Hi Scuba Chris. I use a 5500 for yellowtail spinning in cape Town south Africa. The new blue azores looks amazing. The azores performs well. I use it with 25lb mono. Hope to come to Hawaii one day.
@@ScubaChris Thank for the reply. I saw Jandh have few 10000s on sale but they all are Ls I believed. Okuma have created such nice piece of engineering in the Makaira but too bad it is so limited
I recently had a note from someone from Okuma. They're starting to come in. I suggest keeping tabs on Tackle Direct & Okuma's site. I'm not sure yet but what a sock stuffer!
If you whip try either the HCS Menpachi Rods or the Rockaways w/a Azores 40. Dunking? 11' Cedros Heavy for big inshore fish w/a 65 Azores, 12' Cedros MH for medium inshore fish w/a 55 Azores. For big boys either or both HCS Ulua Rods MH or H. I personall like the MH. Reels? Tesoro 12's or Solterra 15's. Of course it's up to you but this is what i use. I suggest starting off with a 11ft Rockaway w/a 40 Azores Spinner with 20lb braid. Next i'd get a dunking rig. This way you can chunk a bait while whipping off on the side.
Nothing wrong with Shimano. I used to use Shimano reels on Daiwa rods. There are many good companies out there. Just need to choose what's best for the way you fish & the species you target.
This was first released overseas before being re-marketed for US distribution. 5500 for overseas IS the 6K in the USA. Being a Staffer & Product Tester i received some of the earlier models before distribution. Overseas eBay sellers were selling the 5500 back in 2018.
Really? There's a lot of YT vids of this reel being used in Asia & Australia for big fish like groupers & GT's before it's release in the US. I use it and nothing about it is "cheap". I suggest you try one to make a fair assumption.
Scuba Chris, it was really nice meeting you last Sunday at to Dive and Fishing Expo. Good luck in your fishing outing to come. Aloha, Jeep
Yes, i remember you! Thanks for dropping by Jeep! Just finished the video on the Fish & Dive Expo.
How are the blues holding up now 6 years later?
Still using them. No overhauls. I just oil & lube every other year is all. All my original whites are still good.

It is amazing! The feel, power & price point as well! Thanks for the note. Spinning is always fun & relaxing.
Interesting new reels. Do they offer a bait feeder spinning reel in their product line for hd use ?
No Azores bait feeders but a lot of their other spinners bf are like Avenger, Ceymar, Coronado, ABF, Powerliner & Trios.
Chris are you going buy the Makaira Spinning reel? I would like to purchase one but nothing much info online.
I've requested the 10 for RH i think there's no more 10's RH in stock. A net search showed the few i've seen online are LH.

@@ScubaChris Where would I be able to take a look at Okuma reels on Oahu?
Right now i've seen them at P.O.P. I know they're at Roy's too.
Hi Chris love the video keep them coming...quick question the 6000h how much 50lbs braid will it hold? Some one told me only 150 yards.
Mine took 220yd 50lb JB. You gotta check line diameter of the braid first before spooling.
WHEN exactly in 2019 will these be release into online stores like amazon? Early January 2019 or even in time for Christmas? :D

Nice jersey and hat
Thanks! New company colors for 2019. Will be used on gear & packaging as well.
Do you ever fresh water fish? If so what rods and reels do you recommend to a newbie on fishing? Im the newbie. 🤔🤔🤔

Dang I should've gotten this one instead of the older model
Nothing wrong with the older model. Just a new color & size designation.
Nice the blue though
Scuba Chris if I buy a 8000 the size of the real will be 6500?
I'm still waiting for mine so can't answer this question yet until i know for sure.
What type of metal are is the gearing system made of ???? Also is it water proof ?
Not water sealed, very few are water sealed.
@@ScubaChris What type of metal is the gearing system made of ?
I buy 6500 blue and it is good
It is, just the sizing is changed, not the units. These are powerful spinners! I held a 5ft GT for 45min with the older white unit until it cut line.
Cuánto de drag tiene?
The drag on the Blue Azores 4K is 28lbs, on the 6K it's 29lbs, on the 8K & 14K it's 44lbs.
shimano is the way to go...

@@markmanson5035 Everyone has their favorite company & product, mine is Okuma. Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with any company.
