I had trouble with this technique then I figured out the problem! Hopefully this will help anyone else who's struggling. After selecting the foundations when creating the custom set, DON'T CLICK CONFIRM SET. Simply move the bottom foundation onto the other one, and _then_ click cancel.
Console & Mobile players - YOU CAN DO THIS. The steps are the same, just *DO NOT* use the sets function! It took me FOREVER to figure out. STEPS! *After* you place the tall number of blocks for your stairs. 1:32 Enter Multi-Select Mode L1 + △ Select each stair Press the ☰ Controller Pad button ( or the "Edit Selected Furnishings" option ) Proceed 1:40 with the rest of the video and steps exactly as it's shown. The major difference for mobile/console is NOT using the create sets. We don't need to do that step for this technique. I hope this helps someone.
It still works but for those who did it but still did not get it to work, basically at 1:44 do not save the custom set; just select from top to bottom AND THEN--without clicking "confirm"--take the whole stack and put it on top of the sunken foundation. The sunken foundation then becomes the first "step" of the stairs. That said, we do have proper blueprints for stairs available now and we can levitate them too, all the better for less load. If you want the spiral staircase though, you can still do this if you want.
a little tips for building the stairs if you use the rock-type floating island, the stairs will be build raised from the platform but if you use the soil-type floating island, the stairs will build lowered from the platform.
YES!!!! I finally did it! I was hitting confirm then picking up the stack. Didnt "get it" that you were still in create set mode. Fricken heck and a candy cane. whew...tytytyty8th try was the charm lol
nice it still works. i play on phone. Just rmbr dont click 'Confirm' at all after creating the stack set, just move it on top of the other platform then click 'Cancel'
I just mastered clipping and floating and I am ready to make stairs haha- will probably try sinking next! Thanks for these tips, this one was super easy to learn and I can't wait to replace my floating block stairs with these!
This video has popped up in my recommendations a few times by now but i always wrote it off as clickbait. But it's 3 am and i can't sleep so i went "fuck it I'll bite" What....the....fuck..... This is the single most useful teapot video i have ever watched in my life
there were some out of bound glitches back in 1.5, they're kinda complicated, but mhy fixed it asap after the glitch was found (and we are never able to do it anymore ;v;). Thankfully I tried once and my out of bound structure is still there, even now
Hi, thank you very much for the video. It has helped me a lot in building stairs for my teapot (tho its very frustrating mihoyo seems to enjoy making customization harder than it has to be). Around the 5:00 mark you talk about and show making the stairs go outside of the boundaries, however you are unable to save it. Have you found a way to be able to actually keep what you made go outside? Otherwise, its kind of pointless if it only works in editing mode.
no way ????? this just made my life a TON easier 😭😭😭 thank you for the fun and easy tutorial seriously how do some people even find these glitches out 0_0 i cant comprehend it but im very happy that there are a lot more methods now , thanks for making videos on them
WOW!! You talking to explain so well so I understand about at all. It is the more easy to learn from this video!!! Thank you so much! I'll subs for more content!
This is so cool! Makes me wonder what kind of math and code made this "bug" possible. :D Also I discovered your channel today and man u're so fun to listen to!
Heya, pardon me but may I ask is this tutorial video still works? I did not touch Teapot since 3.0. Are there changes or updates I need to know made this obsolete or is there another method? thanks in advance!
@@ChiyoTachi ^ same question if anyone can answer. honestly, it isnt working for me. i think its because of the hud where instead of create set, i need to multi select first before i can create a set, but im holding out hope that maybe im doing it wrong. EDIT: this is resolved! it still works. what i was doing wrong was clicking confirm on create set. when using the multiselect, click on the platforms from top to bottom, DO NOT CONFIRM to create set. instead, place on top of the one other platform, then cancel.
AT LAST!! A stairs technique thatst easy to do. Thanks. EDIT: I tried this, i didn't realize those stone blocks don't snap. You need to perfectly stack them without error. I always make floating platforms anywhere hahaha. It's not making a proper step coz it's not stacked perfectly. EDIT 2: Finally it made a stairs, but, it eas kinda slanting to the side. Maybe coz of the stacking of the stone blocks.
Thank you so very much! I can’t thank enough for this because I’ve tried using different stair techniques but they used up a lot of load. I just want to try this out but it’s maintenance for five hours. I just can’t tell you how thankful I am because this is saving me so much load. Thank you to whoever found this technique. I will say that you are a legend. But still. Hoyoverse. Just give us a set of stairs that can also go up or down like the sub-space platforms… and oh, make the load 40 to 60 like regular floating platforms, AND INCREASE THE LOAD LIMIT SO WE CAN ADD MORE BUILDS. Who knows Hoyoverse? You can find incredible builds that could be unimaginable but put into the teapot! Please, when will this day come… At least some furnitures have decreased loads for the update…
MOOD. I literally had to burn through 50 adeptal vials just to get enough of them for this video, let alone how many more I'm gonna have to burn through for the build I have in mind lmao ;o; one of these days
Do you have a sinking guide? Bc I really find it hard and confusing but you seem to explain things well and I really wanna hear and see a tutorial from u about it 😭
Ok so I’ve tried this a million times and every time I hit cancel at the very end, it just sends the stack back to its original spot. I’m using 5 blocks total as a test, but I’m doing everything else the same? I’m able to kinda get it to work if I rotate it but the bottom single block that’s “sunken” stays in place while the rest of them rotate, but they’re all still stacked on each other and don’t collapse into evenly raised levels. Do I just need more blocks so I’m hitting the red at the top?
Most of bugs envolving the main house in the teapot had been wipe out so idk anymore, gotta stuck w same old lame staircase that cant be use normally ig (*꒦ິ꒳꒦ີ)
I built 2 staircases this way, then when I try to make a third, I'm unable to place the stack on top of the other foundation. I'm using the same platform heights as the other ones I made, I'm selecting top to bottom. It just suddenly won't work, maybe like 10 minutes apart. Any advice? Something I'm doing wrong? I'm just trying to make 3 identical staircases and I did the first two with no issue...
HELP how do you remove the platform and get the set of fresh and mint stairs onto the ground? Thank you for the tutorial my teapot will literally reach a new height *chef kiss*
it works great but my bottom-est step is way too tall, as in the first step is way too steep, but the rest of them are fine. Am I doing something wrong?
LOL nah nah, forgive me pa - I just edited out the gaps inbetween placing the blocks down to fit the footage with my voice over. I wish we could place them down that fast though ;o;
It does as far as I've tested, at least among all the landforms. I think the reason this works is because every other landform has that bevel around the rim that dips down and lets you partially sink stuff into them, but the stone foundations only have a straight edge, and it's that discrepancy + being stackable that causes the bug? So if we get a smaller version of the stone foundation in the future (like maybe a perfect cube?), there's a chance this'll work with that too
For me. the create set buttom only appears after I select the whole tower. When I click on create set, the set is created inmediatly and there is no option to click cancel. Damm, this looked so simple....
question!! this is wonderful, but whenever i make the stairs they get stuck in the actual landform so im unable to properly use them. how do i fix this? if you need pics/vids let me know (:
You mean stuck to the floating platforms? You either grab the bottom-most or top-most (depending if you raised or lower the platform) stone block to move the entire staircase.
I’ve always wanted stairs for the teapot, there are so many good uses for it and I’m glad there’s a way now

Been watching you for awhile and this one guaranteed a sub and like from me

Did it work for you? I tried a lot of times and its not working?
Definitely using these to make a spiral staircase for my Sakura tree island shtick.
