I own 5 - Axis (original), OG 2.0, Original (1.0), Summit (with Armour and have two of sleeves as well), and the Ascent - They are all great - summit is my favourite for just a few cards as it is SOOOOO small, but the OG2.0 is a fairly great metal wallet and has a satisfying 'snap' to the cord that keeps everything in place. I do like the ascent as well, but don't carry it very often anymore.
I have 5 at last count; Two Ascents, two Elements an Original and a Summit. The Ascent followed by the Gen1 version of the Element though are my favorites.
Renegade - Just something satisfying about the experience of carrying it. Different size, matches up with your cellphone footprint. Thinner than the other Travax wallets I have (Summit, Element, Ascent), all of which I love.
I bought my TrayVax Ascent last year - it’s THE best wallet I have ever used. 👌🏼👌🏼 The only thing I would say is that all the brownish leather colours will inevitably all end up looking the same - I bought the stone coloured one which looked superb when new however now, it’s literally just a dark brown colour but that’s the nature of leather I guess! Still the best wallet I have owned and still using mine. I have 3 cards in the front (embossed) and 3 in the back (not embossed) and it works fine.
After owning the Ascent for about 6 years now. The enjoyment comes as it patinas, the leather softens. I mistakenly gave my first one away because I didn't understand that it would stretch with time. Still going strong my favorite over all of the wallets.
Once again your channel is amazing. Just wondered my self and my dad a Trayvax wallet. His was looking so sad....old, falling apart, rubber band to hold it together. He doesn't like new things...lol. I recently wrote a review to Trayvax and wrote a shout-out to your channel for helping me. Thank you, and keep up the great content and honest reviews.
An early addition to my collection, I went from being a fan to really having a dislike for it. It's among the heaviest of my wallets, what with the thick metal at its core. I wanted minimalism and though you can fend off an assailant by beating them with it, the weight was too large a trade off. Secondly, it took ages to break in enough to carry my 5 cards and ID. Tough to load, tough to remove. By the time it broke in nicely, all was going well and there was a time we were happy together. Alas, seasons change. I ditched 2 of my cards and no longer needed as much cash. With 3 cards and ID, the old girl had become rather slack. I'd pull this impressive chunk of metal and distressed leather from the pocket swing it around proudly as eyes widened, only to have my cards dump out. Fail. A proud moment followed by snickering. All kidding aside, these sleeve style wallets have an inherent weakness in their being tight or loose. Others have gotten around this with an elastic sleeve of some sort. Others, a flap or snap. It was also heavier than any wallet I've owned. Sadly, this still impressive beast now sits atop my dresser. Like an aging child actor, it is at once handsome, but deeply flawed. In the clearer view of retrospect, I'd have passed on the Summit.
Our journey with experimenting with different wallets helps us find our path. That said, you made me laugh when you said, "Like an aging child actor, it is at once handsome, but deeply flawed"...awesome 😂
@@ResplendentRaider Hahah.. it seems. Anyway, it's a cool wallet and with its distressed leather, matches my jeans and Iron Ranger boots. Most days, though, I want my front pocket to feel empty. TG we can have more than one wallet. Cheers!
Ya know, I never really put a 2nd thought into my wallet ....then I found this channel maybe 2 months ago and I watch every video and I’ve bought quite a few wallets haha, my current one that I use is the SaddleBack Minimal Front Pocket Wallet
I love Trayvax, had an OG 2.0 since they came out and dithered about upgrading to this one for a long time. In the end I thought I'd prefer something lighter so went with a Mr Lentz. To be honest if this review had been around a few months ago I might have gone a different way...
Correction: quality five plus :) This is the "one millionth" video of the Trayvax Wallet what I have ever seen but still enjoy it. The blend of leather and metal is impressive. Trayvax is one of my favorite brands.
Unlike the complexities in some of their other wallets (which are cool, don't get me wrong), the simplicity of this one is just good. Amazing materials and solid.
walletopia, am still in the Shell Cordovan phase my friend. Ashland Leather ‘Bugs Moran’ in Blue and reverse interior or a Das Offene Meer ‘Top Slider Quickdraw’ in Cognac Shell 😀
walletopia, the intense Blue Shell ‘can’ look incredible in the lighter shades of it. I wanted a massively coloured and dye splotched reverse interior, so I chose my wallet from pictures of their stock, which also meant my Blue exterior shell is more of a deeper Navy kind of colour. The interior though is incredible. 👍🏻🙂
Maybe not as heavy for sure. The rigidity of the metal really provides the "beefy", "healthy" feel to the wallet. But yes, it could use some weight loss.
I can imagine this design would appeal to people who perhaps work in construction, farming etc. A rugged, durable and strong wallet like this would appeal to that customer base more in my view. I can't see myself pulling this wallet out at a formal dinner party for instance, so I wouldn't be comfortable using it.
I think a better question would be why you have a tendency to flourish your wallet at formal dinner parties. It's been awhile since I've been to one, but I did not pull my wallet out once! 😂
Django wallets are absolute TRASH compared to Trayvax products. I wouldnt recommend Django products at all . Every single wallet I've bought from them lasted less than a year with basic use before breaking down.
I'm sure this wallet isn't too heavy, but it looks like it is, however, it looks less gimmicky than some of their other wallets, but regardless, more variety for all.
Indeed. All Trayvax wallets are incredibly unique, some I would call Rube Goldberg-esque, but this one is straight up simple and solid. It is a bit heavy though at 98 grams.
Trayvax wallets usually leave me pretty cold. They just look over built and too tacticool. But, I've just watched this review twice and now I'm trying to convince myself that I really don't need another wallet.
When I did the review, the quality of leather wasn't listed so I sent them an email. I just went to the site to check and they've added the type of leather to the product page and now it says it's top-grain. Still good leather. Not sure if the rep didn't know or they changed the type.
@@walletopia I did the same and when I called they said full grain?!? I’m thinking the people answering the emails aren’t sure. Still a good wallet regardless.
They need to forget about that packaging. Just put the wallet in a plastic bag, then in an envelope and send it to you. The box, Which will never use again, probably adds $10 to the cause of the stupid wallet. I know they want to look high class at all, but forget about it. Just make a good product and keep the packaging, shipping, and handling to a bare minimum.

Hi Mike, if you were looking for a light wallet the Ascent would make you pause. It's 98 grams heavy, the Mr. Lentz is 48 grams by comparison.

Got one of these! 😆 You knew that though didn’t you? lol. Great wallet but it’s now been moved to my “I am bored of metal in wallets” drawer. 😀👍🏻
Yes, we've talked about that! So what phase of wallet "type" are you in now? 😀

Probably the first "rigid" type wallet that I would consider. Can't help but wonder if it would be a better wallet without the metal though...
Maybe not as heavy for sure. The rigidity of the metal really provides the "beefy", "healthy" feel to the wallet. But yes, it could use some weight loss.
Can I just fit 3 cards without falling out? 2 on the front and 1 in the quick access?
Yes, the leather is pretty tight to begin with so if that's all you want to put in, it will work just fine.

Mark would it be possible for you to do an in depth comparison of Trayvax vs Django wallets? It seems like they have the same target audience.
Great idea, we'll start work on that.
Django wallets are absolute TRASH compared to Trayvax products. I wouldnt recommend Django products at all . Every single wallet I've bought from them lasted less than a year with basic use before breaking down.
Great review, it would be great to see a review for the Trayvax Epiphany Clutch.
Noted! Do they still have that? It was an interesting experiment in 2018 and they have the Roam clutch now.
I just start to think about Trayvax and this one seems to be the best one till now ! I am also liked the OG 2.0 but I am afraid to damage the cards .

It’s a slippery slope, be careful! 😂
i'm a little conflicted between the contour and the ascent but i'm leaning more towards the ascent because of it's simplicity and price point
You should look at the recycled firefighter wallets
Yes! We have their combat sergeant in inventory. I'll add your vote to it!
@@walletopia awesome!

i have this one and it is well-made but it's very wide compared to the contour wallet. That's the one I use. the contour holds more cards also.
Agreed, the Contour is their best wallet in my opinion.
Will you do a second look on the ascent?
It usually involves some public shaming of me and personal introspection of the stupid things I missed 😂
So what did I miss?
FOCX everyday wallet next please 😊
Love the review. Next Trayvax: OG 2.0?
Hi Samuel, it's coming up!
You could look at A-Silm wallets?
Thanks Matthew, I like what I see there, which model interests you the most?
walletopia the Chikara and Machete and Origami all look great!
BHAG translates to 'Run' in Hindi+ languages.
Seems apt.
