I wonder how these sorts of things are discovered-, but seriously that is such a life saver! Even being somewhat good with floating it's so painfull to use, snowmen teapot user's beloved. Thanks for sharing!
This was already one of my favorite events to begin with because of all the lore and such. But now it comes back around with that silly snowman and makes teapot builds easier too? Truly the gift that keeps on giving.
Not sure if you know this already or not, but the teapot gadget can be used as well if you place a floating island, then place the gadget on the island before going back into editing mode.
I'm on PS4 and I've been trying to float a stone bench for hours using old method and snowman method. The only thing I've managed to float is the snowman.
oh my god... I was just thinking about using floating but ran into a problem since I already placed everything down just how I liked. I had wanted to add in the ship from the latest Archipelago event and needed to get rid of some of the floating lands to do so so I would have had to redo _everything_ just to lighten the load a smidge. To make it worse the build is at max height so using the normal float is an absolute nightmare when trying to get "under" anything... The build already had a snowman in it... I cannot expressed how excited I am that this method exists. Sincerely this will make everything so much easier, thank you so much for sharing this with everyone! 💖💕💖
Thank you! I wanted to redecorate one of my Emerald Peak's area that have 2 levels and for the first time noticed that problem when trying to float things there, this video really came at the right time. Congratz on finally finding out about it! For those who don't have the snowman, there is supposedly coming a "robot" figure in the future that might work the same, so not all hope is lost! ^^ I mainly use the ps4 where i much prefer the sky/nothingness method, which works 100% of the time, anywhere (though sadly haven't seen it covered anywhere), so i didn't realize how convenient the snowman method is for pc and mobile players!
Any luck with the Aranara statues for people who missed the winter event? Looks like they use the same code as the snowmen. excellent soundtrack choice btw, always nice to see some Gravity Rush love!
Omg listening to 4:15 I feel like an idiot, cus I did my build on the bottom part, and it was hell trying to keep it close to the ground 😭 it could all been avoided if I just moved a bit.
NOOOOO Im so sorry man ;o; We'll have to start experimenting with all the other furnishings and see if there's anything else aside from the snowmen that can initiate the float too
Not sure if this is relevant or just a coincidence but I wasn’t able to float furniture if the snowman had other accessories on (hat, eyes, scarf, etc). So if your floating isn’t working try that. It started working for me right after I took off accessories!
yOOOOOOOO!! I'll have to take out a snowman from my one area cause I lined them all up but I will safely retire one of them if it means I can float things without a hassle!
Berger. I tried to use the new aranara carving as a replacement of the snow. I did get some objects to float. Iam not sure what iam doing right or wrong. Can you make a video of this new method of 3.0 in the teapot
thank god for this tip, my crappy mouse's scroll wheel zooms in in large segments so i can never have enough control to do the floating technique normally TT
Hi. I exchanged vouchers for some robots today and tried to use it for the floating technique to see if it worked for those who didn't have the snowman. I placed the snowman and robot next to each other to test at same angle/height. From what I tried it doesn't seem to work with the robot, although it did work with the snowman. I'm sorry :( Also a note about the robot event as someone might do the dumb thing like me: You can hold 25 (I think) vouchers at one time but you can only exchange up to 4 robots. So be careful what you exchange for as you might get stuck with robots you don't want like me. I wanted them all for collection purposes and didn't notice you were limited to how many you can exchange for. Quite disappointed with the event actually...
yea, can confirm, I just try the robot earlier but it's not work :/ felt so bad man, for some reason I don't have the snowman body and was hoping the robot can fix it :(
I just checked and you can float animals and companions using this, but only below the height of 2 I think. I managed to put a dog on a table, but that's it :D
Hi, could you pls go a little more in-depth with how to do the floating technique with the sinking? I've been trying to do it by observing how you've done it, but it's not really working for me for some reason, every time i align it the way you did it always auto selects the snowman. I've kind of just given up and left the platform i used to sink the object down in the ground
bro, at first you must click at furnishing that you need to float, and after this clicking to that thing trought the snowman's head, and when you clicking blue lines of furnishing must chande to a red colour for a second, and after that click "confirm"
As far as I've tested, it looks like the snowman head is the only one that works so far. I definitely haven't tried every single furnsihing, though, so if you have the patience for it it could def be worth doing the research to see if anything else fits! There's a good chance that those robot rewards from the upcoming build-a-robot event might work too, since they're the same type of furnishing that we place a head/ arms/ decos onto a plain body, so I would still hold out hope for that too!
