yeah, i like alot of the actors, the clips of the actors out of character are genuinely so much better then the actual show and gives way more "team avatar" vibes then is portrayed in the show

Yeah its impossible to keep the 12/13 yr old kid playing aang from hitting puberty and keeping him from looking like a young adult all in the span of the 1 year adventure the original show had. But the time season 3 airs the kid will probably be like 17

Because the showrunners had to make sure Katara shined as the only water-bending master, so she could free women from the tyranny of healing! This is why I am dreadfully afraid Toph won't be a character trying to discover independence, but a classic modern girlboss.

Hey look on the bright side. We have never seen a live action Toph before, so TECHNICALLY it will be the BEST live action adaptation of Toph because there will be nothing to compare it to. This could either be really good or Really Bad but I'm holding out hope.

I just hope they don't gloss over Aang's earth bending training, considering it was the hardest element for him to learn. Water came a lot easier to him so I can see why the directors didn't see it as necessary and focused on Katara and her mastery of it to, probably, do a time skip and teach Aang during Book 2/S2.

My current concern with this series is that Gordon is growing fast. The discrepancy between the Aang we see in season 1 and the gordon doing the promotional tour is very significant. By the time season 3 is done, His voice might have drop so much and no longer a child. They should really do it fast fast fast.

they're aware of that issue, that's why they changed sozin's comet. They would not be able to shoot all three seasons without the actors growing up since it takes time. On the cartoon, the whole story happened in just a year or so.

my prediction is this. they started working on it around 2022-2023, and they released it 2024. from what we know of the second season is coming out this year, and the cast is all grown up. it is impossible to keep the actors age, so they probably did a time skip, which means sozin comet is way later in the series. so if sozins comet is later, he doesnt need to learn waterbending just yet. this season was also focusing on the avatar state, so there might be 4 seasons. book 1 avatar state, book 2 water, book 3: earth, and book 4 fire. they probably added a extra book to make it balanced with the original because they heavily summarized the first book.

@@mudrsaThere was definitely no quarantine and had definitely finished choosing the actors. The actors were chosen very carefully and let me tell you, the selection is fantastic. Don't even say it was low quality. The bendings were shown sooo well. It looked sooo cool. Live actions are not always the exact same if you have realized. There will be changes send improvs. But they can be there only if the OG writers approve of it and they did.

I mean, the season ended with Katara saying she'll train him. So I'm pretty sure he's just gonna be able to waterbend (at least to a basic level) by the time season 2 starts.
Honestly I have no problem with this. Yeah it's a little silly that he's not even trying but like you said he's going through a lot and his trauma is a lot more obvious in the Netflix version, but of course he'll learn it eventually.

I just wish, studios would start making up their own stuff instead of taking established brands to milk and adapting them for a mainstream audience. So many things that made the originals good are completely changed or left out, leaving a hollow shell with a name to sell. People still watch it, so everytime a remake succeeds, the next remake is more likely to happen. The new audience doesn't care about the soul of the original, because they don't know it. They are in awe of the production quality and the basic "story". Meanwhile, old fans stop watching or just do it to make fun of the silly changes or out of sheer masochism. I can't watch Avatar, because what I've seen in clips is too far from what made the anime special for me.

I think the live action show is not going to be able to develop it's characters very well.. they've made the characters shells of themselves and the biggest examples of this are Katara not being hot headed and Aang not running away from the southern air temple but going out to clear his head and accidentally falling into the ocean rather than him actually running away. The more I think about the show, the more disappointed I am with it because of things like the pacing being so off. The Zuko/Iroh relationship is the only thing they did really well story-wise.

I honestly think that the Netflix version want to put more feminism emphasis rather than give Aang the primary role even I enjoyed the show for what it is but do not expect that every adaptation is gonna be exactly like the animation in my opinion they did a great job with cowboy bib bob. But a lot people did not like it ..

Earth was the hardest element for him to learn. Water came a lot easier to him, one of the key points of being a water bender is being able to find the flow, very similar to an air bender, plus aang is very sympathetic. Considering he was launched 100 years into the future, I say he dealt with change very well
