DIY video transmitter/Tv transmitter from old cd/dvd player

- I build a wireless analog video transmitter from old cd/dvd player. This device allows you to send an audio and video signal to your television.
Watch the entire video and see what parts i used and how i put them together.

Required components:
1x Audio/video RF circuit from ond cd/dvd player.
1x car font/rare view camera.
1x TP4056 Li-ion charger module.
1x 3.7v old mobile battery.
1x HT7333 voltage regulator.
1x 0.9v - 5v boost converter(OPTIONAL) for better distance/Range.
1x radio antenna.
1x red led.
2x 10uF capacitor.
1x 330 ohm resistor.
1x on/off push switch.
1x tic tac chocolate box.
Note: No need to build any external receiver. Directly tune on TV. Just connect an antenna on AV port of a Tv. And press the AV button on tv remote. The camera signal tune automatic on your tv through Av port

Sorry dear. Old Tv circuit only received video siglan. Do not transmit any video signal. You need those types of device which have build in video signal transmitter or you need to build your own transmitter Circuit.

Fantastic! Please tell me, if I remove the original cable, will I find only three wires (output) and can I use the 3v3 output of arduino nano or AMS1117 instead of the regulator shown in the video? And could you please make a similar video using arduino and nrf module if it is possible of course. Looking forward to your answer
If you get a voltage regulator inside the cable. Then actual working voltage of your camera is 3.3volt. If not, then your camera's working voltage is 12 volt. For that you need to use a 12v power supply or a boost converter with 3.7/4.2 volt lipo battery. You can use any kind of 3.3v regulator for 3.3 volt power supply.

Software defined radio(SDR) is a digital chip base warless comunication system which also required specific software. I thik it is much complicated to build at home.

I did not tested the maximum voltage range of the transmitter circuit. I think 5v -9v is ok. In this circuit there is a build in audio channel. You just need an audio amplifier And connect into the audio terminal on transmitter circuit.
Very cool man! I saw that your camera is a spare back camera of a car. Also you can try to put 0ohm resistor and a ceramic antenna. It works better for me

On the schema at 7:20 the Vin and Vout are on the wrong side from the TP4056, it says both on out

Florescent tube does not act as a transmitter. It’s act like an bidirectional dipole antenna.

i actually make 10 transmitters: 3 is for color info, that separates red, green, blue. i,ll use 10 bit rgb instead of 8 bit, so the value is 0-1023 (not 0-255); the other 3 is for luminance, it,s brightness, contrast, sharpness; other 3 is for audio bass, treble, stereo; last 1 is programming, to get some programs and broadcast them. without the tansmitter i said at last one, it transmitts blank and clean white screen without any audio because there is no information to video and audio. i connect the ten transmitters on laptop, and the image and sound on laptop, especialy for videos, it transmitts the full image when transmitters are complete number

This is a fun project which has 100-200 meter transmitting Range. If you want to broadcast your video all around the world. You should have to go your nearest tv broadcast station.🙂. Thank you.

No. You can use only this types of RF module which is directly send Av signal to the TV receiver. Av output of a digital camera also work like charm. Good luck

Thank you for your reply. Because am determined to replicate this project unfortunately I can't find an old VCD player but I found an old VCR player that has both RF input (antenna) and RF output(TV). Can this RF module work ? What other modifications can I make to make it work ?
Yes. It should be work. First, you have to identify the powe and video input terminal. 2nd, you have to determine the working voltage.
if you increase the receiver battery e.g. 11v 1500 ma , the screen will be more detailed.

What is the transmitting video distance and how to increase transmiting distance to high range say kilometers?
Indoor range of this transmitter around 30 meters and outdoor range around 100 meters. If you want to increase range. You should increase the tx and rx antenna range

which is the frequency that the television transmitter uses and also if it transmits in Pal or ntsc?
This Transmitter uses Reguler tv tuning frequency in both Pal and Ntsc.
Looks like the transmitter was salvaged from an old VCR. Here in the US that would transmit on either VHF channel 3 or 4 analog. It's just an AM transmitter, so you can use either NTSC or PAL. Audio, if used, is an FM sub carrier. Note that in the US you can't transmit on ANY TV channel. Not even under Part 15 rules. Video can only be transmitted by licensed broadcasters and Amateur Radio licensees. That being said... Don't expect to get any real range out a TV modulator like this. The picture will be quite snowy even when the transmitter is just a few feet away from the TV. You can do better by buying one of those 2.4 GHz camera and receiver combo with composite output. The video transmitter is FM. No snow (or very little). The range is a lot better, too. A solid 25 meters before the quality starts to fade.
Thaks for your advise. I already have 2.4ghz vtx and vrx. But this types of telemetry device are much expensive. But in this video, This transmitter much cheaper then other professional vtx. This analog vtx is for hobbies. Anyone can build there own tv/video transmitter.

Yes. The voltage limit 12 volt maximum.

You can replace the camera with any kind of analog video signal. This video transmitter circuit will transmitte your video signal on tv directly. Only analog video(AV) signal. Digital video signal does not work.

For av output from car rare view camera, you should have connect directly yellow(video) & black( GND ) cable to the AV port of TV receiver.

No. You Don't. Coz the rf circuit in the crt tv is a rf receiver circuit. You need transmitter circuit.

Its not a led tube. Just connect two wire on a Fluorescent tube. It's Act like an dipole antenna. For better result you should use professional antenna. Thanks

what channel you’ve use this transmitter on tv
If you connect an antenna on tv antenna port then you need to tune manually on any tv channel. And if you connect an antenna on AV port( yellow port) then just press AV button on your tv remote after power up your transmitter, it will be tune automatically on your tv

You can use similar NPN transistor like BC547,2N2222 etc on RF module. I think you mean that one which i solderd on a pitch of pcb. looks like a transistor. By the way that was not a transistor, that was a 3.3v voltage regulator ic.For more information, please check on the video description.

There is a hidden voltage regulator on power cable in every rear and front view camera. Real working voltage is 3.3v

What is the frequency of audio signal
Similar as Video signal's frequency. If you attache video and sound source on it. it will be transmit directly on tv with both audio and video signal like tv broadcast.

Increase the input voltage 3.7/4.2 volt to constant 5volt. Then try again. And use a telescopic antenna on tv jack or avr input tarminal. Yellow one is the video input on TV. If you connect an antenna on Avr terminal on your Tv. no need to tune tv channel. Just press the av button on your tv remote, You will get the video signal automatically.

No. Coz Webcam produce digital signal. You need analog signal for transmit.

@@DiyTechBd I have been an Electronics Technician for almost 30 years. I tried that many years ago. IT DOES NOT WORK. The only way that will work is to add a couple of stages amplifying the output.
Good to know you. For short range no need to amplify the rf signal. I can challenge you. It’s 100% work. You should try again according to this video. By the way I am also an Engineer ( Bachelor of science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering).
