I know there are already a lot of tutorials out there about these techniques but I still received comments in my videos from builders out there that are still confused about these floating & sinking methods. Sorry! I didn't include everything in my videos about these techniques! 🙇
But here it is! I created this tutorial for our new builders in this channel! 👷

You can float the sunk item and then retrieve the sunk platform to save a bit of load.

Do i need to float it first then sink it?
You sink it first. So when you select then float, its bottom is still underground

I swear serenitea pot is more about exploiting glitches than designing, but you can’t design cool things without the glitches
Lies I have a great teapot no glitches and max load on all islands. You just need some creativity

@@postlobotomyaventurine some items are possible to be merged/clipped, but you cannot sink them to the ground if you so wish, and only some designs float at most. Yes, you can clip items to make an impression, but I like the teapot grass that does not exist on top of the mount constructions, and the mount constructions take a bit too much space.
You can save a lot of load if you use these techniques and they still make a lot more designs possible, like adding a lot of depth into a mountain construct with minimal cost, and also having no height limit on stacking, or even making floating glowing grass
I have a Liyue-themed fish pond made with no glitches, but it has too much things I'm sure can be cut and I wanted my statue in the middle of the pond, but that still isn't possible without the float glitch.
@@VOlDNOVA yeah but that wasnt my point 😭 i was just saying that for a long time you couldnt even clip or merge furniture in the teapot without using glitches, and that op posted this comment back then. i use the floating glitch myself

@@TanjeKun I've been using float for a while but I don't have a snowman, and a teapot is accessible to literally everyone, so this was a godsend
Update: heres how to float anything in a simple way.
Requirements: 2 floating islands and the object you to float.
Method:
1-put the island at the hight you want the object to be floating in.
2-put the islands near each other. (We will call them island A and B).
3-put the object on island A.
4-merge the object with island B (make them a group).
5-now select island B and move it as group. The object should be moving with it and remain floating.
6-use island B as a way to move the object into the desired location.
7-when finish, go to island B and remove the merge (make then no longer group).
8-now you have floating object. It will save you space as you dont need anything to keep it floating.

AAAAHHHH, THANK YOU! New opportunities have opened up for me!I want to share my way to float small objects !
1. Take a floating platform (I take a wooden tile) and also take a floating stone.
2. Place the object you want to place in the air on wooden platform.
3. Raise the wooden platform along with the object to the height you need.
4. Create a set (connection) between an object on a wooden platform and a floating stone (we do not take a wooden platform)
5.Remove the wooden platform and...we're done! Now with the help of this stone platform you can move our object, and when you put it in the right place, the stone platform can be removed from the set and delete.
This method is good because as long as we have not removed the stone platform, we can adjust the position of the object. I always use this method when I want to place small decorative items on OTHER decor that is larger :)

btw, deses’ comment about floating the sunken item and retrieving the sunken platform to save load space, if anyone is wondering how to do it, do this:
1. place sereniteapot in front of the sunken ITEM not PLATFORM, and then do the usual floating method on it.
2. then click on the anchor of the sunken item and click ‘edit set’
3. deselect the anchor and the outline of the sunken platform should appear below the earth
4. drag the outline of the sunken platform out of the earth and out of the set and retrieve it
5. u can retrieve the anchor as well

@crowsguard when should i do this step?? When the item has already sunken?? Or where were just adjusted to be sunken??
@@veljamias4294 after it has sunken, otherwise the platform wouldnt be underground. while the object is sunken, float it, then remove the platform.
how do i know if i successfully floated the item if theres no red blue indicator?😢 ive tried it multiple times and it still wont float!!
@@t11fa25 you’ll know if the item is floated if you can move the lower platform and the item stays in place. i don’t know how you wouldnt be seeing either a red or blue indicator, because when you select an item, the rectangular border should be either red or blue and change to blue/flicker once floated.
bro i have to say. for years now i watched countless tutorials on sinking. i never got it. i struggled and sometimes "somehow" it worked. but then it didn't. your tutorial here is the easiest and best to understand for my brain. now everything works, thank you for this !!!!

i have tried many videos and this one is the shortest, to the point, and actually works
I like to do floating by putting the item i want to float on a flying rock or whatever those platforms are called and then i select the item and then i zoom in on the floating rock so that i can se the item from an underview and then i click on it again and then it floats. I dont know if i explained it correctly but the method you used is very creative and i thing it seems that it helps especially on mobile

I fing love you bro, I tried one method, and it's so stressful to perform because of "ground priority", it's difficult to explain, but this method is guaranteed to work with no RNG (in contrast to the ground priority I mentioned) required.

I still can't sink or float items I want to cry
They should remove those white boarders in the realms for more amazing decorating like for example the inazuman realm would not only have many beautiful decorations also many more design ideas and maybe add some caves that u can decorate and maybe removing the load thingy would make everything so much easier and better

thank god someone made a floating guide, im trying to make a christmas tree but the ornaments just wont stay in place i was going insane TT the version with the teapot was literally the only one that worked for me

I have 2 questions:
1. After you float or sink an item, can you move it around after? or you have to place it in the right spot from the begining?
if one can move the objects:
2. Can you move around the floated/sinked objects after you go live mode and go back to edit mode?

1. Based on my recent experience you can rotate these floated items but it will just go down if you try to move them around so it should be placed precisely from the beginning.
2. Yes you can still edit them or change their positions but you gonna repeat the floating/sinking steps :)

Every floating method i have tried hasn't worked. I am trying to float "light in the tranquil court". For some reason it never flashes red
oh, sometimes if the "floater" is too far it won't work, try zooming it in a bit to your screen :)
At this point, I just wanna give up on The Serenitea pot. It's become more complex than the last time I used it, and it was a year ago.
Sinking is so annoying, my anchor isn't going down. Its just dragging around in the air

How do you know how tall to put the second platform when sinking?
When i take the ground cube out, the funichuring was also take out.
oh, before taking it out make sure that when you click the base of the item you're floating it blinks from red to blue-- that indicates that you've successfully floated the furnishing

Hi, I'm in NA server so I'm trying to build it by myself since there's no code, but I'm having some issue with floating the multi-arched mondstadt building. I tried to use the 4 foundations of stone as shown in the video, but the building doesn't fit so it kept flashing red. I watched the floating tutorial, but I don't know which floating technique you used for that ? I'd really appreciate if you can guide me, since this is such gorgeous design and I'd love to have it in my teapot, thank you!
Hello! oh were you trying to build the Sakurazaki Ryokan? :D I used the teapot technique to float it: Make sure you summon the teapot on a higher angle from the building, then I placed the mondstadt building over the foundations of stone (let it sit there even if it's red) then try to angle the base of the mondstadt building behind the teapot then click it (it should blink red to blue) -- sometimes the teapot should be zoomed in a bit to successfully float the bldg. hope it helps!

The reason why I struggled was exactly as you pointed out: I placed the teapot on ground level, so it didn't work. Thanks so much for your help! I admired teapot mains before, but now I'm downright worshipping y'all, this took an insane amount of patience and I just barely started :((
