    Been looking forward to this. Really enjoyed last years coverage of the senior service, royal marine and army young wannabees marching down the mall. With the bands xylophones to the fore. No doubt some come from my nearby torpoint/raleigh contingent. Credit to all the youngsters involved and to all the adults who continue to give up their spare time to organise and keep the great tradition of military cadets alive

    What a smart parade of young people,very well done to you all.( in contrast to the local constabulary,who looked like bags of rags tied up in the middle!).

    Last year, I was highly critical of the overall calibre and performance of the band; this year, you absolutely smashed it beyond belief in the most authentic tradition of the Royal Navy and Sea Cadets. CONGRATULATIONS to you all for the effort you made throughout the year to bring this fantastic military event to the public.

    As ex marine cadet this makes me so happy to see really thought the cadets was in a big decline due to things like covid and the way younger people seem to be but this great to see smart marching cadets and the band sounded great should all be proud 👌

    A Brilliant Parade by all The Cadets!! Well done to all of you! Hold your Heads High. Those young Drummers I daresay we'll see some of them in the White Pith Helmets of The Royal Marines in the Future. Am I correct in thinking someone has a Pipe Band? I'm sure there were some Drummers with the Pompom Drumsticks (Pardon my ignorance of the Correct names, I don't know what they're called) that I've only seen in the Pipes & Drums Bands.
    There are those Chime Bar Lyres again that were in the Bury St Edmonds Trafalgar Day Parade, I still can't get over how good they sound, even with the Drums going on, they're clear & bell like, every note is heard. I've never seen a British Military Band with them before. If I could find anything to complain about with the Massed Bands, it would only be that they need to recruit some more Brass Musicians, the few they had on this Parade really Struggled to be heard on such a big Parade.
    Most of the Cadet's Drill was excellent, even the very Young ones, but the sight of a Gentleman in what appeared to be an Officers Cap & Sweater, moseying along, looking all around & not even trying to keep in step, on the left side of thee Massed Bands, made for a very shabby look to the Band. I was surprised they didn't play the March "Trafalgar" at all for obvious reasons.
    Question time: 1) What's in the Frame that was carried by a Cadet with an escort Party at 1.56 ?
    2) Is that lot of Cadets in what appear to be Army Uniforms & Camo Gear, part of the SBS ? if not who are they.
    Finally, a Huge thumbs up to the Navy Medic who ran to the aid of the poor unfortunate who fell running across the Road as the Massed Bands approached. Applause too, to the Police Officer & members of the Public who also came to their aid.
    Thank You Mr B for bring your excellent Film making expertise to the Sea Cadet's Parade for Trafalgar, Of your usual High Standards as always!

      @Helloooooolooo 9 месяцев назад +3

      The frame is a peice of the white ensign used by HMS Victory during the Battle of Trafalgar. The other uniforms are diferent cadet forces

    • @user-yv9cp9mp3y
      @user-yv9cp9mp3y 9 месяцев назад +5

      The cadets in green were Army cadets - representatives of the other services are invited along, in previous years there have been air cadets there too. Royal Marine Cadets also wear MTP, although they were all in number one uniform on the parade - some of the RMC staff (medics etc) might have been in MTP.
      As for the officers 'moseying along' - they was midshipmen of the URNU (University Royal Naval Unit, the RN version of the OTC), and their job was to watch the crowd and ensure nothing hindered the parade. They are not part of the parade, and therefore do not march. They were doing exactly as they were ordered.

      @@Ceremonial1000 I would love to Volunteer but as I live in NZ, making Band Practice on time could be tricky. As I said all the way through I thought the Parade was Brilliant & was impressed with the Drill, even the little ones did well. If I was a Volunteer, I would be very proud. I had 1 suggestion (the Brass Section) & 1 comment about an Officer who let the side down. I'm sorry if I caused Offence. I won'ttake the time to comment again.

      @@user-yv9cp9mp3y Thank you for the Clarification. You now see the problem when you have people who look like they are in the Parade, but aren't actually Marching. To Spectators who don't know, like me, they look "Wrong" & then they think it looks Scruffy. Having said that if the Bands Drill wasn't as Good as it was, the "Moseyer" probably wouldn't have stood out so much. Just a thought, but maybe someone could approach a Company who could donate some Hi-Viz Jerkins as a Sponsor, for the Security people?
