      Still using them. No overhauls. I just oil & lube every other year is all. All my original whites are still good.

    Hi Scuba Chris. I use a 5500 for yellowtail spinning in cape Town south Africa. The new blue azores looks amazing. The azores performs well. I use it with 25lb mono. Hope to come to Hawaii one day.

    Interesting new reels. Do they offer a bait feeder spinning reel in their product line for hd use ?

    • @ScubaChris
      @ScubaChris  6 лет назад +1

      No Azores bait feeders but a lot of their other spinners bf are like Avenger, Ceymar, Coronado, ABF, Powerliner & Trios.

    Chris are you going buy the Makaira Spinning reel? I would like to purchase one but nothing much info online.

    Hi Chris love the video keep them coming...quick question the 6000h how much 50lbs braid will it hold? Some one told me only 150 yards.

    • @ScubaChris
      @ScubaChris  6 лет назад

      Mine took 220yd 50lb JB. You gotta check line diameter of the braid first before spooling.

    Do you ever fresh water fish? If so what rods and reels do you recommend to a newbie on fishing? Im the newbie. 🤔🤔🤔

    • @ScubaChris
      @ScubaChris  6 лет назад

      If you whip try either the HCS Menpachi Rods or the Rockaways w/a Azores 40. Dunking? 11' Cedros Heavy for big inshore fish w/a 65 Azores, 12' Cedros MH for medium inshore fish w/a 55 Azores. For big boys either or both HCS Ulua Rods MH or H. I personall like the MH. Reels? Tesoro 12's or Solterra 15's. Of course it's up to you but this is what i use. I suggest starting off with a 11ft Rockaway w/a 40 Azores Spinner with 20lb braid. Next i'd get a dunking rig. This way you can chunk a bait while whipping off on the side.

      It is, just the sizing is changed, not the units. These are powerful spinners! I held a 5ft GT for 45min with the older white unit until it cut line.

    • @ScubaChris

      Nothing wrong with Shimano. I used to use Shimano reels on Daiwa rods. There are many good companies out there. Just need to choose what's best for the way you fish & the species you target.

      This was first released overseas before being re-marketed for US distribution. 5500 for overseas IS the 6K in the USA. Being a Staffer & Product Tester i received some of the earlier models before distribution. Overseas eBay sellers were selling the 5500 back in 2018.

      Really? There's a lot of YT vids of this reel being used in Asia & Australia for big fish like groupers & GT's before it's release in the US. I use it and nothing about it is "cheap". I suggest you try one to make a fair assumption.
