Don, with your definition, a PS3 would a PS2 Pro. A PS4 would be a PS3 Pro. Here is the easy definition on why it is not a Pro: It plays exclusive games. A Pro version of a console does not have exclusive games. All games are also playable on the regular version of the console. The Switch 2 is way more powerful than the original Switch and has its own library of games. (And yes, I know about the New 3DS, but that was an outlier with only about 3 exclusive games or whatever)

The whole controller as a mouse thing was done by Lenovo Legion Go a couple of years ago. From some snippets of gameplay i've seen it seems to work quite well.
There's clearly something that hooks onto and holds the bottom of the joycon in the recess. You can see the indent on the bottom of the joycon. So it's not just held in magnetically.
I think it's a bit silly to call the Switch 2 a pro. The Switch 2 (if the rumors are true) is much more powerful. For a handheld that can be docked, there isn't much you can do about the appearance. And why, it is recognizable. And I'm very curious about that mouse function in games! Please stay away from curved screens, a folding screen or whatever Nintendo, I would like a Switch 3, 4 and beyond. That it is not as powerful as their PS5 or pro, it is a handheld where you have much less space and cooling. If I were a publisher or a game maker, I would always look at which hardware is or will be sold the most and which of those is the least powerful. I would then make the game or have it made for that system and ensure that this game works well on it, and then optimize it for the other platforms.
An epic enhancement to the Switch brand. Let's hope it's a monster underneath the hood. This is how I look at it - Nin keeps raking in the moolah to continue making awesome movies, theme park add-ons and other endeavors.
Mostly a good discussion, but Don's 'Switch Pro' take is so dumb I'm not sure if he was legit believing what he is saying or just throwing shade at Nintendo there. Nice for the rest of the crew to soft-call him out on it. No Nintendo didn't sit on a Pro model for 4+ years. The chip wasn't even designed back in 2021
Imagine a Mario Maker + Paint, where you draw something and link it to the actions of a pre-configured object/enemy. I'd like to see something like that!
Honestly, I don't think the mouse support was done for its first party games, it'll be supported, but it's not the main purpose. Imo the main purpose is Nintendo's bread and butter since the Switch: third party games. People talk about how people buy Nintendo consoles for their exclusive games, but the thing that made the Switch a huge success was all the money they made from third party indie titles. And the vast majority of indie titles are setup for mouse and keyboard.
Idk, i feel like b4 switch 3 or whatever comes next it will ultimately probably catch the base switch. The performance need of games is just getting too great, people will reach a snapping point with switch and give in and buy the 2. At least thats what i feel like will happen.
@@ThatGuyXX7 it had 1st party but no 3rd party support... now imagine playing baldurs gate 3 on the switch 2 and using the mouse sensor... RE4 was so good on the WII... than its PS2 counterpart...
5:30 By that logic the PS5 should just be a PS4 Pro Pro and the XBOX Series should just be a XBOX One Pro Pro. There is nothing radically different about those consoles except for faster CPU, GPU and storage.
5:20 Um, I have been away for a while, but who is this guy? His questions were fine, and even something I have casually mulled over myself, but that was uncomfortable how aggressive he got and seemed to call out Damiani specifically to address his concerns with a console that has just had a teaser released.
I think the joy con still has an IR camera cause there's still a oval there on the right, but oval's also on left and with the smash hit ring fit adventure was i think it's still there
I think there will be some unique gimmicks for the Switch 2. I assume we‘ll get an attachable 2nd screen (therefore the upper USB port) so we can play the DS and 3DS games on the switch. Maybe even in 3D. 😮
On the 2 vs Pro argument, Nintendo is saying this has exclusive games that won't run on the original Switch. PS5 Pro games still play on the PS5. Surely being powerful enough that it can run games that aren't possible on the OG Switch warrants it being called 2. We're also talking about Nintendo who had a nightmare with the Wii U and confusing people over what is and isn't a new system. This makes it clear. People will know it's a new system and they will buy the correct version of games.
Honestly these days gaming community is so insufferable. They complain about everything. Xbox and Playstation are doing this kind of upgrade for decades and now it became problem when Nintendo does.
Would be really cool if a normal bluetooth/USB-C mouse would be compatible. For regular games like shooters, i don't see it going to be utilised often. The mouse mode is pretty much forcing you to game sitting at a table/desk.
Just like hooking up a USB keyboard to the Switch 1 dock I don't see why it won't be possible to plug a USB mouse in for Switch 2 docked. There is a chance that Bluetooth mice will pair as well. Mouse controls will probably be a gimmick in some games but optional in most as a pointer/directional guide instead of a 2nd stick. It opens up the possibility of finer control or to allow for an approximation of mouse and keyboard play for games that otherwise not be able to be played on the platform.
Magnetic sounds bad. Will they come off accidentally when playing handheld? I don't like the secondary colors on the joycons either. Also, why be interested in mouse controls for Mario Maker when you have the touch screen? I'm more interested in what the enhancements are for older Switch games on the Switch 2. Don's question about it not being the Pro is a good question, but it more justifies the saying that Switch 1 is more PS3/Xbox 360 and Switch 2 will be PS4/Xbox One.
Where does domiani get that the held it to stock pile? Wasn't it that they secured a manufacturer? Man sometimes i feel domiani just says whatever theory he gets
Nintendo as a company is innovative both in terms of hardware and software. However, as far as hardware is concerned, the market just isn’t as readily excited about “innovation”. People are just as likely to call it a gimmick. Nintendo innovated the Switch, which is a big enough innovation for multiple generations. People upset about the lack of innovation would be upset that the wheel was still a wheel after multiple iterations. Nintendo has come to its natural apex as a console maker. The Switch form factor is what is going to take them into the future. Let’s not forget that innovation has also backfired on Nintendo from Wii U, to 3DS to N64 to GameCube. They were outside the box with each of those consoles and it bit them in the butt. As far as naming convention is concerned, It only makes sense as consumers have become accustomed to numbered iterations from PlayStation to iPhone to Galaxy phones and beyond. To hold that against Nintendo is being negative for negativity’s sake and having blinders on.
pro talk when switch 2 games wont even be able to be played on the 1st gen switch, by this logic every iphone is a pro version of the first iphone lol its ridiculous
Nintendo is ahead of the game here. Console graphics are getting better, sure, but the generational upgrades are getting less and less apparent. Seriously, I didnt really feel the difference between my PS4 pro and my PS5. The Last of Us part 2 on PS4 is still an incredible looking game. Nerds like us can see the difference in performance, resolution, raytracing, whatever, but many many people/consumers can't, not really. Why do you think the Switch is such a succes? The hardware was already dated when it came out years ago. Hardcore gamers care, but the masses dont, didnt and wont. Nonetheless, with the Switch 2, they're givng the people a console that can (almost certainly) produce graphics the likes of The Last of Us pt 2, AND you can take it with you. Oh AND you can play together on one system, when on the road. If one (the non hardcore gamer/child) doesn't really see or feel the difference (anymore) in graphical fidelity anyway, which console would they prefer? One thats 399 and can be played like a handheld system as well as a regular console, or one that costs 799 and can only be played at home? Nintendo is going to dominate the console market with the Switch 2, saleswise. I'm not saying that that is a good thing for gaming, (nor am I saying its bad) but I truly believe the sales of this thing is going to be bonkers....
Nintendo fans are so sensitive. Just a little bit of criticism and they get their panties in a twist. It's okay to be a little bit disappointed that it won't be much stronger than a PS4 from 2013.
It's a handheld. There's no possible way to get a handheld with even close to the power of current gen consoles while having acceptable battery life, light enough, and for a reasonable price of $500 or less.
The reasonable fans know that Nintendo politely backed out of the console power wars nearly 20 years ago. They are in their own universe doing their own thing. I am happy in that world. I care little for which console has the most pixels and rays traced. I play Age of Calamity on a launch Switch. With the right weapon seals and meals in a dense enemy camp, I can get my Switch below 5 fps for about 10 seconds while the game engine calculates all of the monster part drops. And I enjoy that. My Spider-Man 2 PS5 from Sept 2023 has not left its original packing yet because every time I am getting ready to set it up another Switch game launches which I then drop into and get lost in. Countercultural for sure but that is the world of Nintendoland. Unless you live here you just don't get it

Developer statements are that those combined make it very capable of playing ps5 games and most AAA games are already in development for the console.

The Mario Kart presented was also ridiculously similar to the graphics on the Wii U (Mario Kart 8). People are right to be pissed off.
can switch 1 handle 24 player Mariokart? what happened to everyone wanting a “better switch” suddenly acting like this isn’t what ppl were asking for since 2018 lol
If you want to keep the switchable function, there aren’t many ways to utterly change the design apart from colouring and minor ergonomic improvements.
The chip was already 2-3 years outdated when the Switch came out, the Switch 2 will be a huge upgrade in terms of internal hardware. Definitely not a pro version, deserves the moniker of 2
Don is 100% right on this one, as usual. This is effectively a Switch Pro, and there’s nothing wrong with that. I’ll be purchasing one, and excited to do so, but the only game changer with this console is the supposed mouse capabilities. I’ve heard multiple outlets echo Don’s sentiments, Kinda Funny also said it reminded them of what the Switch Pro was rumored to be.

Hope dlss equivalent can do more magic - Bigger screen/size, but is that actually a good thing? Losing even more portability - Using a number in the name 😠
They scaled back but still moving along. Mike moved for family reasons but stays involved. Still one of my favorite groups to check in with to see what they have to say about gaming.
This is most boring hardware gen from Nintendo. I love nintendo because they're weird and unique with each hardware. This is them playing safe and becoming more like xbox/playstation. Want them unique consoles back.
Unique and wacky Nintendo on a large scale seems to have left with the passing of Iwata-san. His personality and skills/ love of tech brought that to their hardware. Kimishima and Furakawa are straight-laced business guys. The Iwata era goofy Nintendo is not "good business." Their R&D dreamers will be allowed to do stuff like Labo and make a JoyCon a mouse for specific games. They have experienced immense success with the Switch hybrid design form. They created an entirely new mass market with the original and you don't fix what is not broken. They upgrade it a bit and shine it up with new features and different shells. I expect the same for future generations unless the hybrid design factor starts dropping off and the general consumer stops buying hybrids and only wants a dedicated entertainment center box and a dedicated portable thing. With both Microsoft and Sony adding portable gaming as well as all of the handheld / dockable PCs I don't see this trend reversing for a long time. However, I am wrong many times so I guess that wait and see is the only option.
Not sure what they could do that wouldn't just be a gimmick like the Wii and Wii U that would once again alienate third-party developers. The Wii U was a pretty big failure for Nintendo and while the switch has done very well, it hasn't done well enough for them to try and be quirky again.
They are working off of the common info that the sensor imbedded in the rail appears to be the same kind as is seen in laser mice. So turning the JoyCon in a rail down orientation and giving it a sliding baseplate is leading people to the conclusion that they are doing a typically Nintendo thing and adding in a "new way to play." Every element of a Nintendo trailer is meant to communicate a specific feature. It will be surprising if the April Switch 2 Direct does not explicitly show how a JoyCon will operate as a wireless mouse. We will see in 9 or so weeks.
It's not. At least not the one shown here. Maybe the Nintendo Direct will reveal that there will be two versions, but it looks like they're trying to keep the price down.
I rewatch so many of your reactions to different Switch related announcements and presentations, but here I don't even care that you "missed it". They barely shown anything so there's no hype to re-live :/
This will be another underpowered console form nintendo that I will completely ignore because I'm not a fan of their games. And it will not matter, they'll still sell a billion of them.
Why wouldn't they? Whether you like it or not, a console quality on the go is appealing to a mass Market. Of course it's going to be underpowered, when one of Nintendo's key goals is to keep it affordable. The cheapest steam deck is $400 and even that is under powered compared to a PS5 or whatever the hell the current Xbox is called. Then of course, regardless of how powerful the software is, Nintendo has a track record of using it to the best that it can be used to make quality exclusives. The hardware itself may not appeal to you, but do not act as if your opinion is Gospel.
Can people have a normal, civilized conversation, while simultaneously disagreeing without calling them fanboys ? It’s like you have nothing productive to add to the conversation which only makes everyone disregard your opinion.
Yeah look, I really can't be bothered buying games that are just re-re-re-re-re-releases of insipid cartoonish kids games on an under-powered gimmick. They keep innovating everything but the GAMES. And it's those which I outgrew 15 years ago. I'm an adult. I want adult content like blood, loss and profanity. Collecting stars just does not cut it now. And as for the mouse Gimmick.. When have Nintendo ever bothered to entice the PC community? And besides... the PC/Steam market is outselling consoles for the first time since pre-millennium.
Good news. There are 2 major companies cranking out consoles and games that meet your needs. Also, PC gaming... Nintendo is not interested in focusing on this perspective and are making billions without it. They want to be a "family and fun" brand.
I'm with Don. Until we get confirmation of the internals, it makes sense to manage your expectations. As good as Nintendo is at making dreams come true, they have a history of crushing them too.

1:57 "One hand on a control stick, the other hand on a mouse." Blood just described how I play first-person games on PC. I never use a keyboard.
I really hope that you can invite Ben to the Switch 2 Direct as a tribute to the Switch 1 presentation. We need a buddy reunion between Ben and Huber.
PS5 is actually a Ps4 Pro 2
The whole controller as a mouse thing was done by Lenovo Legion Go a couple of years ago. From some snippets of gameplay i've seen it seems to work quite well.
Switch 2 looking great. I can't wait for Nintendo direct
There's clearly something that hooks onto and holds the bottom of the joycon in the recess. You can see the indent on the bottom of the joycon. So it's not just held in magnetically.
Glad to see you guys back in the office again.
Its going to be Mario Kart, Forza Horizon. You travel in a hubworld between the tracks, that are held within the world itself.
Slightly upgraded switch/pro wtf are we watching the same video? This guy is crazy 🤪 😳
Wtf are you seeing that makes it look a whole new generation
the controllers are drifting
nintendo tokyo drift
Mostly a good discussion, but Don's 'Switch Pro' take is so dumb I'm not sure if he was legit believing what he is saying or just throwing shade at Nintendo there. Nice for the rest of the crew to soft-call him out on it. No Nintendo didn't sit on a Pro model for 4+ years. The chip wasn't even designed back in 2021
Damiani you've seen a snippet of 1 game. Wait till they show the next 3D Mario before you judge the tech 😂
On a long enough timeline, the endlessly contrarian takes on Nintendo begin contradicting themselves.
I feel the Switch 2 won't sell as well as the Switch, but it will still sell well.
Seems logical to me, just like the 3ds, the snes and the gameboy advance didn't outsell the ds, the nes and the gameboy
Idk, i feel like b4 switch 3 or whatever comes next it will ultimately probably catch the base switch. The performance need of games is just getting too great, people will reach a snapping point with switch and give in and buy the 2. At least thats what i feel like will happen.
New games will force people to buy Switch 2
@@mikedrzi5240 Wii U had new games.
For Huber's joy: one of the few games that likely won't be compatibile with Nintendo Switch 2 is Super Mario Party: it has been banished!
Haha... i already see the mouse plastic peripherals to be sold for $39.99.
Rts, moba, crpg, city builders, all buffed from mouse support.
Is the PS5 just a PS1 PRO PRO PRO PRO?!
DS coming to online service baby, with the joy con mouse.
The mouse controller is the stylus. Yes
Welcome to Yoshi Burger, home of the Yoshi Burger. May I take your order?
If it really does have mouse functionality how would that work on the couch? I don't get it?
It wouldn't. For most games it will be an alternate control scheme.
5:20 Um, I have been away for a while, but who is this guy? His questions were fine, and even something I have casually mulled over myself, but that was uncomfortable how aggressive he got and seemed to call out Damiani specifically to address his concerns with a console that has just had a teaser released.
Yeah Switch! Magnets!
I can really see the mouse tech leading to a Kid Icarus remake and/or sequel
I think the joy con still has an IR camera cause there's still a oval there on the right, but oval's also on left and with the smash hit ring fit adventure was i think it's still there
I think there will be some unique gimmicks for the Switch 2. I assume we‘ll get an attachable 2nd screen (therefore the upper USB port) so we can play the DS and 3DS games on the switch. Maybe even in 3D. 😮
7:45 Who is that guy? Those are the worst, most nonsensical takes I've ever heard in regards to gaming and that is saying a lot.
6:18 different CPU
On the 2 vs Pro argument, Nintendo is saying this has exclusive games that won't run on the original Switch. PS5 Pro games still play on the PS5. Surely being powerful enough that it can run games that aren't possible on the OG Switch warrants it being called 2. We're also talking about Nintendo who had a nightmare with the Wii U and confusing people over what is and isn't a new system. This makes it clear. People will know it's a new system and they will buy the correct version of games.
I hope that if Nintendo get better performance with the Sw2tch, it'll lead to Valve improving the next Steam Deck.
We made it Allies. 🗣️🤣
StarCraft 3 let’s go!
huber staying based
Honestly these days gaming community is so insufferable.
Finally I can see your reaction 🎉❤
24 letter = X. So mK x ?
I am in on this idea. Great catch.
It has been reported since 2023. Last article I saw mentioning “stockpiling units” is from Dec 2024.
Do some research buddy…

Does the mouse control foreshadow Xbox or PC Gamepass for Switch?
Dude, are they gonna call it Mario Kart World!?
Nintendo as a company is innovative both in terms of hardware and software.
However, as far as hardware is concerned, the market just isn’t
as readily excited about “innovation”.
The series x isnt an xbox one pro is it..
Playing Counter Strike on a Switch is the future
Yeah, baby!~
Im with Don on this, doesn’t mean I won’t buy one but it was a lackluster reveal
I'm sorry, who is the clown in the middle? He has absolutely no idea what he's talking about.
Wtf is Don on about lol
This is about the most nothing reveal ever. I'll just wait till April.
Nintendo fans are so sensitive. Just a little bit of criticism and they get their panties in a twist. It's okay to be a little bit disappointed that it won't be much stronger than a PS4 from 2013.
You have no clue
Unless you live here you just don't get it
And by your comment I'm assuming you're a sony/pc xbox fan? It's natural for people to disagree.. its the whole point these reactions video. If I came out and said sony playsation is the worst thing ever that happened, a sony fan would jump in it's defence because it was stupid bold statement 😆 only a fanboy calls another a fanboy 😅
The internals have been leaked and developers have spoken. We know that the specs are roughly ps4-ps4 pro specs and it adds DLSS and hardware level raytracing. Developer statements are that those combined make it very capable of playing ps5 games and most AAA games are already in development for the console.
Could you atleast try not to constantly talk over each other. 🙏
I go from place to place hearing youtubers praising the switch and the suposed tech evolution, and here everyone (except huber) are so annoying and complaining about everything. Its like those ps5 fanboy channels omg. What have u turn into in these years?
its okay for people to be critical, hush little baby
@@GetShrekd If the critique is warrented sure. But did they have the same critique about the XBOX Series and PS5? No? Why not? Because the boxes the hardware is in look different? Because that matters to me with a games console, how the box looks...
IMO, I don’t think there is any motivation to buy a Switch 2, the Steam Deck is still around and strong, why would you want to downgrade?
100%
Ok..we-re looking for 3 4 switch..another Marion kart ..something delux and Zelda with 30 more frames .maybe another metriod .then we have 7 years of overpriced phone games and low end steam sales games...
damn, nintendo fanboys are the worst. everything nintendo does has to be the best thing in the world and praised by every youtuber.
this was the worst way to reveal a console. ever. I bet you gonna make excuses if games run at 30fps on it -___-
Yes. Nintendo fanboys are insufferable. People just want better optimization from their games, and maybe... just maybe allow your software to come to PC? Nintendo gonna Nintendo.
Nah they good, their doing their own thing witch seems to be working well for them.
Well Sony have the PS5 Pro and still runs games in 30FPS...
@@Echo__plex Thanks god Nintendo is not releasing their games to that shitty platform. PC is ruining gaming.
Don is correct lmao, he's got everyone cooked in the comment section. Love it.
This is not a Switch Pro, because you can't play the new games that is going to come to this console in the original Switch...
don is right, this should've come out 3 or at least 2 years ago
PS1 is totally different from PS2, which has a totally different design from PS3 and the list goes on. The Switch 2, on the other hand, is very similar to the first Switch.
@@nyancorp Not true. Gameboy color is radically different than Gameboy advanced
Is a Handheld what you want?
The series s is just a taller xbox one s
Here comes the Nintendo army.... 😂
The chip was already 2-3 years outdated when the Switch came out, the Switch 2 will be a huge upgrade in terms of internal hardware. Definitely not a pro version, deserves the moniker of 2
I don’t know, but the new Mario Kart’s gfx look worse to me than 8…maybe too early for it yet?!
It’s off screen footage of an unfinished game, we can’t tell anything yet
Don is 100% right on this one, as usual. This is effectively a Switch Pro, and there’s nothing wrong with that. I’ll be purchasing one, and excited to do so, but the only game changer with this console is the supposed mouse capabilities. I’ve heard multiple outlets echo Don’s sentiments, Kinda Funny also said it reminded them of what the Switch Pro was rumored to be.
Nope is not a Switch Pro, sorry
Yay. So I'll be able to play all Switch 2 games on Switch. Because that is what pro console is. Thank you for letting me know.
So by that logic the PS5 is effectively a PS4 Pro Pro?
@@hododod246 nope. you won't beable to. people are just being delulu because it's nintendo. no one called the ps5 the pro version of ps4.

Don not as interesting as Brad..? Come on now 🙄
So because he has a different opinion than you he's not fun to listen to? Haha, okay!
- Worse color scheme/style than Switch 1 and Switch OLED
- Same crappy start/select buttons
- No real noticeable change in joycon comfort...
- Not oled
- Supposed specs are worse than we were hoping for. Hope dlss equivalent can do more magic
- Bigger screen/size, but is that actually a good thing? Losing even more portability
- Using a number in the name 😠
Wow, didnt know eazyallies were still going. Missing a few people it seems. Dom is now a tv lol
They scaled back but still moving along. Mike moved for family reasons but stays involved. Still one of my favorite groups to check in with to see what they have to say about gaming.
@trinity31409 they haven't been on my feed for a while. Always been subscribed too. Strange, thank you.
What you want? Another clone console like PS5 and Xbox SX?
Not sure what they could do that wouldn't just be a gimmick like the Wii and Wii U that would once again alienate third-party developers. The Wii U was a pretty big failure for Nintendo and while the switch has done very well, it hasn't done well enough for them to try and be quirky again.
What makes you think this is mouse functionallity? They are just racing around because of Mario Kart
There are optical sensors on the bottom of the new Joycons. Insiders have also been crowing about potential mouse capabilities for weeks.
@@aster5191 Much more concise than my musings. Thank you.

It's not even as powerful as a PS4 Pro from 2016.....
You know the diff between a handheld and the classic console hardware?
So here in 2025 has Sony made a portable PS4 yet?
Switch 2 is gonna be my first Nintendo console since N64. Hopefully its OLED at release 🤞🏿
Don's right... he always is.
A lot of upset nintendo fanboys in the comments bc the internet has acknowledge this "new" console for what it is.
A Swotch *PRO*
Can people have a normal, civilized conversation, while simultaneously disagreeing without calling them fanboys ? It’s like you have nothing productive to add to the conversation which only makes everyone disregard your opinion.
@mikeg6349 no
Ughh this channel is so dead. You all should've broken off and done your own individual thing years ago.
Thanks for your contribution to the discourse.
shame EZA is empty shell now, what wasted potential. MinnMax is what EZA should be like.
Blah blah blah blah
Then why aren't you over there?
Guess you need to get back to your Nintendo echo chamber
Blood, loss, and profanity can all be found in Bayonetta, published by Nintendo.
I'm with Don. Until we get confirmation of the internals, it makes sense to manage your expectations. As good as Nintendo is at making dreams come true, they have a history of crushing them too.
