During my first internship, I was afraid to ask questions. My manager was pissed/disappointed because I didn't ask enough questions. You gotta learn to ask questions because if you don't and you wait until things fuck up badly, you will get fired.

I love genius brain and david so because I’m going through the same thing where I’d have “the mouth of satan but the body of Christ” syndrome haha. I’m still 21 and I go to church regularly. But everytime I’m hanging out with friends, some from church some that are not, I’ll always talk vulgar because I’ve carried on that mannerism from when I was in high school; those times when I was really not committed with my faith. Right now I do try to better myself by cutting off some of those bad habits. Keep it real David 🙏😤

LOOOL at the chipped tooth story. I chipped my tooth trying to skate like a little b when I was a preteen and my parents couldn't afford a crown for me. Nor did they know anything about them or that you need to remove the dead root and shave it down before putting a permanent crown on it. So for the next 6 years, I had a temporary crown on my front tooth. You can see the obvious part where my real tooth ended and the temp ones began. Adding on to that, my dead tooth was blue/black and every time I smiled, it was extremely obvious because it was my front tooth. Thus started my crippling anxiety of laughing and always making sure to cover my mouth when I did. Or when I eat. People would stare and most of them (being kids we were) would ask wtf happened to my tooth. Fast forward to late HS, I finally got it fixed after I complained and complained to my parents that there must be a better solution. At this point, they could afford it.
To this day, I still catch myself covering my mouth sometimes. Or I get anxious when I notice people's quick innocent glance at my teeth (even though I know they're not looking at it because it's extremely less noticeable now). So to your friend who chipped her tooth in a beautiful city jumping on the back of her loved one...and the fact that she got it fixed in A DAY....wow must be nice.

41:21 I knew a guy like that. Even worse is he would bullshit the answer and act like he knew more than you. He would even talk down to people in general. His answers wouldn't even make sense. It'd be something like:
"how does this coffee machine work?"
"well when you get coffee beans from Africa the machine has to work a certain way and the parts are all manufactured from China so you have to turn it this way so that's why you have to press that button"
    ".... What?"
I'm not exaggerating. I thought I was stupid because I couldn't understand anything he said or wrote. He also does meth, so we don't know if he's always been this way (he's also a covert narc) or if he did so much meth it fucked his brain up even more.

Interesting perspectives. The Ghanaian folks you talked to probably have a lot in common with your parents because of the 1st gen immigrant experience. Btw, that collectivist versus individualist perspective is spot on. US culture tends to be very based on the individual, for better or for worse. Ghanaians are more collectivist as well and I've always had more in common with other minority cultures that are collectivist. Also your accent sounds more like an Indian but it's all good.🤣 English is Ghana's national language, btw, just like the US.

I've been a fan of the influencer you mentioned in this video since like 2010 or something
(and also one of yours since your response video to Alexandra Wallace or whatever her name was)
I'm not here to bash or anything
I saw the video where she talked about how she chipped her tooth (and actually 4 teeth were damaged and had to fix I think?) and I feel like she wasn't trying to tell people how miserable her August went or something like that even though it kinda did come off that way?
and it was definitely a result of her being reckless and I think later on in some other videos she did mention that she was fortunate and privileged enough that she got to fix her tooth (teeth) immediately
coming from a poor family myself, I'm even struggling to make the ends meet as an adult rn so it made me feel like what she complained about was fucking hashtag first world problems but I also could understand where she came from... it just made feel some type of way.
I could be wrong but maybe people tend to or gradually forget how to be sympathetic to other people's situations when they are living comfortably themselves?

jenn im did explain in a video that the chipped tooth situation was kinda the straw that broke the camel’s back type of situation for her at that time. but i do get your pov as well.

Wow, you guys have different bullying experiences from my generation (millennials). When I was around 13 years old, I went to a junior high school where I didn't know anyone so I was the outsider/newbie with no friends. None of the bullying I received was "out of love" or had a balance of equal parts love to bullying. It was ALL negative emotions. The popular Asian group (my school was predominantly Mexican followed by Chinese/Vietnamese) would just tease me every day during P.E. class "You smell/you're chubby/you're gross/etc". Additionally, for a period of a few months, I liked this girl and asked my teacher to hand her flowers that my mom bought for me. After her brother found out ( he was part of the popular asian group), he started bullying me by dragging me into the bathroom and pinning me against a wall OR after the last class ended (we had the same 7th period class together), he'd drag me to his sister. He wouldn't let me go until I said "I love you, Florence (his sister's name". And he would always go in a crowd of 5-6 other guys so I couldn't run away. I looked at his eyes every time he'd do this and his eyes were malicious and full of hate. So, I think the mentality was basically that these people had a lot of personal issues at home and they were kids who only knew to cope with their situations by treating others badly. I don't think people really understand this but my generation has pretty mentally fucked up people. Its pretty frightening and I'm blessed that I grew up stronger as a result of my upbringing and I would never put others through the same bullshit I faced nor would I ever condone my kids doing such a thing (if they did, you can bet that I'd discipline them and make sure they understand that what they're doing is never good).
When I see bullies nowadays, I pity them because they're just sad individuals who are mentally incapable of dealing with their issues.
