Looks great and sounds great too. Used to have a powerpack powered by a 6v-92 and that screamin detroit sound is something that you can't help but love. These engines where built to be ran wide open as much as possible. Few desiel engines are as tough as a well built Detroit 2 stroke.

My childhood listening to these on our buses. Twenty-two years old, the lasting image of a true Detroit that I can still foam over today is the 50, 50 EGR, 50G, 60, 60G, and 60 EGR especially the combo with an Allison retarder. I'm rambling-on about the past. Cummins is shadowing bus industry now.

92's are great motors. I respect the professionalism in making it look so clean, though it went into a mining machine and looks don't matter. If anyone takes that much effort into making it that clean on the outside, was very thorough on the inside. Seen alot of "pros" from Detroit come and adjust the racks on these and made it worse. Cats and Detroits can wetstack, nothing wrong with them, but they were not designed to be run unloaded.

The sound should have been patented. The scream of the turbo charger is the icing on the cake.
I worked on the biggest engines ever produced for aircraft, the Pratt and Whitney R-4360 28 cylinder radial engine, capable of three thousand shaft horse power all day long. The first thing pounded into my head is you never 'horse' the engine by cranking the throttle way up and then letting the RPMs fall off then immediately crank the RPMs up again. Really big stressed engines need to move a lot of heavy parts and are best eased into their power envelope as opposed to constantly spurring them into ever higher RPMs especially under no load conditions. Jus sayin.

Needs to be run in a dyno before shipment. Not even local Detroit dealers have them. I worked for Cummins, and we had a chassis dyno, but no engine dyno. Impossible to dyno a Cummins K50 after an overhaul, if a 3500hp engine dyno doesnt exist in the shop!

Then went out to the w/shop, factory builds, testing, installs, and field service of mainly gen-sets but the occasional industrial drive, pump or marine application. Worked with some great guys around the branches, good days. 'GM 2strokes, still the most efficient engine ever developed for converting fuel into noise'. Cheers Ray G.
