As an Englishman do I really need to point out if you allow political appointees to your critical courts what do you expect? The DC Court of appeals produced an iron clad decision in denying absolute Presidential immunity, therefore the only reason for the Supreme Court to hear this argument is to help Trump to delay and deny justice! Ridiculous!!!

Rachel hit the nail on the head regarding the cravenness of this Supreme Court. I used to look at the Court with awe and respect; not anymore. Now when they come out with a ruling I think of it as just a political opinion and toss it in the garbage can and take it out to the curb. They have been in a complete nose dive since "Citizens United" and I do hope that the ground is coming up real fast for them. It wouldn't be much of a loss.

In refusing to hold politicians accountable for their crimes, the department of "justice" is encouraging the corruption. Nurturing it, even. I feel for Chris Hayes feeling stupid or embarrassed over how he read the court. He's got a lot of good company. One of the many things that stuck me after the SCOTUS decision and all the timing around it was the looks on on the faces of so many newscasters and podcasters. Those looks reflected what I and I believe a large portion of my fellow citizens felt that day. I can't even put a name on what emotion those looks were conveying. It was too horrible!
