- The RP968 was a real head turner at World Time Attack 2015, and we chat to Sammy Diasinos who was an integral part of the team producing the aero package.
Sammy speaks about how he got into the automotive industry, including how he started working for Formula 1 teams such as Caterham and Toyota.
Sammy talks about the important roll (CFD) Computational Fluid Dynamics has played in his career and the development of the RP968 aero package. Sammy also talks about measuring the effectiveness of the aero package using load transducers at each corner of the car.
Amazing questions and interview
Implementation of force transducers, thats quite trick. Racing is so much more than I anticipated. Awesome channel, thank you for sharing your dedication and knowledge about it all.
This channel deserves way more views
very good my brother
Thanks
instant subscription! fantastic interview
Great interview, very interesting career
What are the sensors that were used to measure load at the contact patch? I could not understand that bit but it sounds tricky to do, given that the tire sits on the contact patch. / confused
The term he said is "Force Transducer" but outside that, your guess is as good as mine as to how it works :P
They are measuring the load on the suspension then deducing the load at the contact patch I think.
lol cheeky .... so how much down force does this produce love it
Awesome
This channel is so awesome. Unlike those complete nonsense of kids with their dumb lambos. Thanks for not making me dumber.
You're welcome! Thank you for the kind words mate.
We've got some really awesome videos lined up from this years WTAC that we'll be releasing every Tuesday (NZST) so keep an eye out =) - Taz.
