Stephen Arroyo's clinical classic "Astrology Karma and Transformation" is one of my favorites among Jungian psychology books about Astrology. He paints the perfect picture of the Outer or "Trans-Saturnian" planets (Uranus, Neptune,and Pluto) given the time the book came out, and I would like to share some of the book's knowledge with you.
This chapter in particular is concerned with Pluto in its House, and how it can be interpreted.

My mentor, James Hillman, known for his work in Archetypal Psychology, had Pluto in the 12th house in Cancer. The following story can be read in greater detail in his biography, The Life and Ideas of James Hillman by Dick Russell, and it perfectly illustrates your point regarding the tension between spiritual transcendence and meditation versus 6th house practical service. As a young adult, Hillman moved to Kashmir to work on a novel. It was definitely not going well, and as part of his effort to get unstuck, he visited a guru, who sent him on a vision quest, literally up the Himalayas, where he tried to have a "big" (spiritual, transpersonal) dream. Instead, he had a mundane, personalistic, humiliating nightmare, which he had never shared publicly until the biography was published. The nightmare sent him to Zurich and the Jung Institute to enter psychotherapy as a patient. He showed talent and as was the practice, he was invited to join the institute as an analyst in training, and he later became the director of studies. He is known for a wide range of ideas, but one of the most important was the distinction between soul and spirit, outlined in the essay, Peaks and Vales. I highly recommend the bio and this essay as an illustration of 12th house issues in the context of "failure," soul work, and service. Great video here, much appreciated! (I have Pluto conjunct Uranus in the 12th house, and I find your comments extremely accurate and insightful.)
Thank you for the most spiritual expression of this heavy placement. It does take a lot of energy to finally own our own power as ours, as it is in service to the collective. I am a healer and I get healed as I heal as well. Even when they call me flower child, I love to watch the black flowers I grow.
Scorpio 12th house w/Scorpio rising and Pluto/chiron 1st: There has been many times where I’ve skipped school to just go hike a mountain and sit there all day instead lol. It also comes very easily to open up peoples minds about their problems/situations if they ask for help, and it makes me feel so good to help them as well :)
Man this was 🔥. Great insights and all true. It has been tough finding the balance between the material and spiritual realms. It’s a twisted sort of fate because we absorb all the dark energies of those around us that people are neglecting to look at. But if we don’t find a way to purge it then we carry that in our aura and are bogged down. Selfless service is key! Forgetting about myself shouldn’t be TOO hard as I’ve never really felt like I existed anyway lol. Forgiveness is super important here as well.
I’m going thru this transit right now. Aquarius rising and sun 🌞, Saturn just left my 12 with Pluto and in the first. It’s been completely hard, exhausting and emotionally depleted. Thanks so much for your clarity concerning 12h Pluto. Really resonated with your perspective. As a 12h Pluto it’s tough to dissolve the appropriate parts of the ego. I’m in my bliss being creative I find I can express Pluto 12h via the subconscious when the drawing tool meets the material. It’s interesting to view the results of that connection as the completed artefact. It’s a reflective activity that dredges the sludge at the bottom of the subconscious. Great video for this heavy placement. I looked at my Pluto again with new eyes and it’s like a spiderweb, tying together elements of my chart and affecting me from my core. For starters, I’m a Libra Pluto conjunct Rahu (12H) with Scorpio rising and Jupiter/Venus/Mars 8th house in Gemini. Pluto is trine my mars and sextile my moon/Neptune. Yes Pluto can be you want to be away from the masses but yet depending on the rest of their chart to communicate with others. Interested in hidden subjects. Good placement for those that want to take up psychology. I have Pluto trine and sextiles which helps.

Selfless service is my happy place, although sometimes it feels more like I’m overcoming some major psychological feat in order to serve...especially when it involves public speaking (leo sun in the 10th with mercury). I love how u explain well about how does Jupiter in Pisces feels like . By the way, I'm a Sag Rising(Western) with Moon in 1H . 25 degree Pluto in 12H . Sun,Mercury, Uranus and Neptune(Cap Stellium) all were sextile with my Pluto. Mars(8H in Rx) Sesqui Pluto and Saturn Square Pluto.

Ok, this is so much how I feel, I am sure that I did live in an ashram in past lives, I have brought that behavior to this life, but as you've said, this time have to do it differently, have to be in the real world. Maybe its harder since my Pluto conjuncts Saturn and sits on the ascendant. Mercury in 12th as well. When I was a kid I think I was better in the outer world, had a mission, now I am constantly trying to get on the right track, not to have a meltdown. I feel what i do in the real world is meaningless unless i do smth really big for the unprivileged. I feel good when i try to help people, like i can strongly influence them, especially if the do not know that, if i am under the radar and in the backstage. ;And of course connection with the One and spiritual work to purify myself. The Ernst Wilhelm approach since to resonate but I still more into the western practice of astrology. Listen. Neville Goddard manifested into my life about 8 yrs ago. It seems to me that the majority of the masses who come across Neville Goddard and his teachings and what he describes the truth of this all actually is. It seems that They walk away feeling empowered and liberated.
They apply the techniques that he taught and I've seen people who have found what works for them as far as utilizing imagination, creating the reality that they want here in this lifetime. I felt a little bit more open-minded and welcoming when it came to the fact that imagination IS the only reality. As Neville Goddard teaches.
Most things in this earthly experience now all make sense to me now. . . and I cannot help but to accept the truth of what this all really is. I've even tried to run from it after totally finding out what the whole truth is because it's extremely cryptic and too real to me. Like a foreigner in a new land experiencing the devastations that come with it. It feels extremely cryptic to me and I have built even more of a hate and rage towards 'God' essentially. After finding out what God's plan really is. I feel even more of a separation and devastation.
Aka Jacob wrestled. For Anyone who reads this, all of this needs to be separated from religion and its grips. I'm explaining this all from a non religious standpoint. It hurts me so bad beyond what I can express here, Beyond Michael Myers coming after Jamie Lee Curtis for all of those years types of devastation.
To know, that it never was about me or any of my past incarnations, The Vessel, the vehicle used.. The awareness of being which is God, never cared about me as the Avatar it is operating through, lifetimes after lifetimes after lifetimes. Like Neville explains which is so horrific but so fucking true and I can't deny it. Man forgets but nature doesn't. No one ever really cared. Because the whole world, apparently my whole world is my reflection. And it's all me. Therefore I have no one but everything at the same time and it's so emotionally devastating to me.
I've gotten ahold of more lectures of his during these 8 years, that are not readily available or easily available to the public. ( And I have lost them all and I can't get them back which provokes the rage and anger inside of me even more )
Because I can't help but keep going back to it even though it is keeping me stuck. I can't even really sit here and blame the lectures in the text that I have read, because apparently it's all me. I am the cause and the solution.
To know that I don't in fact have a choice no matter what, even though coaches on RUclips advocating for the law of assumption keep telling you that you do and that they have proof because they've changed their lives and they have success stories from people that have. . . . . God is playing all the parts. Has never once again explains. And this is true. If you really observe it and truly pay attention to what he is saying, this is so fucking true.
Once again, that this was never about me, this is about God and IT living IT'S Adventures, as horrific and Blissful as they are, even though there is no such thing as that type of black-and-white thinking. It's the meaning that the Observer through the experience as a human being that is assigning to the observations, lifetime after lifetime. . . . ., it was never about me as the character in the first place. . .
. That God's plan truly is to play out scripture, through the different avatars AKA human me(s) and previous me(s) of all types. To know that there is only one law, the law of assumption (at least here on the Earth plane), and that everyone and everything is you, your beliefs, your view of the world, dominant assumptions, (it's all the same thing) Pushed out at every given moment and reflected back to you) is NOT comforting at all for me... .
This has not empowered me. I feel like all I can do is sit in the fetal position and essentially rot away. I can't express to you how I don't feel like I belong here. Neville mentions that creation is already finished. If that is the case, why can't I feel what it is that I am longing for? How do I keep this feeling of, from what Florence scovel Shinn explains as, "good Mercy shall follow me all of the days of my life". . . ?
. I assume what I am longing for is to go back home to the Creator. AKA God. Which is apparently inside of me, animating me. The spark behind the eyes.. And Neville talks about your home is your dwelling place.
And I'm going to tell you straight up, I can't even describe the horrific dwelling place that I keep returning to. My home has gotten that much worse as I have aged. And I can't stop returning there. It's all I know. It's all I'm familiar with.
To know that I am not separate than anything. It's unbearable. To know that no type of traditional therapy or behavioral therapy or cognitive therapy or any types of therapy can help me. Makes me feel trapped even more. This is not speculation, rather years of experience.
Neville refers to this 3rd dementional world as the land of Caesar. And to leave it alone and to go within, AKA like it says in the Bible, which he explains is your own autobiography. He explains to leave Caesar alone and let the dead bury the dead.
Even taking a break from Neville and his lectures, I cannot run from this truth.
Can you be a sagitarious rising with this placement?
You can be any placement! Every rising has a 12th house. It is likely that your Pluto is in Scorpio or Sagittarius, if Sagittarius is your rising sign.

Interesting. Being living with the not precise time of my birth but with the one approximated which makes me Scorpio rising with Pluto in Scorpio in the 12th. If I was born 15' minutes later Pluto house turns into 11th so today I watched both to feel my way in. Not sure if I overidentified with the Pluto in the 12th or if I'm a gaslighted 11th now. If birth time is so significant to such details, and one doesn't have the exact details how would you recommend people exploring their charts or even verifying their birth time?
Often it helps to observe the whole sign system, as that's what the vedic people used.
If you are scorpio rising and pluto is in Scorpio, i'd sooner have you listen to Pluto in the 1st house and see how that fits.
Most people will relate with the 12th house energy bc it represents a dynamic which, in a way, we all live with.
If you are a sagittarius rising with pluto in scorpio, i would call ypu pluto in the 12th.
My Pluto falls in the twelfth house 7 degrees away from rising in the same sign using western astrology!
By the rule of vedic astrology using tropical zodiac it falls in first first house.
Is your interpretation based on vedic or western rules?
Well, its for however you define the 1st house. As a Tropical Vedic Asteologer, I personally use the Vedic astrology method, considering the sign where the 1st cusp falls to be the 1st house no matter what.

If pluto is in Sagittarius with the rising sign cusp, i'd consider looking up pluto in the 1st house.
I would do Pluto in Sagittarius if that's the sign your pluto is in; particularly for you, since Pluto is in the sign holding your 1st house cusp (if i read that correctly). Themes related to sagittarius and Jupiter are important to unlocking your Pluto in this incarnation.

It feels so wrong and unjust. And I just don't know what to do with myself. I'm not in the financial position to be going out and buying anything to help me get into the 'state'. . . Neville talks about the state a lot. Changing your state. And everything else changes with it automatically. AKA apparently changing your mind AKA apparently changing your story. I can't change the fucking stories. I can't change the fucking history. If I am living through the human being experience, even after all of the success stories that he has released to the public. Neville talks about how there's nothing to change but concept of self. I just don't know what to do with myself. It doesn't feel like any help out here truly resonates with me. When I ask myself the basic question of what do I want right now? It always ends up in answers of 'I don't fucking knooooooooooooooooow!' ' If I'm not fucking specific enough then I'm going to be handed MORE of the most tragic and horrific events and things to make me knooooooooooooow!'
Because I can't describe what I want. It's a feeling obviously. It doesn't exist here on this Earthly plane. And yet I am here once the fuck again. This is unfair and I hate God. I am so fucking angry.
I just want to be free and I want to go back home just like I've been requesting since I was 5. But yet I keep being told that I am already home. To tell the lie that my family members before me didn't suffer and that they didn't go through the things that they went through before I physically incarnated here again, it's just something that I can't keep repeating.
It invokes that rage. I can't keep getting arrested and in trouble for how I feel. So therefore I feel like I have no choice but to again, wither the fuck away in a corner somewhere. I don't understand how people are empowered by the truth.
And I cannot hide from it. When I apply a technique that I learned, basically the ladder technique, not Neville Goddard's ladder technique when he first started originally using that to lure people in.
I'm talking about essentially trying to ask the question ' why or what' which will narrow you down to the basic one or small cluster of dominant assumptions that have had a ripple effect in your life . This exercise always has me end up fucking screaming and wailing and still not getting to the root cause of why anything. I get stuck. Neville clearly states that imagination AKA awareness of being AKA God is the only reality. And to go inside The Potter's House and to mold it as your own.
Essentially to revise. Like it describes, not verbatim, but like it describes in that book -the Bible- about you and the great drama of you unfolding through the different phases through the human being experience.
He clearly states multiple times that man forgets but nature doesn't. I didn't naturally give birth, I had a C-section, but either way, I bore a child into this world. I do not know that child and even if and when I get the opportunity to meet him again and to know him. I do not have a clue as far as how to tell him how to navigate this world except to point him to Neville. And if he ever goes through the psychological drama that I have went through which has caused emotional turmoil and anger and rage and utter fear and pain and everything that falls into the state of emotional turmoil. I will fail him.
Because I don't even know how to get through this. All of the cryptic phrases Circle through my head all day and all night. Let the dead bury the dead.All is well. Your faith is your fortune. Neville teaches revision. And he even claims if he could start all over again that that's what he would have ultimately taught and stressed over and over again. To revise. Revise a scene. Revise what you heard. Revise what you touched. Revise how it went. Etc. The four gates. The inner senses. . .
I feel so emotionally bonded to the things that have occurred. To the experiences that I've had. I have never experienced the total opposite in the most ideal way. I cannot get help through anything traditional because that type of help does not help me. Faster EFT tapping, meditation, breathing exercises, any type of grounding work and emotional release work just invokes the rage inside of me that much more.
I abuse the fuck out of myself in many different ways.. AKA Jacob wrestled with his angel. . . I've literally been arrested on multiple occasions for trying to ground myself. Because I am too loud. It gets too violent. It's too destructive. I don't know how to navigate the city that I grew up in. It's just embarrassing and frustrating and so confusing. A life coach on here, or that's what she calls herself, claims that the reason why I and others are stuck in this hell Loop is because of the stories that we keep saying out loud. The technique to paste a Band-Aid over the intense emotional aspect of things, in the forms of questions, and to repeat them over and over and over until it feels natural. Just like we all have been doing naturally all of our Lives anyways. Except we've been asking the wrong questions apparently and getting the hellacious results based on the commands formed into questions that we've been asking. Because apparently the sick twist in this is that it's always yes unless you want it to be a no.
Neville referred to, from the Bible, 70x 7. Which again, Neville explains that that book, your book about you, was never meant to be interpreted from a literal standpoint. 70 * 7 is repetition . If you break it down it's 14. Break it down further its 5. In a nutshell it's changes.
It is all symbology and metaphorical explanation as he explains about the great drama of you going through the phases through the human being experience here on this fuck ass place called Earth.
I've tried reading many other authors to drown out the truth of all of this. A Course in Miracles, Etc, I can't hide from the actual fucking truth and the evidence of all of this. So from an astrological standpoint, the advice over and over when your moon is in Gemini is to feel your feelings instead of talking about them and analyzing them.
I've already explained what happens when I feel these feelings. I have no choice but to be fucking trapped .
