When I think-of “tactical shooter,” I think “where, when and how” to loosely define the term. If we’re putting F2P Battle Royale games on here, Warzone deserves a spot on this. It’s the most-tactical mode COD has, and it’s well-cultivated/functional for consoles. That’s a fact. But stepping-out any other online PvP environment, I’d add Police Stories, Breach and Clear: Deadline, Metal Gear Solid V, Sniper Elite series, Sniper Ghost Warrior series and Door Kickers: Action Squad. Games with strong tactical shooter elements; Mass Effect series, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Cyberpunk 2077, Dishonored series, Metro series, FarCry series, Hitman series, Days Gone, Death Stranding, Killzone: Shadow Fall, and even the Wolfenstein Alt-History series. A fair amount of options are out there, just not all of them military-based, as the list in the video already demonstrates. Wildlands is top-tier for me, next-to MGSV of-course. I can’t imagine one without the other.
It's sad that games aren't more militarized anymore. Everything is either arcade or sci-fi. We need more shooters like Squad, Tarkov, Arma, Hell Let Loose etc. on consoles. Even a dumbed down version would be better than not having it at all.

For current generation consoles I would definitely say Ghost Recon Wildlands, no hud, extreme, with tier 1. My all time favorite has to be Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 for the Xbox 360. For me there will never be another game that comes close to that one. Especially with the timeframe it came out in, only a little bit before the giant COD 4 came out. The graphics, sound effects, lethal gameplay, and especially the online multiplayer as well as the offline multiplayer that I play solo that are fully customizable from the amount of enemies, scenarios, objectives, with nearly 30 maps ranging from all different sizes and terrain. The game definitely a special place in my heart, kinda like The Last of Us or Kane and Lynch 1&2.
I appreciate having shoot outs Against Unidad because they are relentlessly fanatics trying to kill the Protagonists. Especially while evading them in the forest.
Aye, happened to me earlier. In normal shooters you hear shots and you run towards them, if you hear shots in DayZ even some of the most experienced players will run the other way. Personally play on milsim or RP servers but I always play as a sniper. I do love it though, you could go for hours without hearing shots and then get killed instantly, I really love that tension.
GR Game with a Huge Map Like Wildlands and a story like Wildlands and the Movment of Breakpoint with All Customizations would probably be best GR Game ever tbh
Ya I have a love hate relationship with Tarkov......I'll rage halfway through the wipe....can't commit hours a day to get end game gear. Early wipe is fun
You forgot the best one of all. Metal Gear Solid V. As much as I like Wildlands and Breakpoint, they both feel like your moving in quicksand compared to MGSV, and the CQC options and weapon variety dwarfs the GR games.
It blows my mind that we are almost in 2022 and there is not a real tactical experience. Including maximum weapon and gear customization along with your character. I’m surprised no one has taken on the challenge to create one.
Dayz on PS5 is amazing. Played the game for a year in 2020. Got a pS5 February 2021 and it turned Dayz into my favorite game on PS5 along with for honor. I’ve been playing for honor since may and it’s amazing also.

I just want to say. I don't want to fight DRONES in a tactical shooter! Breakpoint would of been much better with actually enemies to fight and not flying drones
You can take the drones off. Actually play it… you can almost change anything and it is very fun to play if you’re looking for a sim/realism type dynamic shooter
I've played a lot of hours of breakpoint is it worth playing wildlands? Like will it feel outdated compared to breakpoint I do love the game mechanics but the story and environment looks really good in wildlands what are your thoughts?
As far as your comment on ghost recon breakpoint goes, it still has a gear score, you can set it to have a gear score on turn it off. Wildlands was awesome as well.
This is just my prefference but I love to play breakpoint with most of the hud off, with the gear leveling on since in my mind its forces me to try different weapons because ,, they are better ,, and of course without teammates because if you play with teammates you are no longer at breakpoint you are a god on the island wreaking havoc with your AI pals who are immortal. And it kinda forces you to use different gadgets you have available if you play solo. Also I am on of the few probably who likes Breakpoint better. Damn I need to install it again xD
So just some advice, if you want to play DayZ as a tactical shooter I suggest joining something called a milsim, it’s more serious than a rag-tag shoot shit type of team but it’s perfect for people who love that military aspect. I’m in a Russian one and we have daily skirmishes with a large NATO force. It’s also amazing to be a sniper on one of them it’s boring for some but I love being able to sit in one place for hours listening to music while preparing to shoot an unsuspecting NATO soldier or just writing down loads of info on a notepad to report to my commander.
Working on wildlands platinum after picking it back up relized it had way more than just the campaign love both wildlands n breakpoint hope next title they give us what we want take best both games n improve
Ghost recon games are my favorite just because this one reason: you can switch views from 1st to 3rd …imo ALL tactical shooters should have this option, in order to achieve a much more accurate shooting, and they would sell so many more games that caters the likes of all gamers…I personally hate so many fps shooters, pretty much the same sh**
I'm very surprised you didn't bring up the division but I'd probably be weird since Tom Clancy all over it would feel off but in my mind I feel it's close ish
I don’t understand how Ghost Recon Breakpoint was so disliked. Ubisoft took it in the Metal Gear direction, and IMO it worked amazingly. I actually consider this a mix of The Phantom Pain and Snake Eater, but better. Phenomenal video game, all it needed was a wing suit.

I understand why they went for breakpoint considering the tricky politics around real world scenarios and countries. But after playing wildlands i don't even think the enemy are as clever anyway. Definitely not as intimidating with their dumb voices or fisher price darth vader fancy dress outfits. They went all in on the things they could do though like a generic sentinel character from America that no one would have any issues with. Ironically I find the drone battles most fun and I think there was actually pride put in to developing those because they had nothing stopping them. I do find the menus and map tedious. Its been used as a sandbox for us to play in and them to work on things continuously in line with feedback. You'd imagine the next game might benefit from breakpoint a lot. When you're from days of goldeneye it's hard to complain too much though 😄

Wildlands is top and stays top
Yep! I agree with u
Try not doing the skills up Sept items and drone to your likings then it's in it full sim
WILDLANDS SUPREMACY
WILDLANDS!!! YES!!! You totally took me by surprise man. That's awesome. And a very valid choice
I appreciate having shoot outs Against Unidad because they are relentlessly fanatics trying to kill the Protagonists.
Especially while evading them in the forest.
I used to love the older Tom Clancy games, and also the SOCOM games for ps3 era were dope af
Those were the days
“Operation flashpoint: dragon rising” was ahead of its time, wish they continued that game onto further generation consoles
The gun shots in dayz are only scary because you’ve spent the last 3 hours gathering materials and it only takes a second for it to disappear
So just like real life?
Brody actually said six days in fahoopha
@0:52 "6 day in Fa Loo Haa" 🤣🤣🤣
Almost spit my drink out.
Its a hard word for me ahah
@@CusterPlays Understandable. I'm not hating at all.
@@CusterPlays Yeah, it is supposed to be actually "Fa-Loo-Juh".
GR Game with a Huge Map Like Wildlands and a story like Wildlands and the Movment of Breakpoint with All Customizations would probably be best GR Game ever tbh
Would have been awesome !
What gun are you using in your breakpoint gameplay , I’m sure I know what it is but it was dark in that room
I think It's the p416, Very similar
Finally I’m not the only 1 worth 1000hrs
Lmao, there are others
I'm still waiting for insurgency sandstorm
Same...We might as well get a chair at this point
They're doing console closed betas and there's a likely release date of September 29th
One of the main reasons that i moved to PC was because of the lack of tactical shooter games in consoles
I cant wait to get a pc brother...
@@CusterPlays its awesome, u will have the choice to make a much bigger variety of content
Me too.
@@RihenSc Indeed. Cant wait to get my own
Ya I have a love hate relationship with Tarkov......I'll rage halfway through the wipe....can't commit hours a day to get end game gear. Early wipe is fun
Breakpoint is great AF right now with all the new settings you can change! World Parameters etc. PLAY IT!
No it’s not, don’t have people waste their money like that bro
Think I'ma needa get me a PC..thanks for the mentions though bro. Going to look into it.
You forgot the best one of all. Metal Gear Solid V. As much as I like Wildlands and Breakpoint, they both feel like your moving in quicksand compared to MGSV, and the CQC options and weapon variety dwarfs the GR games.
Only because I see it more like a stealth based game than a tactical squad based shooter
But its an amazing game for sure!
Great outlook on these games. I wish game developers would listen to their customers.
"Six days in Falluah" Ah yes my favorite game
(dont worry cluster you got epic english dont mind me)
Lmao, i wont worry because u got my name wrong hehe
Is that game still coming out? Because of all the drama i heard about it..
Kooper yeP
It blows my mind that we are almost in 2022 and there is not a real tactical experience. Including maximum weapon and gear customization along with your character. I’m surprised no one has taken on the challenge to create one.
I prefer what Breakpoint offers in terms of a realistic tactical experience. Personally it feels better for me
I just want a return to the gritty, realistic Tom Clancy games like Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, Ghost Recon 2, and Rainbow Six Vegas
Same man, same
Ghost Recon 2 was a mess with that bizzare over the shoulder view and Rainbow 6 Vegas was a boring glitzy mess!
MGS phantom pain wasn't too bad still prefer ghost recon
Yeah its a cool game
Mgsv tpp had best stealth tactical shooter gameplay
@@rocketlaunch99 Its definitely up there with splinter cell as the best stealth game
Insurgency sandstorm is coming out sep 28th old gen and next gen
You mean September 29th.
@@NevadianOutcast on Xbox it says 28th
Dayz on PS5 is amazing. Played the game for a year in 2020. Got a pS5 February 2021 and it turned Dayz into my favorite game on PS5 along with for honor. I’ve been playing for honor since may and it’s amazing also.
Too bad its not 60fps
@@CusterPlays Yeah but on the PS4 the game was unplayable because in cities and military base the frame rate would go to shit when gunfire happened but on ps5 no problems at all.
Currently playing Wildlands , tbh i m loving it .
Its one of the diverse game i have ever played 💥
Its my fav game tbh
Hey,that’s also my fave! Tryna get to Tier 1 rn.
Pubg is another one I think, although it’s a br it doesn’t play like warzone or fortnite. Teamwork and communication is key to winning in any group game and the recoil and the guns is the closest I’ve came to realistic in a video game
I love the Ghost Recon picks. Some could argue, PUBG could be on the list too. Love your channel.
I mean, PUBG is a battle Royale only game. Thats why I didn't include it. I also hate the controls on it, unfortunately
@@CusterPlays it is a battle Royale, also one of the most tactical shooters you can play online. The controls can take a while to get used to though. I guess I’m just used to it. Keep up the great content.
@@TruthPrevails89 It is definitely tactical. Thanks buddy, appreciate it
I agree, pubg with an open server mode would be a milsim
@@CusterPlays pubg at first feels weird and clunky but if you play it a lot you get used to it and then other games feel too light and weightless when you go back to them.
I didnt know 6 Days in Fallujah was coming to console! Thanks!
I liked the way, you replied each and every comment 😁
Nice you made this video on my birthday
Ahaha I did? cool!
@@uhuh9595 I did do that man, I play in immersive mode and it's still not that good. Not enough human enemy AI.
I love the way you shoot the guy in dayz like 100 times and he didn't die while saying the guns have realistic damage
That was probably server lag, as Dayz does have some problems. But yeah u know what I meant, specially if you played it
I've played a lot of hours of breakpoint is it worth playing wildlands? Like will it feel outdated compared to breakpoint I do love the game mechanics but the story and environment looks really good in wildlands what are your thoughts?
Wildlands is still sooo much better. Go for it bro
Some of the animations aren't as good as breakpoint but overall it's still a great game.
Wildlands is still a better game than Breakpoint.
Wildlands its betta bro
I just started playing Wildlands about 4 days ago. It's a lot of fun 😊
Co-Op really takes the cake for me if ya wanna have fun! I recommend playing with friends
Text me for a tactical team
Can you make a vid on The Phantom Pain? 🙂
I don't have that one in my ps5 brother
@@CusterPlays no problem just wanted to see your playstyle with realistic ai, the games stealth and awesome elements 🙂
Wildlands’ offline mode absolutely sells it. If Ubisoft closes or shuts down forever, Wildlands will at least still be playable offline.
Damm whats that game at 00:51? That looked sick
100% what I did!
For the dayZ, what server do you play for the spawning with the gear?
Just search PVP servers
@@CusterPlays I’m currently looking for a milsim server on ps5/ps4 thanks to this video! Wish me luck 🔥
Working on wildlands platinum after picking it back up relized it had way more than just the campaign love both wildlands n breakpoint hope next title they give us what we want take best both games n improve
WL is something else..
I mean, yeah, but then again sometimes u just want a good first person game
@@CusterPlays plenty of them…not the case with 3rd person
Its 1st person if ya aim and 3rd person if youre runnin around
just bought breakpoint. 100% hooked!
Imagine a remastered of day z with next gen graphics
Now that...Would be awesome
Day z standalone server (not the modded of the community) still feels like early acces after all these years. we will have to wait until the year 3000 for a next gen day z
It's not about the graphics.
It's about the other thousands of issues with DayZ.
@@sergiocolautti For me its the frame rate that kills it
@@CusterPlays The clunky movement AFTER THESE YEARS bothers me the most, nothing has become smooth and verhicles are still a deathtrap. To be honest never had to much framerate issues expect when someone logs in in the same sqaure then it glitches for a second
Thank you soo much this is great keep it up 👍
No problem man! Thanks for watching!
I don’t want to sound stupid but when you were talking about rainbow six siege what game were you playing cause that did not look like R6
Great video, but it really underscores why we need a new SOCOM game. C’mon Sony
I know right?
@@CusterPlays fingers crossed!
What’s socom
I haven't heard anything on six days in fallujah for about 3 months is it still releasing?
They had some PR problems...I have no idea mate
@@CusterPlays well lets hope it doesn't die again console needs a good realistic shooter
What’s ur opinion on operation Flashpoint
I love Siege but Ubisoft switched the team working on it and I’m scared they’re gonna start tearing it apart
lets see what the future holds
when did they?
Have you seen the R6 Extraction clips today? Not sure what they are doing to this once great TC franchise. It could be a good tactical shooter... but why they had to take it sci fi...who knows.
It looked cool in the beginning but ...yeah its not turning out so nice
@@CusterPlays I do like sci-fi games... I guess I just would prefer to see TC games stay semi realistic. If they simply turned the Division into a tactical shooter with no other changes to it, I’d pay full price. I play it every once in a while now... but having to shoot unarmored enemies 200 times ruins it for me :)
I still play breakpoint almost every days but you have 1000h and didn't end campaign?!!!! So what do you do? Only faction missions?
Another thing about enlisted:
If you look in events, there's a modern warfare one that is like squad m
Them: “Best tactical shooters”
First 5 seconds: “Hey soldiers, here’s a blinding spotlight to let every enemy in 3 miles to be able to see you”
Ghost recon wild lands can piss me off at times due to crashes or some hard ass fucking missions but overall one of my favorite games definitely top 3
I've been addicted to ghost recon breakpoint for a while now
On breakpoint how do you tilt the shoulder to peek more when approaching doors and corners?
Question do you need ps plus to play r6s multiplayer?
Okay so hear me out and no it’s not a tactical shooter alone, but that game is fallout 4 with the help of mods and since Bethesda allows some mod on console (more on Xbox and barely any on PlayStation) we are able to redesign fallout to feel more tactical and realistic.
Bro im still playing modded Skyrim over here ahah
@@CusterPlays I love those mods, no game can top that quality mods
Your title says for current and next gen consoles but when I click on the down arrow to see what it's fully about you say for next gen consoles?
Which is it?
personally i feel like the tryhards that don’t play ranked are the problem with siege like yea you can steam roll me in a pub but can you do that in ranked?
Thats not the problem with siege mate. The entire direction is what went wrong
Any tips on how to get through GRecon Breakpoint Red River section (if that's what it's called), encampment under a train bridge. Drones and guys keep killing me with one shot, can't figure it out for 6 weeks now, suggestions please.
I was in a milsim server on dayz, ps4. You can turn off zombies and so on in the files.
Yah, I know, they are cool
Dayz yes i love that game i would never get bored
Yeah it’s impossible to go from WL to Bo and don’t feel underwhelmed
@@CusterPlays yeah and now I'm in a kind of limbo between them both 😄... First world problem
I love ghost recons immersive mode
That first clip of rainbow six where you breach the window….which clip is that? Is that game play? Because it looks like a story mission
Where there dropping from a helicopter on the roof of the house…..I’ve never seen that game play before
Flashpoint Dragon Rising is still probably the best military tactical shooter for a console…
Get you 8 players that know tactics and how to use the AI command system and just play Infiltration…
too bad it released so full of bugs and later Codemasters didnt know how to handle their product
Forgot about Day Z. I’ll have to give that a try.
Its good here and then
Only real homies remember dayz milsim ops
I was there...I saw it :)
