Ahha...Another revelation...the very first TV commercial for Dove, introducing the world to the soap with one-quarter cleansing cream (cream being poured into the soap), and a beautiful blonde model demonstrating how Dove works on your skin versus the drying effects of regular soap, as well as her bathing like a dream in her tub. Classic ad from 1957. Love it and the Model!!!
I fell for the hype of Dove bar soap when it first came out when I was a little girl and had my mom buy a bar for me once. I used it and it dried my skin out. My grandma always bought it and as it was the only soap available when we stayed with her, had to use it even though it dried my skin out. Back in the 70's when I was a greasy skinned preteen and teen, Dove dried my skin out. Whenever I would go back and try it, thinking it changed, the only thing that changed was the huge size of the bars and little by little the amount size of the bars. Still dries my skin out. My daughter uses the unscented Dove bodywash on her toddler because he's got exczema and sensitive skin that breaks out with everything, and I always ask her if it doesn't dry his skin out and she says no. I wish it didn't dry my skin out. I love the smell of it.

Ladies checkout the Camay soap commercials there are at least 1000 of them....we all know Camay was the first luxury bath soap for women (along with Lux) l use Three Camay, Dove and Irish Spring. You can still buy Camay online or some large brand supermarkets.
Yes! My car's previous owner smoked. A bar of Dove soap really got the smell and residue out of the leather seats. Never tried it on zippers, candle wax or crayon works on those.
Dove has been around for 55 years (and was also a dishwashing liquid); Lever Brothers' other popular soaps at that time- "Lux" and "Lifebuoy"- are no longer available in the United States...
Dove really was the greatest skin care discovery.
Wasn't for me. Still to this day, decades later, if I used it, it would dry my skin out.

It has moisturizing by cream so that is a mystery but I have heard of that in some people
