    In case of the Fairline Phantom 40 with it's pretty deep v hull I prefer going into the wind than down wind..it rolls so much that it feels like it's gonna flip over if the waves are big enough..

    The more speed, the less overfalls! My Fexas designed 44 SF, with a 30 knot cruise speed, never met an overfall!!
