And so have the 49ers. They have a real QB now, better aiyuk way better, and a better defense.
At this point at the start of 2021, who would of thought that the 49ers were going to play Dan Campbell and this team for a date in the Super Bowl 2 years later?
The lions almost pulled off the greatest comeback in NFL history. They were down 24 with 3 minutes left. Unbelievable effort

As a Niner fan I really think both teams won this game. The Lions showed true grit toward the end of the game and The Niners was holding their own while playing on the road. Much respect for both teams.

Im a 9er fan but mannn Penei Sewell is GOOD! He surprised me the most.. He went against 4 different Defensive ends and he had all there numbers! Bosa got that one sack on him but other than that, Penei locked him up! And then they switched Bosa to the other side to try and get more pressure because there was none on Peneis side
He was holding all game and Bosa still got the most pressures and a sack.

Jimmy Garoppolo had a great performance for the 49ers. Jared Goff tried to rally, but came up short. So close, but what a performance in his Lions debut.
Very glad ur complimenting both qbs which is well deserved the 49ers have a better team and win but give Goff a year or 2 and he will take them to the playoffs
Goff had a similar game against the Bills last year. Down by a lot and almost made the comeback.

2023 NFC Championship game
As I said when I was in Detroit last February I do wish the Detroit Lions and Dan Campbell good luck.
The city needs something to cheer for!
The Lions always try to make things interesting, but the end result was expected. SF was just simply better and more talented than Detroit. Wasn't expecting us to win due that we're in a total rebuild, but Dan Campbell has done more in getting these young guys to have fun playing football and putting up more of a fight than what Fatty Matt Patricia has done during his entire tenure.
As a lions fan all our games be the same we gotta make combacks smh
I saw we should maybe win 5-6 games at max. I want a one of the best draft picks so we can pick up more talented young players for the future and to continue with he rebuild

As a Lions fan, I’m much happier with this coaching staff than Patrica’s. They actually made adjustments and still kept their heart in the game.

I am so happy about the coaching staff. As a Lions fan I am so proud of this team they played their heart out and almost won the game. I am disappointed with the defense, but that’s something they can improve on.

Moved to Detroit a few years back but have never been a fan. Went to the game today. Officially a Lions fan! Those last 4 minutes were incredible.
The lack of holding calls in this game was insane.
Holding is and always will be a BS penalty. It happens on every single play. I feel the penalty only exists so people don’t blatantly hold every play and ruin the game

holding isn't called much because you gotta know the rule behind it, a lineman can literally hold if its not at the point of attack and if its not clear to the ref, everything happens so fast you think the minimal number of refs can see exactly if hands are holding for all 5 lineman every play? it hast to be pretty egregious for holding to get called, and though some of those calls were egregious, if ref dont see it, it wont be called.
That’s literally the point of every penalty, to not ruin the game

Not with a qb that refuses to pass beyond 5 yards. Kinda easy to look good and have a good completion percent when you only make short passes. But it never translates to victories

As a fan of Niners, I’m so happy that my team started the season with this huge victory. They scored so many TD and that’s why I consider them to be one of the contenders for winning the SB. Hes a solid QB for getting the job done when he isn't hurt and the team is playing well. I still remember the days where the coaching staff was good and the team played well but couldn't finish then Jimmy G came in and showed us he could get the wins unlike the other 3 we were rotating through. He will be the guy for a while as long as stays healthy.

Great game on both ends, from a Niners fan. We were good until we started fumbling the ball and a bad D, but hey a win is a win. But it was an ugly one at that. Gonna have to congratulate the lions fans though, Goff will give you a good season. Good luck and good game Lions fans.
They just pulled the starters off D too soon because of the Verrett injury and then the bad bounce into Kittle's facemask on the onside's kick followed by the rare Deebo fumble.
