The plot twist with Lyria wasn't so surprising if you're familiar with Celtic folklore. Elves and fairies are actually quite mischievous and outright evil.

I ALMOST love intruders because it’s pretty accurate. Real fairies are NOTHING like tinkerbell. They are usually vicious creatures that are easily angered. Lyria probably planned to replace the baby with another changeling. The parents very clearly suck at parenting and honestly I would’ve liked it better if in the end we see the main character playing with her baby brother and seeming happy but then once her parents leave the room her eyes and her brothers eyes turn red and she looks to the forest where eerie snickering and laughing noises play.

Honestly, I liked poof de fromage because it was a unique turn for this usually dark series. I remember the day it aired I had a HUGE expression of WTF when it ended but then it grew on me because of how unique it was. Heck even the atmosphere of the episode knew how ridiculous the plot was! Notice how silly the music was?

    Some of my picks are:
-My Robot (Apparently, I guess I liked this episode at one point because I have it purchased on iTunes. Guess I’ll never see that 1.99 again...)
    -Return Of The Pumpkinheads
    -Goodwill Toward Men
-Bad Egg (Now, I have a lot of nostalgia wrapped around the show so I can watch all of the episodes, including the bad ones like Mrs. Worthington and Near Mint Condition, simply for the nostalgia value. However, this episode is the worst. Like I said, I haven’t even rewatched it due to how bad it is/was.)

I enjoyed Spaceman at first, but after seeing your review, my thought on it has changed. I think they could've kept the corpse idea for homage to Psycho, but they could also include the ghost of the son, like you said. Or how about this. Maybe perhaps the boy has the ability to make himself visible to those who knows about this death. Only his mother could see him, but no one else. So, her son asked her mother to dig up his corpse and place it in the attic, so people can see him. But of course, it doesn't go well. As for the main character, he learns about what happened to the old lady's son, and the son makes himself visible to the protagonist, and then they get to play together.
As for how the boy died, how about even he never had any friends, and instead, was always bullied, and then died by getting set on fire from the gasoline the bullies poured on him. Maybe there might be some flaws to my idea, since I can't even get the corpse idea correctly, because paying an homage to Psycho is neat. But I hope you like my idea.

Wolf Entertainment I understand your thoughts on Spaceman, and I respect it.
Personally, I don't find the Happy Ending that bad. Just my opinion, but I actually prefer this ending more. Also, to me, I wouldn't necessarily say that Aaron went insane to find friends, nor is he stuck living with the skull for the reas of his life.
For my interpretation / assumption on the happy ending, Aaron kinda feels sorry for the skeleton, and decides to be friends with him anyways. I guess Aaron still wanted a friend, even if it is a corpse. Plus, somehow, I feel that Aaron & the skeleton are having fun (at least from my perspective) in the happy ending, and I'm a little certain that Aaron is not stuck living with the skeleton forever, but rather visit him every now and again whenever it's convenient.
But yes, I do respect your thoughts on the episode. Everyone has his/her own opinion.

@@WolfEntertainment Maybe instead of that, how about if Pool Shark was just a plot about rumors of a shark attacking students, which resulted in it being off limit. And Kai constantly gets memory loss, and he seems to connect those to the pool, and then it is revealed that he is the shark from the pool, but then outta nowhere, he sees one in it, and he gets relieved about it. But then it turns out his father was behind the murders, because of sports, like something out of Predator. And when Kai thought he wasn't behind the murders, it turns he actually was. His shark senses manipulated him, because he has a good heart, while his father is cruel, and then the rest of the episode ends with Kai and his father fighting, and they end up killing each other.
Basically, what I got here is references to The Wolfman (the part where Kai's shark senses controls his mind), The Tale of the Dead Man's Float from Are You Afraid of the Dark (which is the off limit pool part), and Predator (in which Kai's father murders people in pools for sports). Perhaps not the best, but I hope it's cool.

Honestly I agree about Pool Shark.
It’d make more sense if they didn’t fall back on the Love Triangle.
Also Night of the Mummy could be interesting if they rewrote the Mummy’s Introduction and the reincarnation twist. It’s just feels like they realized they did it wrong and, instead of just fixing it, just dug itself a hole.
But, for me, it’s “A Creature was Stirring”. There’s no reason to like the characters or anything. *The Episode makes it seem like they deserve what happened and didn’t want the viewer to feel sympathy at all*

Hey I know this is a random video to ask this question but recently I have been trying to acquire The haunting hour on DVD while I'm missing is volume three and I've noticed a large majority of the episodes were never released on DVD and it doesn't look like they're fully available on places like Amazon do you know where they can be purchased if at all anymore?/ also thank you for it providing the endless stream of wonderful content such as this video I am rewatching right now wolf entertainment.

    • @WolfEntertainment
      @WolfEntertainment  3 года назад

As far as we know, the Haunting Hour only released their content from ep 1 to Mascot (season 2, ep. 8) on DVD. After that, the show never bothered releasing the rest of the series. The only place we found the missing tales were on Dailymotion, Netflix (used to carry them), and Vimeo. We were able to get most of the main DVDs that do exist, so they are still available.
Apparently, there was a big copyright struggle between The Hub's & Discovery Family old shows, so quite a few gems were lost like the last half of HH, Spooksville, The Aquabats, etc. We're not sure if HH will ever get the rest of their eps on copies anymore.

I'm not a fan of the parents in Intruders, but I think it is said that they have arranged for Eve to see a therapist to get over her issues, so they are trying to do something, at least. And I think her mother not remembering when she was born was because she wasn't born, just placed into the family and they were magically tricked into thinking she was their daughter. Her reaction there was more about the magic influencing her mind, as opposed to her just being a horrible mother.

    • @WolfEntertainment
      @WolfEntertainment  6 лет назад +1

Andrew Clendening Good points, but I still found it very hard to like Eve as well, considering that she was on-board with killing a baby for a brief period of time and how the fairy Lyria nonchalantly brags about killing children as if it was a normal thing for them to do for fun, like she was expecting that idea to win over a fragile child. The parents were not very likable since they kind of just give up on Eve from what we see in the beginning and if they were really good people deep down then we didn't need Lyria to be a child-murdering psychopath just to make the parents seem good in comparison.
The episode should've been more about Eve struggling to be with her biological family or her foster family, without making the fairies outright monstrous so it's easier for our hero to make a choice. We see the flaws and strengths of both sides, but the parents needed to be involved more in their daughter's life in order to make it seem like there was an actual effort on their part. I didn't sympathize with anyone in this episode and was more pissed off at all the wasted story potential since I was very interested in the fairies. In short, I found the ideas a little too mean-spirited and forced to get the same enjoyment out of it like some fans did. Not to mention, even if you were connected to the story, none of it mattered in the end since the twist has the entire family slaughtered by vengeful fairies.

Wolf Entertainment In your Uncle Howee Review, I sort of interpretted on what scores a Haunting Hour episode needs to get a certain skull. I interpreted that...
    0 to 2.9 points = Decayed Skull
    3 to 5.9 points or 3 to 5 points = Bronze Skull
    6 to 7.9 points or 5.1 to 7.9 points = Silver Skull
    8-10 points = Gold Skull
With that in mind, I've checked back on all reviews prior to Uncle Howee & gave them their skull ranks based on their scores (at least from what I think).
However, in this video, I noticed there were some episodes that have a Skull different from the Skulls that I've calculated in my Uncle Howee Comment. They are...
    The Most Evil Sorcerer
    Skull in this video: Bronze
    Skull from my calculation: Silver
    Score: 6.5/10
    Pool Shark
    Skull in this video: Bronze
    Skull from my calculation: Silver
    Score: 6/10
    Terrible Love
    Skull in this video: Silver
    Skull from my calculation: Bronze
    Score: 4.7/10
Now the skulls for these episodes from my calculations are not official, so I could be wrong.

Um, well the rich family didn't exactly do anything illegal. Firing the gardeners was a terrible thing to do but they had a right to do it. I don't see any reason they should be punished worse than they were. I think the ending was perfect. The former rich family had to do the very kind of work that they looked down upon, so that taught them a lesson in humility which they learned in the end. The nice family became rich and they proved that the world is a better place with them being the rich ones.

Man, after seeing your reviews of this series, I can't help but realize how badly written most of the episodes are. There are many brilliant ones, such as Catching Cold and My Old House, but many more exaggerate reality way too much to be taken seriously, even for a teen show. I don't know whether it's the possibility that most of the stories were rushed, or that Haunting Hour is just a product of a bygone era of children's entertainment. But either way, you have really opened my eyes to how grossly illogical most of the series is.

    My picks:
    5. Lights Out. I'm sorry but I just don't like this episode. I don't like anything about it. The storyline, the characters, the boring backstory of the hospital, the fact that Dr. Sturgis's motives are never explained, the fake CGI building, the fact that most of the episode takes place in the dark, the fact that we see none of the ghosts except Dr. Sturgis, and the weak ending. I dislike all of it.
    4. Mrs. Worthington. It has an IMDb rating of 7.3. That might not seem super-high, but compared to the other season 4 episodes, only "Grandpa's Glasses" had a higher rating. I do not think "Mrs. Worthington" deserves such praise. It had great potential. I love the title character and Margot Kidder's performance and I actually liked the "speed-knitting" which you have said you didn't like. Melody Fox could have made a few changes that would have made it one of my favorite episodes. For example, she could have left Molly tied up and mouth zipped in the attic forever, and the mom reveals that she never goes into the attic so she never finds out what happened to her daughter. It could have been like "Uncle Howee" with all the genders reverse: the older sibling bullies the younger sibling, a supernatural character helps out the younger sibling and gives the older sibling what was coming to him or her. In "Uncle Howee," Jared is turned into a puppet. So they could have left Molly in a similar fate. Sure, some people might complain that the plot is unoriginal and similar to "Uncle Howee" but there'd be enough differences that it wouldn't have gotten any complaining from me. Alternatively, if she wanted to write a redemption arc, Melody Fox could have at least done it better. For example, Nate could have been on Mrs. Worthington's side until Molly apologized. Instead, Melody Fox wrote it so that as soon as Mrs. Worthington showed up, Nate was looking out for and helping/defending his bully of a sister who'd done nothing to deserve his help, while he kept telling Mrs. Worthington, the one person who was looking out for him, not to do all the things he drew her to do, even going as far as telling her off and having her try to cut off the tongue of the person she was created to protect. It could have been a great episode with a few changes. As it is, I find this episode frustrating to watch.
    3. I'm Not Martin. It has an IMDb rating of 7.2, the 3rd-highest of any season 4 episode. I think your video about this episode is spot on.
    2. Red Eye. The episode is in a 3-way tie with "Scarecrow" and "Flight" for the highest-rated episode on IMDb. In my opinion, "Scarecrow" and "Flight" deserve that honor but "Red Eye" does not. I don't see the appeal of "Red Eye." The build-up in this one is very long, and when we finally get to the moment we're waiting for, that moment lasts about 3 seconds and then the episode is over. So many unanswered question. Does the possessed father kill his daughter? Does she escape? Does she find a way to get rid of the alp and save her father? Does she somehow kill her father and therefore kill the alp? Does the possessed father also kill the mother? A 20-minute build-up to a 5-second climax. Very disappointing.
    1. Night of the Mummy. I didn't know everybody loves this episode. Well, I agree with you on this one. This is the only episode in this video where I agree with you completely (though I agree with some of your points on the other ones).

Aaron Beasley They never clarify how he's in our time, which kind of made me upset. Huh, neat to see someone still talking about this show. Heck, your latest video is just a week old neat! Anyway, my only truly disliked episode is Poof De Formage and I don't HATE it, it's just...stupid. I'm not totally up to date on how the fandom feels but I was not aware Stage Fright is disliked, i think it's pretty good. Anyway, may as well give thoughts.
Before I move on, I reviewed the series season by season on my blog so here's a link to them if you want more details. They are fairly old though, so it's
    not totally up to date.

    5. This episode is eh. It has a cool atmosphere and some heart, but it's still cliche and predictable for my tastes.
    4. This episode is fine. Far from great, but it was a decent enough story. Got nothing to say ere.
    3. Okay, this one I actually quite love. I've gone into it my review but I thought it was pretty well written in regards to how the main characters deal plays out with a really nice speech from the dad and neat atmosphere.
    2. This one i kind of agree with. I like the sweet episodes but this episode was way too corny for me. The directors cut ending is good for the dark twist but the orginal ending is just cliche.
    HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Terrible Love: I quite like this one for the odd tone and how it was creepy in a different way
The Most Evil Sorcerer: Honestly a fave, it's a unique setting with a good story.
Near Mint Condition: I like this one cuz i dig the silly-ness of it. Not especially good, but it's fine.
Seance: I think this one is pretty creepy, not a big fave though.
    1. Another one i love. Not 15 but still great. I liked how it was a more straight forward Christmas ep but still in a very Haunting hour way, being decently sad with some nice moments
This video was okay, might need a better mic though and maybe not get quite as angry.

Holy cow, your that popular critic who associates with Kyle Norty and Bobsheaux. You actually like our content? What an honor. We did upgrade our microphones a few months ago so the audio is much better than in our early years. We both hope to continue reviewing for a while now. Currently, I am down to 5 remaining Haunting Hour tales until I start taking on other shows. Anyways, it's nice to know you care for our work.

In your opinion, what is "The Room" of all haunting hours? What I mean by that is; which one was so bad, you couldn't help but love it. For me it was poof de fromage.

Well, Wolf really loves Game Over despite that episode getting some mixed responses and I kind of have a soft spot for The Walls since it had the most hilarious ending ever despite it making the monster look goofy.

Wolf Entertainment That's monster was original

Leonardo Farias What I meant to say was that the monster in The Walls started out scary, but the twist ending kind of made him look pathetic, especially since his role all came down to being a troll toward everyone.

Blacksmithorange I've also kind of considered Seance to be a laughably awful episode.

Wolf Entertainment I can agree with you, it also kind of pokes fun at all the horror movie clichés at times.
As a side note have you seen "The Room" movie, like some haunting hour episodes it takes itself so seriously that it ends up being laughably bad.
