Imo Republic City was already a pretty clear indication that the four nations were going to slowly disappear over time. It just makes sense to me that the best way to permanently unify and bring balance to the nations would be to make them one, but who knows I could be wrong.
If I had my way, heres how the new avatar after korras story would go: Korraa has passed, the new avatar grows up in a world where technology is everywhere and nobody element bends much beyond maybe basic bending because they are spoiled by technology doing it all for them. Because of this, we have an avatar that cant really bend and doesnt see the need to. Hes more of a figure head or a celebrity than anything else. Then Something world shattering happens and the avatar and his group of misfit friends he finds have to travel the world to find old masters who still practice advanced bending to teach him how to become a true avatar and rise to meet the threat. Obviously would still need some work but I think its a solid outline for a heros journey and follows the in world technological progression
I have a theory that Avatar's twin sister, Nisha, could be Kuvira's reincarnation. Karmically, they would be linked in the next life because of this massive spiritual energy event that was the creation of a new spiritual portal. But Nisha would have part of Raava's spirit. Just like the Spirit of the Moon gave part of his spirit to Yue. This only happens until Nisha's death. Because it is not an eternal bond.
Its just sad to think that everything Aang and Korra worked to achieve is kinda destroyed, Aang built republic City and as a result united all the people of the 4 nations, with Korra uniting the Spirits with humans. Turns out that the twin Avatars after Aang and Korra will have the Spirits of Raava and Vatuu, with one being the Light Avatar and the other being Dark. I am actually really looking forward to this, its possible that this can be an opportunity for Raava and Vatuu to work together as a Yin and Yang brining true balance to the world.
Did you get this somewhere or is it a fan theory, either way I would love this so much. I want to see how Vatuu strengthens the "dark" avatars and how it might shape the ones chosen.
Indeed. Its not the same as oriental balance despite buddist inspiration. The only exception was the Ja’di and Luke’s order in the books, but that was a small deviation despite accepted as canon before Disney.
@robertjordan7280 Well the Buddhist idea of balance is also misunderstood! Its the same thing. After 6 books all deem evil as evil! The goodness is the balance and out of balance is sufferring!
I'm on board we have seen the 4 nations a billion times now. I'm excited for something new. I'm sure they will have a ton of projects with the 4 nations still intact. Plus it's more Avatar. You will never see me complain about more Avatar. I want to see how they pull it off.
Maybe the very concept of four separate Nations became more obsolete as technological advancements went on. Things like slavery, social segregation, child marriages, bloodletting, etc in (irl) human history should stay there.
I don't like them destroying the four nations it sort of destroys everything aang and zuko built. Also it sort of makes any stories set I the pre haven era redundant. Why care if it is all going to be destroyed. Their are no stakes if it all just blows up I the end.
I'm actually perfectly fine with the 4 nations being erased. In the lore, they're actually more of a recent thing, only having existed as 4 separate nations about 4000 years ago. That means there was a 6000 year period where there were no 4 nations at all, and I have always been interested in seeing a story about an Avatar who grew up in a world where they don't have any sort of "4 nations" concept

Big agree.
Like in a way, merging the material and spirit world might be a bigger swing than just dissolving the nations.
I’m having fingers crossed that everything turns out great 🤞🏾

Nah that sounds absolutely amazing. I'm on board.

We'll have to wait and see.
So the leaks are kinda true then
I’m not jacking up, bro korra was one thing but this just no
That Anakin argument is only mentioned by people that don't understand Starwars! Light IS the harmony and balance! The Dark is the chaos and turmoil!

I have a feeling this show might not happen but if it does I also have a feeling it will be terrible
this is why i stick with the og cartoon
Thr four nations are a core part of the series and its identity. To completely do away with them would be pretty stupid.
