- Staad pro Tutorial of Truss Roof Warehouse Design with Hot Rolled Section. Warehouse required large span for material storage and truss are used when the span is large. Truss roof post can be build up I Section or any other hot rolled section. In this video tutorial I have shown how to do complete structural design of a truss roof warehouse using hot rolled section. This video has all the necessary steps from start to finish. Define material section, draw column, truss and bracing. Then how to define dead and live load and assign them on the structure. Then assign lateral load(Wind) and assign them on the structure as per the local code. After assigning all the load now define load combination as per local code. I have only three combinations, you may have more as per your local code. Then analysis the model and input the design parameter then complete analysis and design and optimize the size of column and truss member and bracing.

Hii sr my question to you is is the column hinged at bottom..?
And also my question to you is if we have rigid or hinged joint at truss end then there will be large horizontal force on column which will induce large moment if bottom end not hinged

You didn't specify the loading type in DL, ,LL, WRTOL, WLTR. I think that is the reason there is 32 warnings

Why did you not rectify the warnings? There are 32 warnings.
if the top chord and bottom chord of the truss frame is a continuous beam, would you need to assign Ly as the span between the ridge and the column ? because if you do, the allowable compressive strength on the chords would be so small that your model would be fail.
and should the top and bottom chord be assigned as truss in the beginning anyway ?
Lateral buckling co-efficient Ly need not be assigned to top chord since the prulins and sheeting above it will take care of the buckling..but coming to bottom chord if no ceiling is present..i guess we need to provide longitudinal ties for every 5m atleast and provide ly as 5..even I guess the truss members only needs to be assigned to ties and not top and bottom chords..
Structure is fail in side sway. Please check the side sway i.e. horizontal deflection should not be more than H/200 or 100.

We calculate joint load from distribute load when designing manually. But using software if we apply distributed load, software will calculate the joint load itself. No variation in result.

Yes. He did consider the panel length of bottom chord as effective length of truss bottom chord, which is going to be a huge disaster unless he provides tie runners at bottom chord
