it's sad how these days "native" is now almost the opposite of what it used to imply. it went from direct machine code instead of something interpreted like bytecode, to layers of abstractions just to treat everything like a web browser.
"Desktop PHP" or something like that would've have been a good name. Right now it's PHP outside of the browser, but definitely not native. Makes some people averse to an otherwise perfectly reasonable project.
