imagine getting off your 600i, or your Carrack, going into a cave and exploring, coming back out, walking towards your ship and you see a flock of birds resting on your ship and they all fly away.
As long as they havent crapped all over it, that's fine.
@@mustrumridcully3853 if they have, we eating soup tonight boys...
The last time I saw a carrack parked on microtech it was bouncing up n down doing the usual sc parked ship dance, ain't nothing wanting to land on those things 🤣
Imagine you're in that cave for an investigation and you hear the howling coming from deeper inside...
Maybe that'll be added just before the heat death of the universe
Look at all those chickens
3.23: The patch where we finally get to ask, 'What does the fox say?' 😂 Hyped! ruclips.net/video/1xU4It5eoOk/видео.html
Can I let that dawg!??!
We chickens are debating if we really want to keep on enjoying this verse.
I understood that reference
@@zackanderson3521
"I understood that reference"
I understood THAT reference
and on the 2342th day, jared said: let there be a doggo and a birb
4628th day actually
😂😂
And they were thus, and he saw that it was good.
And put them on every planet! Same animals on every planet every system!
I like birBs a lot lol😂
Remember to add window wipers and washing fluid to the front windows of ships in case of bird strikes!
Knowing my luck it's more likely a "when" instead of "if" lmao
you mean whale strikes yes ?
Keep the shields up then you will have roasted bird
Honestly, I've wanted to be able wash the windows on my Mole for a while now...
While at that please let me buy blinker fluid for my ship..
The railgun shot was brutal 😭
It was! 🤣🤣🤣
yeah the railgun has changed in 3.23 it now have a radius explosionand it's really powerfull.
I want them introduce some very big creatures, that can damage ships
One of the biggest things that really makes me want to play this game is that some day we may be able to explore the galaxy and seeing all the new animals. I really really hope that there will be a science gameplay loop that involves xenozoology, an entire gameplay experience about photographing, tagging, relocating, and defending wildlife.
unfortunately nothing will come as a surprise. Everything will be shown before it is in game
Once the game releases there will be surprises
really hoping for this as well, sounds amazing!
It's hard to play the role of Steve Irwin when the gameplay mechanics are set for either docile or "kill the player". Especially when the creatures have loot that will later be used for crafting.... Not much defending will be going on in this game. That's why they have spawn rates....
I hope they added behavior of them being very afraid of vehicles and ships. Like no animal is going to stay under a hovering aircraft for example
Totally Agree! If hear a loud ship engine 5 clicks away they should be running. Would give players another reason to use ground vehicles and explore on foot! low hanging fruit here, CIG! Missed opportunity if not picked!
Yes, that would be cool, but it would also mean players rarely ever see these creatures. Because we are almost always in our ships.
What are you talking about deer will watch you drive up to them horn blasting lol and they with not love just stand there lol
The doggo things ran right into the back of my Cutter in the EPTU 😂
Well if you don't use vtol they'll probably just fly off from the wind
“ the previous things we’ve seen” SANDWORM
sadly not until we get leir, which i just checked would be (assuming medium/large JP): Stanton > Magnus > Ellis > Nexus > Hades > Nemo > Fora > Banshee > Leir
So probably many years post 1.0!
Yeah, but where is my personal dog that I can pet on long quantum travel?
Soon tm
As Aberrant said, it's literally coming Soon(TM). There are dogs you can pet in Squadron 42.
I just want a cat. Can deal with the space rats in my cargo hold.
Just kite a Kopion to your ship
Your mission for the day: Bring 10 Kopion to the Orison Zoo, alive and unhurt.
This video is like a poacher's manual... exploding a flock of birds with a grenade launcher. Dayum.
*Laughs in AD5B*
Red Mist indeed.
I'm going hunting with an A2 💥
How could CIG not make those cats eyes look like they’re glowing in the dark. That would be so chillingly cool inside a cave to see four eyes looking at you in the dark, just like a real cat-minus two of those eyes of course. lol
I really hope they go back and add this! I mean, what a waste of opportunity. Otherwise, great work on the creature from a player standpoint it feels real (except for slow servers ofc).
5:25 except they're clearing acting like cats eyes in this part with their interaction with the torch light?
@@rock2k14 Oh! Thank goodness, good looking out!
It's not the four eyes in the dark looking back at you that you need to worry about. It's the 40 other pairs behind you...
@@TheModelOmega They also do the same in low-light conditions like at 5:54. SO you don't have to be in pitch dark with your own light to see the effect.
Alright I have a new challenge: How many animals can you capture in your ships? Imagine having Kopians chase you into your ship only for you to lock them into your cargo hold or scooping up Marocks mid-flight with your C2.
It's not hard. I found the doggos on MT in EPTU (They're everywhere in the green areas) , and as soon as I opened the door on my Cutter they rushed on board and attacked me 😂
You might mess up an entire planets ecosystem that way.
The Sound Design Team knocked it out of the park again! Good Job!
These creatures are really impressive and deserve credit but as a sound FX nerd i really appreciate this and I hope the sound wins an award too. Great job
Would like to see pack animals not attack to the last member but actually flee after two or three are shot or maybe the sound of gunfire startled them
Yes. Some more nuanced behaviour in general would be nice. These are pretty stereotypical videogame creatures.
Like dayz
The creatures do add a life to the forests now, especially at night! Love the new additions!!
What i like the most about the creatures in SC is their teleporting ability, it gives the game a fantasy touch.
FISHING!!! We need fishing!
Looking for "protect the creatures" missions in addition to the "hunt the creatures" missions please.
Agree! Crime stat for raiding for horns.
Space-Druids is a vibe I can hang with.
Lmao, no
They should spawn Dusters illegally hunting some fauna sa part of a contract, and you're tasked by local settlements to help protect them as they're a food source for the locals.
actually would be a good idea to add emergent pvp all over the place. im on team whaling but it would be fun to see team save the whales out there ready to fight
One day I'm going to be a Space Whale conservationist and protect them against poachers
I would join your org.
I'm in if you'll have me ✊
Oh I know, we should superglue our hands onto the landing pads at major space ports to block traffic!
You have my terrible aim ✊
One day I'll be a space whaler, spending my days hunting the great white space whale.
The animation of the bird is amazing. And the way the mesh folds.
make sure those pigeons take off when gunshot are heard and even more fly up if a big explosion occurs
yeah, i think they dont react to gunshots from what i saw in the vid
This may be grim, but having birds turn into red mist and possibly slightly damaging your ship (assuming your shields are turned off) would be slick
IRL they blow through the canopy and literally bring ships down. People have died from this in the past.
@@jasonfrost5025 A pelican or goose might as well be a cannon ball when it get's hit by a jet.
@@jasonfrost5025 I'm talking about spaceships, not airplanes my guy.... There is no irl for what an alien bird would do to a scifi space ship 🤣
The key to catching a Kopion is to take a chair with you!
I’m hopping into my MISC Reliant Sen for an expedition to catalogue wildlife! Very cool!
Going to be a short list.
I always dreamed of being a trapper/hunter in SC. This brings it a few steps closer to fruition. We're looking at the beginning steps to a whole new game loop for both Hunters and if you're on the bad side of the law, Poachers. I can see it now, a whole rep board of contracts as small as clearing out or collecting small fauna, all the way up to taking down large, formidable beasts that can leave you in pieces with one swipe. Scars, hopefully can be earned from injuries and not just printed on like a tattoo in the character creation menu. And prosthetics will be common in this line of work lol..
The Caterpillar, Carrack, Hercules, Galaxy, and a few others will be perfect for holding these fauna too. And smaller ships like the MSR, Freelancer Max and similar will be great for smaller ops. Let's see it CiG!! I love trapping and chewing bubblegum.... And I'm all outta gum. 😎
Cages and tranquilizer guns please!
Me wanting to catch a rare midas fish on cassel goss2 and sell that on a higher price on other star systems
The idea of getting mob'd by space dogos in some pitch black, cave is terrifying.
Night Vision scope! 15:55 Let’s go!

Need the night vision in ships^^
@@mrkoddy need it on the cockpit of all ships! So I can bounty on the dark side of plants with out pinging every so many seconds!
ooooh sneaky sneaky. Look at what they "slipped" in there.

They should delay it another week, certain stuff is too broken for live
@@ExtraWeirdableit’s better than live right now by a lot of
@dukeofhazard420 That's what people said about 3.18 and that was a disaster.
@@dukeofhazard420 I’ll update and try stuff again right now; but last I checked stability wise Live is/was still better
I hope they add PETA to the game
It seems like it's a bit cold in microtech for animals not having any fur/feathers
Right? Kopion suits Hurston much better. Not really a microtech looking animal.
Not all of microtech is frozen. It has grasslands too. Also, some types of seal have a very thin layer of fur amd rely on fat to keep themselves warm.
Did they really call the dog “copium” 😂?
Kopion, but yea, pretty much
Yep... its no "accident"!
Yeah, i dont think this was an accident!
It's called a Kopion.
They just make fun of backers in the clear these days.
I’d like to see some floating methane filled jellyfish :)
Ah. Smellyfish.
Craig Reynolds’ original three rules for his boid algorithm:
Coherence: steer toward the average position of local group.
Separation: steer away from very close neighbors.
Alignment: steer in the direction neighbors are traveling.
These lead to very pretty flocking behavior. You can also add other rules on top like steering toward a desired target or away from a position. You can honestly do whatever you want on top of the three main rules, but the idea is it’s just a simple linear combination, so it’s a very cheap algorithm, especially with spacial hashing like an octree.
Kopions are so cute. The odd mismatch of unlikely features for a mammal, such as dorsal plates and doubled up eyes, is very suggestive of monotremes or egg-laying mammals such as the echidna and the platypus. The fact that they take on the behaviour of African wild dogs also makes sense because it's a successful due to being optimised as a set of coherent hunting pack behaviours. When they work, they're wild!
9:15 he's right, that pose is the dog "play with me" pose. Ready to dash into a chase or pop up for surprise, but UNready to actually attack, since the front paws are so far forward. In contrast, cats have a pose with the front paws under the neck or chest, close together, rear paws tensed, ready to spring into a pounce attack.
I really like the kopions. I wonder if the permanent snarl is a design choice or if later on in development the will have more relaxed lips
That's exactly the thing that bother me. Would look better with relaxed lips when they are just chilling and doing their thing and make them look even more ferocious right as they engage in hunt mode and you see their vicious teeth appear.
Can't wait to see what other creatures end up coming along
The remake of Spore's looking fire!
The Doggo's remind me more of a pack of hyena's more than a "Sheppard"
Hyenas are also supposedly a branch of carnivores that are more closely related to cats than dog (though not particularly close to either).
crazy that you turned adding just 2 animals to the game into a 20 minute video
Much love
I like that MedPen
yeah i noticed it instanly 😎
I want an ink pen that looks like that
11:10 lmfao on the doggo belly flop
what med pen?
They make a lot of reference to medical which may be a clue to the continuation of events 🤔
Can't wait to see all these new things in the verse.. Great job all....
New roleplay unlocked.
“MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY, bird strike!”
The animation at 11:00 looks significantly better than the "final" adjusted one shown shortly after. The final one just looks goofy. Cats will swipe wide with both paws when attacking, they won't just do an awkward jaw headbutt.
And on the flip side that double paw swipe is how dogs play.
They seem to be modelled after Canids not felines
A dog attacking you will do exactly a jaw headbut,...with it's mouth open.
@@rankcolour8780 And on the flip flip side, it's harder to read from the player's perspective. With the jank NPC movement, it's much easier to tell when a Kopion is actually lunging at you when its paws are extended wide, compared to the new lunge animation, which in the heat of things, can be confusing from the player's perspective. Is it actually jumping forwards or is it desynced movement? It's a lot easier to see that the Kopion is in fact attacking in that original animation. Also, the animal was literally described as a cat-dog, so it's modeled after both, not just canids.
Not at all, no.
Anyone who has any experience with animals llthat size can tell and those who don't are informed by the attack.
Sorry dude.
3.23 LETS GOOOOOO!!!!!
is it live?
We've been going for the last two weeks, thinking it would be tomorrow.
It’s delayed
Curve your enthusiasm - have you tried the painful state the patch is now?
@@TheS0meguyupgrade your PC it runs great
Awesome animation work there mate, this is very high quality, and it is great to see that animals are coming in game with such degree of quality. Congrats team :)
Ok I think the most impressive part of this showcase was the sound effects. I think that's what's really going to make it feel lived in!
Maroks? May rocks.

You can do it on low fps servers 😊
Could be very cool to have a taming feature!
I've been waiting to hunt in Elite: Dangerous since 2014 and I can finally do it.... in Star Citizen.
I liked seeing the more technical side, like the sounds design and animation, rather than just hearing about it and getting a demonstration
WE IMPLODING THE SERVERS WITH THIS ONE 🗣️🔥💀☠️
Been waiting for years for some space animals
@@Spaceman-PINnever speak
i am so happe to see what is coming! Thank you CIG
Love the section on crafting the sounds and audio!! such a crucial part of bringing the creatures to life.
I would love peaceful animal missions! Maybe some route tracking or setting up wildcams?
So, will the Kopion's hunt, kill and eat the Maroks?
That is so cool!! Thanks for sharing all the things that go into making these creatures!!
The dead human at 9:40 with the peter griffin pose lmao
I can't wait to see them with server meshing ! good job animation are so good
Will there be deeper behavior for the creatures later on like animals hunting animals.Them breaking ships, poisonous snake like creatures
Let them finish the "space sim" first.
Great vid, I especially enjoyed the audio part on how the animals noises were made.
This really makes you appreciate the work. I mean can you imagine all the animation work they did for RDR2 and all of the animals and their behaviors in that game??
Hire the fellas that are working on “the isle”
Welcome to Jurassic Planet....
yeah their creature models and animations are the best I've seen....
Noot!
Tribbles! We need 'em!
13:47 Nice to see the sound wizards at CIG are jamming with Reaper!
"Some of you want to murder the bird"
Not even close Jared. I want to be in the bird..
u wot mate
huh
Now bring some aliens too
these are aliens
The Vanduul are already done it seems like based off SQ42 teasers. No idea about the Xi/Banu.
I found loads of them in packs and flocks just by scanning certain areas, nice to see them and it does bring the areas to live.
I love that Star Citizen made an original creature like the Kavat.
is that new "creation" already T-posing on chairs?
I'm not particularly impressed with the first few creatures in Star Citizen.
Can't wait for the Crab and Yeti they showcased in previous art, this is a good start.
12:12 Really happy to hear this. Even in TTRPGs, beasts feel more real and live if they show the desire for survival and wanting to 'be alive', not just "attack player until someone dies"
Where is 3.23?
If you read the public announcements on spectrum you'd know
Patience, young padawan.
Sir, this is Wendy's
On a hard drive :)
in ePTU for everyone
Oh my.... I have a feeling that when 3.23 comes to live environment, it will be amost a different game. I can't wait...
How beautifull the verse is gonna be with all animals and other life coming
The vocal sounds man, nice. EPIC animations! Well done guys!!
Congratulations artist, development and sound artist bringing this all together. To have just this two creatures in the verse shows what a great teamwork has achieved.
I am looking forward to seeing and hunting these creatures in 3.23. Just some recommendations to look forward too. Making a cattle or Buffalo type creature that is very passive and does gracing all day like the Buffalo would be a great addition. Including herds would really bring even more depth into the verse.
I can't wait to see what the team comes up with next. Hope everyone has a great weekend and hopefully 3.23 will release by the end of the month.
For me, fauna is the single most important thing to bring the universe to life, not the players, not the npc's, not the ships, its the fauna; I think the creature team has done a fantastic job here. My hope for the future is insects, pretty ones, interesting ones, venomous ones, some attack, even attack ships, degrading their exterior; for example, a swampy area of a planet could be host to a type of swarming insects that are attracted to electromagnetism, thus any ships landing in this area will attract them, and their "thing" is to attack using their razor sharp teeth, without knowing it, your ships exterior is slowly degrading, not a lot, but enough to make it a problem if you're there too long. Other insects could attack you, poison you, make you sick, unable to stand, etc. Others just lighting up a dark cave. These sorts of things is what will bring the verse to real life and keep it interesting along side everything else. Well done CIG on the progress so far.
Some really game-changing stuff, a 20 minute video about a space dog and a bird just the update I was looking forward to ❤
Lol. Never been done before! Buy an idris.
Love the addition of the creatures! They look so good and well-made. So much potential with them being added as well-super exciting the possibilities they offer to the game experience.
For the very first creatures added, i welcome both the Morok & Kopian in-game. Loving how they look, sound. Please continue to add more, to make the SC universe alive.
Good job on the creatures CIG! Please keep it up.
The Marok animations are cool. The Kopion needs more work. The transition between states is very noticeable.
I appreciate the audio segment! Thank you!
I'm looking forward to seeing whether they'll have deeper behaviors in the future. Be it hunting / gathering food, eating, shitting, and mating.
Would be insane to see a player shoot wildlife documentaries.
(Would also open a path to using baits)
Awesome work! hope we'll get some wildlife rescue/medical/cargo gameplay with these new animals. Should be lots of fun :D
Those look very believable. Incredible good animations! JARED! 15:01 is hillarious 🤣🤣🤣
Being a trapper is one of my favorite activity in RDR2 and RDO. I can't wait to do hunting in PU! and I want that railgun!
The sound design is awesome for these.
the animators did an outstanding job, kudos to them. As someone who programmed flock behavior before, it's quite fun, I'd recommend everyone who can give it a try
2:00 😂🤣I played that over & over!
Too bad we won't be able to hover like that & look out the windows in the future
I love how this marketing collateral is presented -- semi-polished, minimal jank. Then you see them in practical application, and it's janky as all get out, desynced, or completely broken.
We get fooled every year, NPCs in this game is non functional, servers can not handle the most basics of tasks, just trying to eat/drink sometimes is so frustrating.
The animals look awesome. Very nice addition to the verse.
Ok, new challenge. Get one of these space dogs onto your ship and screenshot it T posing.
Those sounds take me back to when I first saw Jurassic Park, really cool!
Awesome content. lovely creatures! cant wait.
I can imagine in the Terra and sol systems, the wildlife will be in sanctuary. It would make sense for the core of the civilization. Those systems used to be conceptualized like a futuristic-green utopia.
