7 years later and there is still no better whistle medley. Well done Malcador.
So powerful yet festive. I am Chinese but I love Irish music!
I really don't know how this got 85 dislikes this is what I call perfection best version off both these reels I've ever heard amazingly talented musician on the whistle wow that's what I call playing a whistle bodhran so subtle and simple yet so perfect great background it really doesn't get any better this amazingly beautiful
I reckon people don't realise the breathy playing is the Irish style... some people like that clean crisp whistle sound... madness I tells you. I like that Celtic woodiness. :)
It can’t be seen anymore, lol
Very well I done. I’d giv John Sheehan with the Dubliners version the edge tho 😅
must have been a scottsman
I think it's people who don't have a soul who give a thumbs down to music like this.
That’s a wodnerful performance!! 👏from Japan 🇯🇵
I absolutely love this. I’ve played it hundreds of times.
Me too, the first time i ever heard this I was hooked, and a couple of years later still am
I love Irish music! Oh man, it's awesome!
Greetings from Belgium

Wrong flag! Ireland is green on the left and orange on the right, the flag you used is the ivory coast

I’m Irish 😁
I just bought a Tin Whistle today! I've always looked for this instrument because I was captivated by its sound. As soon as I saw the flute, I had to check if this was the instrument I've always chased after!
It matched and I bought it! I'm gonna practice with it as much as I can! :D Its not too far off from the Filipino Bamboo flute when it comes to playing.
So ive already learned some of the basics.
I'm really excited to learn more!
Same
I was gonna get a harmomica because I love the sound of bag pipes. You know if you make that connection lol I might be crazy, but now I found this and all I want to do is get it to play Amazing Grace
How are you getting along with it? I used to play it in school and i am picking it up again after some time. Can't do any ornamentation to save my life!.
Oh shiiit a Homestuck in 2020
Yes keep practicing you will get the hang off it I love whistles and bordhans I play both the d whistles great key to start in get the basic tune when you can play it play it as fast as you can trust me this helps and saves time on practicing plus if you play it fast then playing slow will be no bother then slow it down to proper speed then you can put in your cuts and slides double tap certain notes slide your finger off some off the notes to vibrate the whistle if your playing 3 fingers down g not leave one hole between notes uncovered the e the 5th note always tap the second note down from what your playing good luck
Ahhhh… there’s NOTHING like the sound of The *TERRIFIC* tin whistle to make me TAP my toes, whilst making a cup of TEA! 😀 lol.
It's an awesome instrument when you can play it right :)
This is very well played and so beautiful.
o man I'm in love with Irish music lately.. oh this came from another dimension maybe! Just loved it

Greetings from Canada!!! This is awesome, been thinking about ordering one of these to take on the kayak!!
I ordered a tin whistle yesterday.
Might put this on my “eventually” list
Yeah I ordered 2 because I heard the first was quite as easy to play as the second, but now in college I find the time is taken up by so many things. So this IS a someday haha
HappyTrails 1 eh I made the mistake of ordering it from Townsends... their more expensive stuff is nice but their cheap stuff is, well, cheap.
I’m 90% sure it’s the flute, not me, as I can only make sound with it when squeezing it with so much force I’m worried I’ll bend it and blowing at an extremely specific angle.
@@Jessie_Helms dang, thats how I feel about the first one. It would be nice if I had the time for a tutor but I'm all about learning myself to🤣🤣 and that isn't going to hot
Good luck to you!
I bought a Sweetone a few months ago and liked it so much I ordered a second whistle from a shop in Ireland! Having a blast with it. Need to start working on ornamentation.
@@prienee nah it was cheap and didn’t seem to work right.
Part of it looked a little warped
Every time I hear it I just want to get up and dance!
Played this so many times, simply amazing
awesome, playing it on a loop
موسيقى رائعه لم اسمع أجمل منها تحياتي من مصر... Wow what amazing magicale piece of music.. My greating from egypt
The first sentence you wrote, what does it mean?

I love this! Best Cooley's Reel ever!
Eu conheci essa música por causa de um vídeo no Instagram de um gatinho e fiquei apaixonada! ❤️ Ela é perfeita! Amor para você do Brasil!❤️🇧🇷
On another level. Incredible control, beautifully crafted.
Never get tired of this!!

I’m getting one. I’m gonna have to use RUclips to learn though. The Irish tin whistle is awesome! It’s my favourite instrument! 💜
I just got a whistle from Goldfinch Whistles in Poland. About the same price as the Susato but I think a better sound. Google them and see what you think.
using imagination is also great, its a good instrument to improvise on
I recently ordered a tin whistle online and a beginner with anything musical...but I'm excited to learn!
Love your playing. Hope things are better and some people were able to help you out. Sending prayers and positive thoughts your way.
Was looking for it almost 1 hour! Finally found! Heard it on my schools stage once...
This exact track or just traditional reels from it?
@@malcador6193 I saw this on an assignment, forgot the name, and found it. Yes, it was this exact video.
Beautiful! My compliments!
You just made my morning. Thank you!
In Love!! Such atmosphere
gorgeous ❤️🇮🇪
very good played! I really enjoyed it :-)
Ey' that's some good music there lad
the old-timers hate the background ambiance behind the whistle. I like it.
It brings the frickin chills

Yep, Tarvos, Meet the enemy and Bloodstained ground. There's plenty more reels used in their songs ;)
Excellent !!!
I've opened my cofee can whith my Cold Steel ''Hand-and-a' half'' sword while listening to this.
Meh. A Manly Man among Men would have bitten the can open.
To funny
If you can't find the sword, just turn that can upside down,
and grind the top off by grinding it on concrete, like a sidewalk.
STranGe, But True.
Bah, you should have used the pommel and Ended the Can Rightly
very nice
very well played
Wow just wow
some serious skills heh
That is so mechanically beautiful....Almost a rock song.
I like it.

ah the sweet tunes
Gyönyörű! :)
Wow!
one of my very favorite instruments, although i prefer the more melancholy tunes.
Wow, that bass thrumming sound at that starts at 2:16... so intense! I can feel it resonating in my chest. Malcador, what instrument is it? Some kind of drum?
Excellent video.
Poorly placed sampled bass guitar from FL studio :)
It’s an Irish drum called a bodhran
Very dank thanks!
I am of long ago Ireland .I wonder if my anscesters could play like I one day shall....
aka I LOVE IT
I play boran as well
I wish I could play this instrument
2018😍✋
This is an incredible performance! I'm a long time woodwind player, but this video inspired me to pick up the tin whistle for the first time and am thrilled at how naturally it came to me. I'm practicing Cooley's Reel right now and would love to eventually play it like you do. Do you by chance have a link to the background drums and strings used in this video so i could practice playing with it?
Hi James. Unfortunately I've lost the files for the track. But I wish you good luck in learning this instrument, also you should eventually try low whistle, it has such lovely sound.
@@malcador6193 No worries, the progression is pretty simple so i can figure something out. And yeah, I'm practicing with a high D whistle right now but i intend to try out a lower one too. Any recommendations on which brands and key you prefer?
@@Maximillian1329 I have some videos with Howard low D on the channel (Metallica cover). You can check it's sound there, it's really good. Also Susato low G (nightwish cover).
@@Maximillian1329 Also this track is played with whistle in Bb. So you won't be able to play it along the music with a D whistle.
That's Tarvos? from Eluveitie! ha, get ya!
Tarvos, Meet The Enemy, Bloodstained Ground, in that order =)
no it's slania medley lol from the first album
@@malcador6193 Finding an Irish music video (kind of because Eluveitie) and then i see songs mentioned. Sweet.
Beautiful. What key is the whistle in? Also, please tell us more about the drum used in the background
It's susato in Bb. The drum was made in FLStudio, but i was trying to reproduce the sound of irish bodhran.
@@malcador6193 sounds like an untunable bodhran I've one sounds a bit like that so your not far out lovely sound off the sustano whistle very bell put together
Meant to txt very well played

Thanks lol. Checked in in comments =)
Me too!!!!!🥰
Hello, amazing played. I love it. Please, what whistle you use? (mark, type, key, ..). Thank you a lot :)
how long did it take you to learn to play like that? I just started tin whistle and I don't have any control over my fingers yet.
A year maybe
Saving this to repel snakes in the jungle
snakes do not exist in Ireland, for fuck sake
Am i the only one who can see this as Connor McGregors walk to the cage music.
Eluveitie at 01:45
this song sounds like one of Eluveitie. Is this version the original?
Yes, they are actually common and traditional irish jigs and reels. Eluveitie uses them in their songs to add the folk parts.
What part of Ireland would this style be from?
awesome is this a classical piece?
Traditional tunes, my arrangement.
keep it up. its awsome. love the bass . do you have a bandcamp or something to buy songs?
Just download it if you like it, bro =) www.youtube-mp3.org/
Nice!... what kind of flute is used to play this song?
Susato Oriole Bb
Hi. Can I use this for one of my videos about Ireland? Thanks
Sure
FlatEarth Photography post the link here when it's finished 😀
Can someone give me a link to notes please
How long did it take you to master this on the mighty tin whistle?
A year maybe
Hmm..how about just learning Cooley's Reel?
