.
Welcome back to Canada! ❤️ I live so close to the border, Hamilton Ontario. So cool you guys were in the area kinda or even maybe driven past the city on the way! Just love how the RUclipsrs come together...We love it, we're here for it and I speak for us all, WE WANT MORE!!! LOL! Glad you're doing well Nate and keep care of that noggin' of yours!
That sound clip at the end... it made me smile SO much! ❤️
Same 😁
Do you know how many times I’ve tried to pause on that red screen at the end and I can’t and it’s driving me crazy?
GOT IT FINALLY!!!!! It says “Media offline” in 10 languages. Do I win a prize? :-)
@@fivemjs I watched at 0.25 x speed to see it also...🤯
@@Psychphuq yup. It was driving me nuts even on that speed Because I had to pause and unpause it 1 million times but I couldn’t let it go. I knew it wasn’t important but my stubborn brain didn’t care.
Aw, Americans visiting our country is always so cute! I remember taking the streetcar in Toronto with a middle aged Wisconsin couple and they always asked adorable questions.
Funny you don't run into the ones travelling through the Western Provinces to get to their separate state of Alaska, and mouthing off to us Canadians as to why we have socialist medical care, can't own guns to defend ourselves, or live in two-bit Third World country that they could invade and take over tomorrow if they wanted it...........
United Statiens, If you live in Canada you are American also
@@eugemorin7786 Oh no don't make that mistake. They get visibly upset if you compare them to their neighbors.
We ARE NOT American!!
Your videos always give me comfort and a laugh whenever I need it. Thank you for being awesome!!!
I just rewatched all your videos from the beginning (again) and just wanted to say I am loving the van life videos!!!💓💓💓
DH&I went to Niagara Falls for our honeymoon in 1977. Back then, we just needed our driver’s licenses. A lot has changed since then.
We currently live 1.5 hours drive time north of you. OldestDaughter, 2 friends, and I went to the TPAC to see “Hamilton”. Fabulous, just fab-u-lous!
I’m from western New York and have been to The Falls many times. My favorite time to go is in the winter… very beautiful. Thanks for sharing this video Kara and Nate.
I've lived in Buffalo my whole life & taking a day trip to Niagara Falls is something we do a lot! I believe one of our school trips was to go on the Maid of the Mist. SO cool to see you guys do something I've done quite a lot, and drive around the same roads I drive almost everyday!
If you get stuck in Buffalo during a lake effect blizzard in your truck.....you're an idiot. i remember it being a very clean blue collar city.Once spring clean up was done.
I also had a elementary field trip to the Maid of the Mist! Must be a buffalo thing!
It’s so weird seeing it happen
I live in Syracuse so little farther than you are but I went with my cousin and my grandma and my aunt and it was just me not my siblings or my mom and it was the best trip of my life
My mom grew up in Niagara and my grandma is laid to rest there. Niagara/Buffalo is very special to me ❤
So much love you have for one another, and so much fun you both have together. I throughly enjoy watching your videos. Keep on keeping on.😊👍🙏
you guys are honestly my comfort RUclipsrs, I love watching you guys so much, every time I’m struggling with anxiety I come and watch you guys and it helps sm! I’m guessing you won’t see this but I really do mean this! Tysm for everything ily guys sm! ❤️
“How am I so bad at wearing a poncho?” 😂😂
Never commented on a RUclips before, but I felt like that one liner didn’t get the credit it deserved.
First if all you would say it as Never commented on a RUclips Video Before.
So fun to see you guys drive through our City, Buffalo! The Maid of the Mist is a gem for sure. Amazing experience, albeit, a wet one! 😂
"Im still peeing!" 😂😂 Lost it
Ive just had a really crappy day, and I’ve been watching your videos tonight to cheer up 😭☺️ thanks for the wholesome, amazing, well made, content. You guys make me smile every video! ❤️ good luck on all your upcoming adventures!
Oh my! I did the candian boat tour 2 years ago under the falls! I loved it! Was so fun to watch you guys do it I also highly recommend zip lining over the falls!
I've seen your Canadian adventures from Eamon and Bec and Kinging it's perspectives! Can't wait to see yours!! 🥰
Ditto!!
I have never actually been to the american side of the niagra falls, but i can say it is the most spectaular view i have ever seen from the canadain side..
Welcome to Canada - thanks for the bonus episode - have a great time
I think Kara and Nate has the best thumbnails always😍😂😋 amazing vl9g guys. Keep rocking❤🤩
Great video guys! I live in Canada and didn't know about the pepper spray thing. Hilarious.
im having a hard time since I got sent home from school and i dont get to race with the rest of my cross country team you guys make it so much better
I loved the editing for this video, especially the first 3 mins. Totally on point, it captured the mood after the last video and this may be the purest video I've ever seen on your channel ❤️
You guys rock, I hope Nate is feeling better. Have a great time in a Canada and thanks for the video!
It's so crazy seeing your post on Instagram about all of these adventures and then a few weeks later seeing a full vlog over the experience!! Thank you for sharing your adventures, it looks amazing!!!
I think this is the second time you've been right behind Adventures of A + K, fellow youtubers and van lifers. Love you all! The boat ride looks joyful 😍
It's 7:30 guys you better go to bed
watching people travel through where i live is one of the coolest things ever. 📍BUFFALO
"I just know I'm gonna bang my head on something"

That was the first Kara and Nate video I watched and I was hooked, watching her jump in the water 🤘 that was cool or cold haha
😂😂😂
I cheered with you when you entered Canada. It's so exciting to have you guys in my country!
Gosh 2003 6th grade... in 2003 i was graduating HS... Ive been to Niagara like 6 times but only once on the Maid of the Mist, but back then you got a real rain jacket!!
I was having a rough morning but my day got so much better when I saw there was a mid week Kara and Nate video posted! I look forward to your videos each week so much! Even my 8 month old baby likes to watch them 😂
First time to your channel...most definitely not the last.
Omg I loved Eamon and Becs video! Can’t wait to see yours!!! So excited! And love you both! ❤️
😭😭
Won't happen anymore. Will be difficult now
@@youandiryan totally.
I have enjoyed your videos I love how Nate shows his love for you
Oh man just watching you having to answer all those questions at the border crossing made me nervous!
General Mills plant not Kelloggs
@@leowasescha4658 you’re right, it was early for me and my brain wasn’t working yet
@@ROSE-nr1ln go away.
I agree with Kara on talking to officials. It's so nerve wracking that you forget what to say and it makes you sound like you're lying even if you have nothing to hide.
Welcome to Canada.
I can so relate to Kara.
Border security: "Where are you from?"
Me: Ahhh... brain freeze.
I can just see myself now...
Security: "Where are you from?"
Me: "The US..." :smirk:
One time they asked me where I lived and I COULD NOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME REMEMBER and instead went with "Just outside Toronto" and he was like, "WHERE just outside Toronto?" and *finally* I remembered. Scared me to death.
The guy technically asked “where do you live?” And I was ready for Nate to say either “in this van” or “we travel full-time, we don’t really have a home” and for shenanigans to ensue.
@@judyw2827 Ha! Me too. =D
I DON'T KNOW WHY AM ENJOYING YOUR CONTENT BUT AM JUST A KID BUT AM ENJOYING WATCHING THIS
I love you guys so much! It’s so great to know that such successful people like you have been on the same ground I have. You guys are so inspiring!
"Theres the U.S. Border... nobody's trying to get in over there..." I laughed so hard.
It is Buffalo tbf
it’s closed! only americans can come here to canada! but as of november we can go there
@@maddyclarkson3264 Going to say the same thing. USA border been closed over a year. Them mean Canooks might being carrying pepper spray...silly law. What do women use for protection?
@@davidcooley275 We're supposed to trust the Law to protect us. We're not really allowed to play with all the cool firearms y'all are either.
@@davidcooley275 it opens next week for canadians to go over. we have bear spray but it’s not as strong as pepper spray and it’s hard to find so there’s no point of even carrying it
I just started watching you guys today I am in love I can't stop watching this is like my 20 video.
Hey y’all came through my hometown, Columbus! I’ve just recently discovered you two in the past few weeks, but you definitely have me thinking about downsizing and hitting the road.
I’m from Canada and I’m very glad you guys had a chance to travel there! Stay Safe
I will be going on August to see my long distance bf.
Crazy how much of a hard time they gave you.
thats not a hard time at all. they were lucky they were let in.
Yay, you're in my neck of the woods - Southern Ontario. Welcome to Canada!
Ik it’s so fucked here, any weapon of self defence is illegal
@@mrwonderfilled absolutely. its unbelievable. I don't understand how that law was passed.

Welcome back to Canada! ❤️ I live so close to the border, Hamilton Ontario. So cool you guys were in the area kinda or even maybe driven past the city on the way! Hope you guys have an amazing time here and thank you for being some good weather cause it a little bit sunnier then it has been in days! It also has been raining and foggy too.
I'm from Hamilton too, I'm sure they went over the Skyway, it would have been cool to see some video on the highway.
