I will be getting the gigabyte 970 XTREME gaming....these are awesome cards. They used Titan X capacitors and chokes on this card .......well worth the price.....

With the voltage upped to 1.23v, power limit maxed, +35 on the core, & +398 on the memory through afterburner mine runs at 1503/2001 all day long no problem! The Windforce cooler is a beast also, with that OC I have never seen temps higher than 69C! I highly recommend it if you are in the market for a 980ti. :)

Fan speed actually doesn't matter, since the fans are different and don't make the same noise. Also some fans have a 3000rpm max fan speed and some can go up to 3500 or something, so 50% fanspeed isn't even the same rpm. It would make much more sense to measure the noise in decibels :)

On cards like this the ultimate question is not: what about fps?. Is more what about temperatures because is the same core and the same RAM, the only think change on the two cards is the cooling system is useless to compare fps
What were the Asic Quality of these Cards? Do you know even how to overclock bro? nothing bad can happen from overclocking SMH even if you max the voltages the GPU manufactures put a max voltage limit >1.28 in the bios and then there is another voltage limit on the board itself of 1.31.I currently own a Strix 980ti a ASIC of 89% with a unlocked bios and Has a Amazing quality to the card. Tho I need to water cool this card to get the benefits past 1500mhz.
That asus card is more comparable to Titan X then the XTREME is....the XTREME is made with some Titan X components ...but it's not clocked up like the Titan X is....I can't really find that asus for sale...I can only find it on eBay

Because The prices don't make sense to average Joe when you add things up, Like the much higher value of one card to another, But what you get is a tiny bit of performance difference in some games and a different design/paint job/a light source. You would feel slightly ripped off, But if you are nuts over this stuff and have the money then it makes sense.
When looking at fps, the ASUS provides, on average, 3% better performance... for $400 USD more than the Gigabyte. That's 103 fps vs 100 fps for $400 more. WTF ASUS??
