I have officially watched almost all your videos and i can safely say: i love you
The most informative planted tank cleaning video ever.
I have been looking for a video like this for a long time, and no one really touched on removing algae. Some did touch on it, but didn't actually show how to really do it. And you my friend, hit the nail on the head. You also showed what and how much of the chemicals to use on a tank of that size. Now I'm not that paranoid on starting up a nano tank to get started and learn before I go to my 29 long gallon tank. Great job!!!
Great video! And that siphon trick looks like it tastes way better than what I’ve been doing.
Love these how-to videos. The mega builds and such are cool, but some basic here's how to do [whatever] so you don't completely mess your tank up are awesome! Also, Thomas is hilarious and informative!
Awesome video. I know it's quite uncharacteristic for Thomas to let a tank get like this, it must have been driving him crazy, but it was really nice to see your techniques for cleaning a tank that if i'm honest sometimes looks like mine...
I might sound like I'm a tad on the dumb side, but since I've never used an algae magnet (I do it the old fashioned way) I always wondered if you had to keep repositioning the magnet to go by the corners. Now I see it just does it by itself. Just goes to show you can learn something everyday. Thanks, or should I say tanks Thomas. Now I must rush out and get me one of those algae magnets.
Very informative and well put together for the layman. You always add your character which is amusing Thomas.
Keep up the good work.

Thomas you are great! Keep doing what u r doing 👍🏻 I was never a fish person but u inspired me and now i have 2 tanks goin (looking at a 3rd) all in one month 🙈🙈🙈
It still looks so good though man. ✌🙂 Love those stones. They match the substrate so well. 🙏🙏
Awesome video! Can you make a video about the best way to move fish and aquariums from house to house?
Really enjoy watching u and your videos! You're funny!!! 😊😊😊
A very helpful video, thanks
Great video, thanks. I´m currently fighting algae on a weekly basis. Although I do my routine gravel cleaning, water change and excel dosing, I still cannot get rid algae completely. Worst part is the brown algae which is permanently sitting on some of my anubias. Any ideas on how to get rid of it? Maybe remove completely the affected leafs?
That tank looks really good for not doing anything for 4 weeks..... great video. Thank you.
Heey, i like your videos and i specifically like the low tech stuff. i always loved fish keeping. starting off at my parents with a tiny goldfish pond to a koi pond. now living on my own with partner. i have talked my way in to have a indoors tiny pond for water for the cats. a basically simple nice aesthetic planter with substrate and pond plants. threw some guppies in and a pomp for circulation. No filtration. Since a half year now. water crystal clear plants going great. had a few dead onces at the start. now in stead of a few guppies we have +/- 60. And we never chanced water except replacing what the cats drunk. crystal clear water. now i found my way too set up a 75gallon. thats been standing empty for a while now. trying to get it sorted part for part.
keep up the videos and i hope i can get the same luck as we have with our kiddy pond.
"Pit of algae and despair" classic Thomas
Your staurogyne repens fared beautifully. That would be acceptable even in a maintained tank.
as always thanks for the great info!
Thomas can you tell me what circulation pump you are using in that tank? Need one for my 55. Thanks.
Thx! My grandma is over right now. Just got back from Whitehorse!
You're so cute! I love watching your videos! You are so upbeat!
Slowly getting live plants added to my new tank. Was wondering how to go about vacuuming around the plants. Nice timing. Thanks 🐙
Any decent siphon tube in an appropriate size will do just fine.
Hi Thomas! Thanks so much for all the videos. It really helps me with my aquarium. The best!
That circulation pump is a Hydor Koralia? Do you think will be good for a column planted aquarium? 15 gallons. Thanks again!
Great video👍What are your dosing schedules and do you follow the bottles recommendation for dosing?
did you watch the vid? it's in the first min 1:00
Yes I did he says he doses every couple days I meant the exact amount. Or does he go by plant load for the amount he uses.
What’s your schedule weekly though? Or daily?
What brand is that algae scraper that would be amazing to have! I can't find any that are flat like that the mini ones I find are like a dome shape.
Nevermind I found it idiot me didn't look close enough at the scraper when it was in the tank duhhh
@@Godsgreatphotagraphy So what was it mate ? Can you throw a link
Two Little Fishies ATLNM1 Nanomag Window Clean Device www.amazon.com/dp/B001JSTHXS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_5yYsDbFC4KWPK
They also make an even smaller one called the betta mag
@@Godsgreatphotagraphy Thank you :) !
Thomas I'll be moving soon should I keep as much water from my 55 gallon as possible or just the media?
Ok I'll call
Can you do a brackish water aquarium video set up
Love your videos! Always so informative and knowledgeable. Will an algae magnet work with a bow front tank??
What circulation pump is that?
Really enjoyed your video!
I'm wanting to do a planted aquarium in my new 55 gal tank, what substrate would you suggest? I plan on getting kribs and small rams.
hello, LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!. can i make a planted aquarium with no Co2?, with the no need co2 plants of course...
I lost 2 red phantom tetras due to cotton mouth disease even if I treated them with seachem sulfaplex. I have a 30 gallon tank planted and well decorated. My plan was to put some pearl gouramis in. The only red tetra is doing fine as the black neon tetras and they eat when I give them food. I still medicate the aquarium. Should I stop the treatments or continue it? I also don't have a quarantine tank. What should I do before adding new fish?
Do any of your chemical treatments potentially damage/deplete your snails’ shells? I have a planted tank with Mystery Snails and avoid certain chemicals. I only use Flourish Fertilizer for the plants, Prime for water conditioning & powdered calcium weekly for the snails’ shell health. Do you think I’m missing or doing anything incorrectly? Thx & cool vid 👍
I use replenish too but only because my water is softened
This is the first time I hear a carbon substitute fertilizer! I'm wondering what is the main ingredient of that! please explain more! I don't like to add co2 to tank, I prefer the fertilizer form.
Your magnetic is very beautiful, will it found in online shopping like Amazon,Flifcard
Do you need to dose Excel to keep the aquarium alage free? I have corkscrew Val... Excel will kill it correct? How should I keep alage under control?
I found my Val's got used to excel after a while. Start with small doses and work your way up to whatever your dosage should be
What's your dosage shedules? :)
I'm new to the hobby. I have yet to set up a tank, do you use tap water to top up the aquarium?
You can! Just make sure to use a dechlorinator and watch more of these videos :)
Thats a nice mag wiper, what is it?
@@NaturalAquaria Thanks!
Sadly its a US product that I can't easily get here. :(
I have a mag cleaner already, but its a bulky white brick of a thing that's kinda ruining the view in my 20 gal.
Love you big als
I need help I got algae growing on my leaves and it’s turning the leaves clearish any ideas?
What glass algae scraper is that?
Great!
What glass scraper is that
Does big als price match in Canada ?
What kind of plants are those?
Why not use a UV light for the algae?
Thats a small power head, what pump is it ?
Those things are small, i like it!
That window there in front of the tank also doesn't help with algae
Dimensions of 60cm Dutch style tank, plz tell me.
According to Seachem, you should use Equilibrium for a planted tank, not Replenish. The salts in Replenish aren't good for plants.
I have a queston. Does sand get algea?
I want a magnet like that please!!!

I have a question - would you rather fight one Justin Bieber sized duck, or one hundred duck sized Justin Biebers?
