Greetings, I really like this approach compared to the config.pro setting which is how I usually specify layers. I have two questions: 1) I have some components that had a Creo 4.0 (M020) created layer called HIDDEN ITEMS. I unhid features in model which resulted in the objects being removed from the layer. However, I can not delete the HIDDEN ITEMS layer. This is inhibiting me from EXTENDING RULES. Any suggestion on how I can remove the problematic layer? 2) I noticed there was a response to "Shanmuganathan Shanmuga" however this was not very helpful in setting up the mapkey because it required the user to select the blank layers. The empty layers change frequently thus, the mapkey may not function as intended. Is there a way to automate the hiding & unhiding of blank layers. PLEASE ADVISE, THANKS FOR THE VIDEOS...
I discovered that PTC has probably screwed its users once again... CREO automatically creates a layer called "HIDDEN ITEMS".This layer is automatically created when creating datum features on the fly inside of other features.support.ptc.com/help/archive/creo40/creo_pma/usascii/index.html#page/fundamentals/fundamentals/fund_six_sub/Using_Hidden_Items_Layer.htmlThe status of the "Hidden Items" layer is saved when you save the status of the other layers. However, you cannot delete the Hidden Items layer once its there is always there. This layer will effectively make EXTEND RULES useless if any components contains the "HIDDEN ITEMS" layer.. This is automatically created when creating datum features on the fly inside of features.A work around may be to add the "HIDDEN ITEMS" layer as one of the rules to be extended.Have not tested this can not say for sure.
Layer display can be controlled directly in the layer tree. The layer tree is similar to the model tree, but it's the control center to layers. Once the layer tree is displayed, the display status can be controlled by selecting the desired layer[s], them right mouse button [RMB], to open the context menu. After the context menu is opened, select the desired option [hide in this case]. Note the layer status should be saved, followed by saving the model, in those cases where the user wants the layers hidden the next time the model is opened. Put another way, layer display status is temporary, unless the display status is saved, and the model is subsequently saved.

When I remove a part from the layer in drafting, how to bring it back in the layer?
At the end of the the video you are saying we can hide the layers that are not having any information in it... Can you explain how to do that?
