The controller is actually not as big a concern as it seems. Controllers like this or modified and used for stuff like military operations all the time. The main issue is the disregard for regulations in building the sub. There were so many red flags, but they just ignored them.

Its wild to me how much time and money is spent on this. If we wanna save lives, there’s like 100k ppl that need a 5k surgery to live. The net lives saved per dollar would be better focused elsewhere
That would save poor people, though, not rich people. So the people in control of the distribution of money, who are themselves rich, don't want to do things that way. They protect 'their kind' (other rich people), but feel that rescuing poor people in trouble would give us 'ideas' about our station in the world.
It's absolutely laughable what a fucking circus it's every time when a rich person disappears. They knew what they were doing, they signed a contract that said the company isn't liable if they die, so leave them at the bottom of the ocean, they belong there with other leeches and whatever.

Why do people think debates are still a good way of getting to the bottom of an issue? One person can just unleash an avalanche of lies and nothing is achieved. What we need is a series of debunking videos with evidence. It might take a little longer but the end result would actually be worthwhile

When the USS Thresher sank in 1963, the rescue ships also heard banging, that was later determined to be mechanical sounds from the rescue boats themselves. Also, one thing I learned from watching airplane disaster documentaries is that repeated pressurization and depressurization is very hard on structural integrity, which is why airplanes that fly frequent short flights (like hopping between islands in Hawaii) wear out faster than planes that do fewer long flights. So it was a matter of time until the sub imploded, if they weren't doing proper maintenance checks to look for signs of wear and tear, which I highly doubt they were.
Should've bought the submarines seen in the 'Titanic' - that are actual subs but extremely expensive made here in Finland and still in use. (Also - those 'American' cruise ships are all made here in Turku/Åbo, Finland)
20:18 Damn can't wait for Schrodinger's Submarine to give us an answer x3 To be fair , they knew the risks and they are not this important to save but we do have to do what is possible i guess. i just wish we would apply that standard to all human people and not just pick and choose who gets a huge effort to save them. I get it circumstances are special but hey you can find consolation in the fact that they'll have their own coffin together. Hope they had some fun time down there in their last moments and didn't try to kill each other to be the last one breathing the last oxygen. It's fascinating a third party controller navigates this submarine. How this submarine is still operational despite having so many warnings given not to do so is mind boggling.
The controller is actually not as big a concern as it seems. Controllers like this or modified and used for stuff like military operations all the time. The main issue is the disregard for regulations in building the sub. There were so many red flags, but they just ignored them.
hey it could have been made by madcatz
Apparently this controller is commonly used in submersibles and other vehicle applications
To be fair... I don't think it's currently considered operational.
They wouldn't have died if they dropped the cash for a scuf controller. Those paddles make the pro gamer difference every time

The submarine company must've lived their life by "move fast and -break- sink things"...
Dude no one talking about the decompression rate so even if the found it like 20mins or so before the oxygen runs out and brings it to the surface they would still have to worry about the bends killing them too 😢
Let's be honest, they are probably not coming out of this one. So as morbid as it sounds, I hope it was a quick death. The thought of being down their stuck for days is too much. Thats a rough way to go.
Well boys it’s over… R.I.P. Titan sub and it’s crew… damn that’s a hell of a way to go 😢
Its wild to me how much time and money is spent on this.
Too woke

"Catastrophic implosion" is the new word of the day!
20:31 "Maybe they left a note" - Holy shit! what i would pay to have an audio recording of their whole ordeal in the death tube. Will be good psychological research for the crews of future doomed space missions. Strong work as always, gentlemen!
Would be good intro material for a death metal album too
That would be horrifying. 🤪
The fact that you would pay for that recording makes you very weird sir.......... and i would also pay for that recording! 😂
It would be fun to fall asleep listening to rich assholes panic at the bottom of the ocean, knowing they will die soon. Man, I bet I'd have the best sleep of my life after listening to that.
The whistleblowing is a perfect example about how saying that it's up to you to ensure the safety at your workplace is actually just bullshittin know you get fired and replaced by someone who won't say anything or doesn't know to say anything.
Such a submersible should have a package of very potent opioids on bord so the passagers could have at least the choice to leave into a cozy dream rather than a horrifying nightmare of psychoterror..
Why is this actually a good idea
WOOO its time for the boys! also, the third party controller having bad reviews is an incredibly iconic detail in this entire shitshow.

Sweet Sanguisugabogg shirt Ricky, saw them with Vomit Forth
I sense an internet historian video about the sub coming out in the next year or so

Yet another great episode from RUclips’s hidden gem, internet today
you know a channel has a special place in your heart when you visibly smile when they say they're about to his 1000 videos :)
It would be funny if the banging noise they are tracking was finally located and it turned out to be one of those home made drug smuggling submarines with some cartel guy inside when they pulled it up.
Or orcas fucking around 😂
Plot twist: it's a survivor or the original Titanic still inside the ship.
Nah it's just an octopus playing with the submersible wreckage.
I heard the banging is from a 2nd sub full of ex Astros players.
I don’t think those cross the Atlantic? Mainly Gulf of Mexico or pacific coast iirc
Ricky and Eliot reading the Facebook posts exactly as they were written was so funny! Nothing but geniuses on Facebook, truly.
Having a doctor "debate" an antivaxxer is how the antivaxxer movement started in the first place. A doctor can bring all the facts they want, but an antivaxxer can always just pull something out of their ass as a "rebuttal".
especially since in a live debate, you cant fact check it, they could literally make up a study whole cloth and the only response you can give is "well i havent heared of that one i will have to look into it later" and you come off looking like the ignorant one
@@seelcudoom1the antivaxxer might look ignorant and imbecilic to us but to the uneducated that antivaxxer looks like a messiah 🤷🏽♂️ in my opinion, smart people should never debate a dumb person because you’ll never win and they’ll start to make sense to the people on the fence.

Wait really? Source?
My question is, what was the banging they were hearing?
@@angelingray the ocean is loud.
3:01 - Anyone else hearing an audio glitch at about this point? How does that even happen like that?
All this time searching for the sub to find out it imploded right next to the titanic xD so titan and titanic share a grave.
About channel memberships, I believe you can only gift it during a livestream. Or you guys can put up something like a free chat stream (i.e. stream scheduled for an unrealistic time like 2 years so it stays up a long time) and people can superchat and/or gift memberships there.
You guys were pretty spot on as to what happened to the Titan.
Why do people think debates are still a good way of getting to the bottom of an issue? One person can just unleash an avalanche of lies and nothing is achieved. What we need is a series of debunking videos with evidence. It might take a little longer but the end result would actually be worthwhile
That's called the scientific process

In fairness, everyone involved in this likely has a bit of scumbag in them. Except for the 19 year old who I can see being bullied into doing this.
@@MrKeychange You don't know that...he could of requested it as a graduation present from his rich dad or something. That's the age when you are the

@@courtzfrancis8104 Well as it turned out report says ..the son had a bad feeling about going, he went anyway to bond with his father.
BillionaireFights! That would be great... a show for the people!
The ancient Buzz clocking that dude is the second greatest thing that man has done.
Should've bought the submarines seen in the 'Titanic' - that are actual subs but extremely expensive made here in Finland and still in use. (Also - those 'American' cruise ships are all made here in Turku/Åbo, Finland)
They found a possible debris field from the sub, so it might have instantly imploded. (Which is more merciful than the other bad option.)
Was just thinking that... second best outcome - quickish death.
20:18 Damn can't wait for Schrodinger's Submarine to give us an answer x3
To be fair , they knew the risks and they are not this important to save but we do have to do what is possible i guess. i just wish we would apply that standard to all human people and not just pick and choose who gets a huge effort to save them. I get it circumstances are special but hey you can find consolation in the fact that they'll have their own coffin together. Hope they had some fun time down there in their last moments and didn't try to kill each other to be the last one breathing the last oxygen.
Also i'd never go in a submarine that didn't have a way to recycle it's own air and also private quarters for taking a shit. What a way to go .
23:55 I almost had a stroke reading that sentence!😂😂😂😂
R.I.P. to the sub ppl. Hope it leads to tougher safety regulations including a way to escape
I think thats why they operated it off shore, it was a grey area for regulation.
Kind of like how the Titanic led to safety regulations for ships. It all comes full circle.
It will not and DOES NOT need to lead to Safety regulations.

There definitely gonna be a movie based on this story or Netflix documentary
Any movie would be based on pure speculation. That doesn't sound like fun. Too bad the vessel doesn't have an internal audio recorder so we could hear how the end actually played out. I guess if they find it, the position of the bodies might tell us something.
