    • @thelastkingpin
      @thelastkingpin 2 месяца назад

      As a spurs fan there's every likelihood you have no clue how to judge the metrics of success in football as you have barely experienced it.
      I have noticed there are tons of revisionism regarding his time there and I cannot understand why. No manager yet has performed better than he has since he left.
      He came when Tottenham was at the brink of dropping down to the relegation zone and pulled off a Europa League finish despite losing Harry Kane for large swaths of the season.
      The following season, the team started off with a bang and was topping the table. He took extra effort to even go train with Ndombele during COVID. Come January, he asked for reinforcement to consolidate and possibly pursue the league. What was signed was Joe Rodon whom no one knows where he is now.
      By the team he is sacked. Tottenham gets to the Caraboa final and are about 7th place merely 6 points away from top 4.
      The managers who came after him, not a single one has done better. Not one. Conte literally lamented about the status of the club and quality. Nuno was sacked and Ange would quite likely end up worse than the rest since the basic principles of defending is lost on him.
      Quite frankly a lot of Spurs fans have animosity towards him and that affects how is time at the club is viewed.

      @@yoshuareynaldo2295 It almost hilarious how you don't see the revisionism. The team was in pole position for the first half of the season. • @yoshuareynaldo2295
      @yoshuareynaldo2295 2 месяца назад

      @@thelastkingpin What revisionism? Spurs were never in 'pole position' at all if you look at the deep stats (xG and xP). In the end, based on those stats we were worse than Arteta's lockdown Arsenal. The reason Jose's Spurs play so good in the first half was because of Son and Kane's crazy finishing, not because of the tactics.

    • @thelastkingpin
      @thelastkingpin 2 месяца назад

      @@yoshuareynaldo2295 I will take it a step further that you are not revising history. You just don't know what you are talking about. That season Jose's team was one of the highest scoring teams in Europe and was the second team to reach 100 goals scored after Bayern. Did you really say Son and Kane crazy finishing is the reason why and not tactics 😂😂😂.
      So him basically turning Harry Kane into a 9.5; a position basically no one envisaged Kane for in life, wasn't a tactical switch. Son for the first time in entire career became a goal scorer and winning the golden boot wasn't as a result of a tactical switch that allowed him run off into the centre rather than on the wings.
      Problem is you probably were looking at the TV screen but nothing was actually coming through.
      The manager with whom every single striker he has played with has excelled does that with his team and it is suddenly a case of oh the players are scoring well.
      Anyways I should have known the moment I read something like deep stats like XP that I am dealing with someone who watches football from a spreadsheet

    We should also question Pep for treating Joe Hart, Yaya Toure, Ibrahimovic, Kalvin Phillips, Cancelo and Aguero the way he did by dropping them. Or Klopp for dropping Sakho (a captain btw), arguing with Mane and Salah on the field during games, not keeping Flanagan and Moreno (who were meant to be one for the future).
    My point is that there is no manager that has not had issues with players or “mishandled” them. It’s part of life and the game. Mourinho is always singled out because of his personality and imperfections. And many English people and journalists hate him.

      @@PanischyrosAnthropos fair enough, although I think your missing the argument from these people. It’s not about managers wanting to drop or sell players, but more about the manner in which they do so.

      My reply was more about Klopp, I’m not a Liverpool fan but I respect how klopp builds great relationships with players and is loved by them for not just being a good manger but for the man himself. He won his first CL in 2004. One year earlier, Carlo Ancelotti won his first with Milan (2003).
    He won his second CL in 2010. Those titles were sandwiched between two Pep CLs (2009 and 2011).
    Those two managers, Pep and Carlo, have won each of the last three CLs, and at least one has been in each of the last 4 finals (Pep reached the final in 2021 but didn't win).

    No matter what people say nowadays... MOURINHO is a great manager.
    He has his philosophy and how ge wants to play. He wants players that buy into his plan. And those players that do, grow ... While those that don't, are left behind.
    Mourinho was said that Man United players' mentality is weak and it shows till today.

    For me he’s number 1 because i like this style of grind to win like you don’t have to play beautiful all the time just play ugly and win results and i like that he has managed smaller teams and got them trophies and the teams that he have created Inter 2010 Chelsea 04-06 Real 11-12 Porto 03/04 and the players you have drogba essien sneijder milito ozil ricardo carvalho deco and manny more those players were mid until jose took them and made them superstars meanwhile pep can only work around superstars but he’s still number 1 if I’m unbiased

    Jose Mourinho started as a translator for Sir Bobby Robson at Porto and gradually moved up to Louis van Gaal's assistant coach at FC Barcelona. Mourinho returned to win all the major trophies at Porto, won three English Premier League titles with Chelsea, and built another all-winning team at Inter Milan. Mourinho coached at Real Madrid, Chelsea again, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and AS Roma. Now, he is at Fenerbahçe. The pragmatic Mourinho has proven himself at the top in club football. The last thing left to win is the World Cup. Hopefully, Mourinho will lead a national team to glory some day. Respect.

      @@Ananas-280 Earlier in his career, he won a lot, so he managed to move on without a lot of issues. Later, Real Madrid and onward, Mourinho was fired and forced out unceremoniously. Second stint at Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur were poor tenures compared to first Chelsea tenure, FC Porto, and Inter Milan. Winning at any price has its downsides.

Its always sad that awful people can get away with genuine awful actions, as long as they are confident & successful most people will not care or throw it under the rug because they like the personality.

    In my books, Jose Mourinho is the greatest manager of all time alongside Sir Alex. The big difference for me is the success with small teams and underdogs.
    Pep had a bigger impact on the sport and influences how football is played since 15 years, Jose never did that.
    I don't get the point that Jose did anything wrong to Dele Alli, he told him the honest truth and Dele was the one who didn't care about it. When someone like Jose Mourinho sits down with me and tells me how great I could become if I only would work harder and stop wasting my potential, I would go straight to the gym or the training pitch. It was Dele Allis decision, not Joses.

    One of his biggest "victims" not to be mentioned here is Kaká. Their relationship during Mou's Real Madrid days was awful, and even Kaká himself said that this (and his injuries) was the main problem for him there. Keep in mind that when Real Madrid bought Kaká, he had just been elected 3rd best in the world, and the best on the season prior. To this day, many Brazilians have this image that "Mourinho doesn't like Brazilian players" because of the harsh way he treated Kaká...

    Jose Mourinho is bigger than that 1B spender Manager
    He won a UCL with Porto
    Won back to back PL titles with a Chelsea team that haven’t won anything for years , won PL with a record that will never be broken (15 goals conceded)
    Won treble with Inter against Pep away from home played 80 minutes with 10 men
    Real Madrid : changed the mentality of the club completely ( those comebacks you have seen to this day is because of that mentality)
    Won Copa 2011 final against Barca
    Centurion Laliga in 2012 with more than 120 goals scored
    Chelsea: again won PL
    Man U : won two trophies in his first season , UEL has been their biggest achievement since 2013
    Spurs : a loser club that he reached with them to a final but they sacked him before the final
    As Roma : won conference leauge , reached to UEL final next season ofc an English ref fucked up the final
    Only Real Madrid players were the ones that you can’t say he was right
    The rest of them it turned out he was right about
    Dele Alli is a loser
    Pogba : drug user ended his career
