They did - I was there, the BBC cut out like 3 songs for this programme, they definitely played The Heinrich Maneuver too. I can't remember the other missing one.
Man, I saw Interpol live here in Brazil and the sound was kinda weak, but in this video it sounds perfect! They really should hire this sound engineer for the band and never let him go hahahahaha
Really? He's cool but kinda freaky looking, big googly eyes....I gaurentee if he wasn't famous and in a band you would not look at him on the street, you're under the effect of his fame and money :P
This band is the perfect combination of indie rock and some dark but elegant and perfectly executed (not emo) post punk. Paul's voice is wonderful, the whole band puts on a great performance. We are facing a mature band with great musicians who provide a great musical experience with beautiful lyrics and the voice that follows the melodies with emotion to capture the essence of the moment. All the songs are recorded in my heart.
Welcome to Post-Punk. lol I'm just joking. Really It just has that nice mix of indie alt sound and post punk vibes. Post punk is not emo, but pop-culture has brainwashed to stereotype it as such.
@IPA SOLÉ ya hablen en español hahaha, Interpol tiene más fans en México 🖤. Una pena para las personas que estuvieron ahí y no sonrieron esa emoción )':
I've been to this festival in Glasgow and the crowd is actually the nicest and they respect personal space - it is a cultural difference I guess, not a flaw.
For me, Interpol transcends music. They touch my feelings, my soul. They talk to me in many ways. Making me feel nostalgia, sadness, angst and excitement. I guess i'll never be into a band so much like i'm into these dudes. Thank you for turning on the bright lights for many words that i never had the ways to say or transcribe. Specialist and Song Seven are lacking on this setlist but i guess i have never seen interpol playing with so much soul like this. Thank you for doing what you do. Regards from Brazil.
I love the idea that kids see Interpol for the first time never heard some of these songs, and get to experience that for the first time. Their music is timeless, and very profound, and it f*cking rocks.
why is no one talking about Matt Helders Jamie Cook and Alex Turner from the Arctic Monkeys at 52:26, my two favorite bands enjoying each other's music
Playing to such a mainstream audience must have been difficult, fantastic set and great energy, buzzing for marauder, Roland was one of the best live songs I’ve ever heard!
mollieangel if it’s any consolation most of the crowd were there for Arctic monkeys, I had only heard of Interpol but not of there music but after hearing them live (particularly the rover) I’ve started to listen to them a lot now
I remember discovering them in high school, and I think that’s when my love of music truly formed. I’m 33 now and they still hit me in the feels every damn time.
When I first heard this band, I was 12 years old. I remember dreaming about how I wished to play on a stage with Interpol one day! They were one of the bands that inspired me to pick up music which ultimately became my life, also shaping my life in profound ways. I'm 27 now, and still love this band with all my heart, letting their sound take me on a journey back to before I was "Daddy" to 2 little girls (which Daddy, along with Mom, got to go to their 1st concert finally [at age 6 & 7] at Austin City Limits Festival last year, and my God I'm so proud of how much they loved every second of it! And how they much they love bands who use "real drums and guitars". Anyways, they LOVE Interpol along with Awolnation..I feel like I'm doing okay haha). Anyways, this band has been a staple in my life both in my musical influences, as well as areas that go much deeper in my head & heart. Thank you Interpol! And thank you everyone here watching with me for being Interpol fans! They need our love and support to keep that magic they possess, & I know that we'll always be there to give it. 😎😛🎟️🎫🎸🎤🎛️🎼
Im 37 now and still love them with all my heart. Listening actually breaks my heart.. brings back too many memories of when music and life was good! Fantastic to the next gen still appreciate them.. I introduced a bunch of 18 year old to them and they had never heard of them, they thought it sounded too depressing.. so I had lost all hope for the next gen. You sound like a great dad!
What a beautiful comment to come across! It makes the risk of scrolling down to the comment section worth it. Thanks for your story & for passing good music on to your kids. It's important for them to know of such awe & for all of you to have the experience of bonding over it. With the way people are today we need good music like this even more to save us. I can't wait to see them this fall opening for Morrissey!
I have a complete set of the Shephard Fairey Interpol prints from Antics. Signed and numbered and framed. Need to sell if interested (hard times). Reply here with email address if interested.
I really like to see the Interpol concerts on RUclips over and over again, even for the delicious images that the television operators give us by suddenly framing the fans. In this concert, during "Rest My Chemistry", I took some beautiful moments of this kind that I would share with you. The girl with colored hairs in 24,32 who ecstatically repeats the refrain; the girl in 25,18 who flies happily accompanying the refrain too. But above all the little girl with the bonnet in 24,51, who listens with closed eyes the song as if she were dreaming. Is not it moving? She almost seem to tell us: "the most beautiful place in the world is within me". And so I can say: how beautiful are the Interpol fans! There must be a reason! Best regards to everyone
Thank you Khmer Wolf. I do not know if you also noticed the girl in C'mer 11,36, with her tender and uncontainable joy. I had already mentioned her in my previous comment, that strangely no longer appears
This music is for the special Ones. I mean those who feel it. Symbiosis. Thank you, Universe for genius. Leif Erikson....Rosemary.....Marauder is my Album. Thank you guys for your inspiration. Thank you, for all these great shows thank you very much for your true music. Every record is an episode. thank you very much for so many hours of live acts that I was allowed to see and feel. Thank you for making my car trips an experience. Take you on a cruise ...Interpol, NYC thx
This set list is so good actually. The tracks from El Pintor really open up their set lists to build a narrative. All The Rage Back Home and Anywhere are so uncompromisingly good arena tracks. And it's really nice to hear C'mere so crisp and mature on the guitars and drums. I wish they'd re-record some tracks that have evolved a LOT past their studio recordings in live play. I think Interpol fans deserve it at least for PDA. A lot of drum tracks are insane live but that one is killer.
A good choice of their songs, almost like a best of collection. I hope to see Interpol at the Royal Albert Hall in November. I've loved this band for about 15 years. Some people don't get their style which is downbeat and not happy. They can be an acquired taste, but once you get them you just have to have all their albums like me. Interpol are the business.
I started listening to Interpol when I was practically a baby, since my father would always play their music at home or in the car. I remember not understanding English yet being enamored with each songs. My father isn’t someone I’m attached to today, he’s hurt me and moved far from us, but if there was one thing I’ve always appreciated about him was his music taste. In 2018 I stumbled across Interpol’s music again and it touched me in a way that I can’t even begin to describe. Their music is transcendent, every lyric and notes are perfections to my ears and they make me feel the most emotions I have in years. They are on another musical plane. Now being 18 and discovering my very own taste in music (which has nothing to do with theirs), I realize they will forever remain my number 1 artists and I will never get tired of all their songs. They’re actually the only band that I love every single song of, it’s insane. I’m glad to read these comments and see people who relate. I don’t even know what’s about them that draws me to their music like a moth around a lamp, I can’t relate to half of their lyrics (blame lack of life experience) yet they leave me shaken. Also pretty sure they gave me my love for bass. See you in Paris in July legends
On another side note, I’ve been enjoying Billie Eilish’ music as of late, especially her more passionate, rock songs. I would adore for her to sing one of their songs.
In Mexico we love interpol, here we receive them for what they are. We are the biggest and loyal fans they have. You should see the corona capital 2019 concert, we were all waiting for the end of the concert to see them and it was fucking great. The best show I have ever seen :)
why blame the crowd. this is music i listen to in peace. its not like its hard rock where u go wild. i like not going crazy in the crowd and take up this nice music without getting pushed and stuff! love from the netherlands guys. u are amazing and helped me through a lot of though times!
Its rarely mentioned that Brad Truax is a legit bassist and since Carlos D isnt coming back..well mayeb bring him in. Damn they sound good, can't wait to see them in October.
Does anybody else think Success the highlight here? They overlook the Interpol album but I love it! Some banging tunes and wish they played more from it
This bandś whole aesthetic is of a person who rides the Long Island Railroad endlessly, forever oscillating between Banana Republic and Gap stores, where a new salesgirl that is hooked on something waits for each band member patiently, at each end of the line. Banana republic > Gap, Gap < Banana Republic... This is a brilliant comment, by the way. Hubris is always at the end of my line... This is why I like Interpol. I have to go shopping now.
que buena banda ... me hace recordar 2007 tiempos aquellos , donde quedo toda esa musica que yo escuchaba ??? ahora solo grupos basura ¡¡¡¡¡ GRANDE INTERPOL
Thank you so much guys it's palpable what needed time to chill out and get a balance however I think I might be coming to see you guys very shortly if you're still touring perhaps it's a Happy Mondays pills thrills and belly aches. only kidding
Probs one of the best and most iconic performances of them in recent history - the mix is perfect (great sound blasted out), the band are really into it, and the setlist is a mix of the lesser known bangers as well as the popular songs, just bliss... And c'mon, Length of Love and then that killer performance of Roland after - just epic
@@ukhouseRJ yeah this is similar to what other comments above were saying - interpol works best in the dark, and this song is maybe the best example of that. it's actually pretty groovy but it's so dour you need to be in a dimly lit room to appreciate it. great performance tho love that track
Yes, Paul's voice is unusually ON-key and smooth here. His voice was not the best these last few years. Even some of the 2019 performances sound off. Maybe he kicked up a notch for this important festival. ???
Los años pasan uno ya no vuelve a tener la voz cuando era joven y es parte de la vida y uno tiene que acostumbrarse . Para mi sigue teniendo buena voz.
Still today I am surprised by the tecnical perfection with which they perform the pieces. Moreover, to date, I had not yet ever heard a beautiful version of "Lenght of Love" like this. They are three giants and Sam, in particular, deserves a separate speech: the more time passes and the more he becomes good! Who knows what he can do when he gets big?!

They did - I was there, the BBC cut out like 3 songs for this programme, they definitely played The Heinrich Maneuver too. I can't remember the other missing one.
was anything besides the rover a new song?
Whoever did the sound for this show is a genius. This is how Interpol should sound live EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!
The sound for these broadcasts comes right off the board. There is a very good chance it sounded like crap in the open air.
Sure, but what a performance. He hits nearly every note. You're hard-pressed to find that at many live shows, regardless of act.
I was there can confirm it sounded just as good haha
Man, I saw Interpol live here in Brazil and the sound was kinda weak, but in this video it sounds perfect! They really should hire this sound engineer for the band and never let him go hahahahaha
Look up their KCRW studio performance from the first album. Your welcome...
Not even jail is a masterpiece
Paul Banks...The Most Handsome man all over the world.

It's my favorite.
to be honest this probably my favorite their darkest album
@@ukhouseRJ yeah this is similar to what other comments above were saying - interpol works best in the dark, and this song is maybe the best example of that. it's actually pretty groovy but it's so dour you need to be in a dimly lit room to appreciate it. great performance tho love that track
Interpol is such a great band.. I can't understand why in France so few people knows about them...
Paul's vocals are so much better
Yes, Paul's voice is unusually ON-key and smooth here. His voice was not the best these last few years. Even some of the 2019 performances sound off. Maybe he kicked up a notch for this important festival. ???
Stopped smoking?
@Nicholas Baker thats his style. He is in top form here.
Who's the singer here?
Los años pasan uno ya no vuelve a tener la voz cuando era joven y es parte de la vida y uno tiene que acostumbrarse . Para mi sigue teniendo buena voz.
Probably the best live performance of Roland ever
Paul's vocals is great at this show.
I was right in middle of the crowd for this 27 work mates went for work holiday fucking amazing
Gracias has alegrado mi día !!!! ya falta poco para que estén en México
Yo también quiero alegrar tu día 💙
1 meeeeeees solamente
31,42 - this version of "Length of Love" is something incredible!
Interpol
It's awesome how Interpol plays a 16yo song (like Obstacle 1) keeping its same style, not trying to rearrange it.
What a band, what a gig.
ALSO LOVE GUYS WHO WERE WITH CAMERAS AND FILMED ALL THESE, you are great
Still today I am surprised by the tecnical perfection with which they perform the pieces. Moreover, to date, I had not yet ever heard a beautiful version of "Lenght of Love" like this. They are three giants and Sam, in particular, deserves a separate speech: the more time passes and the more he becomes good! Who knows what he can do when he gets big?!
