Mee/Mie goreng is a very wide category for fried noodles in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. If you go to North Celebes for example the mie goreng is made with a lot of pork and eaten with fresh salsa called "dabu-dabu". This is very different to the standard mie goreng that you will get in say South Borneo or East Java. Same with "Malayan" style red mee goreng in here which is different to the Sarawakian mee goreng.
