Non-linear helical sweeps along any trajectory in Creo or Pro/ENGINEER - EAC Tip of the Week

  • During this week's tip we talk about Non-Linear Helical Sweeps, or in other words... creating a helical sweep along any trajectory. This tip can be applied when users need to create a curved spring or a helical sweep with an odd cross-section. Because the basic sweep can only go in a straight line, using this technique allows users to go outside the "box" when creating a helical sweep.

    Great video. Thanks! Anyhow you won't need the first sweep. Just create the second one and use the outside edge of the sweep as a trajectory for the sweep of the spring.

    Excellent information Mark. How would you reverse the helical sweep direction?

      You'd have to reverse the direction of the angle dimension in the variable sweep at about the 2:18 mark in the video.

    Thanks for your video. i want a number of coils in control , lets say i need a 10 coils (rounds), and here it is in one plane , i need it in 90 deg (L bend) and u bend, please can u help ?
