one of the many things I enjoy about listening to maiden is that they usually play better live....9.9 times out of 10 they are spot on and the little fills added are not intrusive they just blend in smoothly..... Nicko is especially good at that it's almost definitely very underrated...every one knows the name but they don't know the music

Just like the emotion that the opening chord of Children Of The Damned conjures. Heartbreakingly beautiful.

I remember the year before .. 81 and nobody knew who Maiden was .. and they opened for Priest as well .. by the second song .. the concert hall rocked .. and I remember Adrian Smith coming to the Mixing board .. and I wanted to go up and tell him .. Excellent .. 30 years ago .. opportunity lost
I love Adrian and his chubby cheeks, godamn can he play!!!! the only thing that would have made this better is Clive on the kit ~ what a drummer he was! now he watches over the band and makes sure Nicko doesn't fuck up any of the songs :) LOVE this band !!
