Kyoto’s Completely Private Capsule Hotel 🛏 THE POCKET HOTEL KYOTO SHIJOKARASUMA

- I stayed at the Pocket Hotel in Shijo-Karasuma, Kyoto.
It is located in the heart of Kyoto, right next to Nishiki Market and within walking distance to Kiyomizu-dera Temple and other tourist attractions.
The rooms are completely private, plenty of space to sleep, and very clean.
And the price is inexpensive, so I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is going to stay here for a few nights for sightseeing.
Prices are at time of shooting.

I'm from America and I'm impressed with all this stuff. Very cool. We don't have all that stuff where I live anyway.
10:20, that restaurant was playing some good music 😎
Amazing how clean every is ….. just shows how respectful people are and how much pride they have
I'd love to visit a place like this in the US....LOL
I'm just fascinated by how quiet this big city is O_O Like out in the street, pedestrians and traffic, but so quiet
Kyoto is a medium size city at best. Per square KM, the population density is significantly lower than any other cities. Places like Hanover, Bratislava or Makassar have significantly higher density than Kyoto.
Hence why it feels much more quite in the video. By Asian standard, it's a small city.
I’ve watched quite a few of these type of videos in Japan and have thought the same thing - amazing and so peaceful!
@@nntflow7058 Compared to where I live it is extremely quiet, I don't even live in a city.
@@DjSinxix Might be the pandemic as well. When I went there in Fall 2019. The city was busy and loud. Tourist does make a big difference.
And I explore the city, not just the touristy area. And it still not that quite. Especially during daytime.
Lack of a specific demographic will do that for a city. 🤔
Your videos make me remember Japan fondly. I have never been to Kyoto only Tokyo and Kamakura. I feel peaceful watching your videos.
All of these hidden and inexpensive places to see and stay. I love your videos.
I love your videos! Keep ‘em coming!
Everything is so clean and spotless but the food presentation in the markets is just astounding in its beauty. Rather than piles of food, it's dainty, appealing and appetising 8:23. Wonderful video 😊
Your videos make me wanna travel to Japan🥰.
The people shown in this video seem to be so appreciative of everything they are offered. What a pleasure to see that.
I love your videos, thank you
I was going to say that there was no way I would stay there. Then I saw the price! Wow! Excellent deal.
I stayed there more than 5 years ago, it used to cost double/triple. I guess COVID changed everything. It's amazing how well they maintained it's cleanliness. I wasn't super excited in the beginning because I knew I booked a capsule hotel (also appreciate the hotel for advertising it as capsule, they could very well advertised it as a budget hotel and charged more).
Entering your own private room, especially after a long day of walking and being tired, you could totally appreciate the privacy and tall room space, which capsules do not offer. I think I showered at cubicle 7 or 8. Everything still look the same in 2022. All in all, I'm happy Pocket is still around and I would definitely visit again.
Me watching the entire video then realizing I already saw it 😍….love your videos!! They’re super relaxing.
Awesome videos! Can’t wait to see you grow my friend. Keep up the hard work. Stay safe and god bless. Just binged your videos. Super informative and gave me good tips to take my first trip to Japan and where to stay. Keep up the amazing work. ❤️😊

hi thank you for sharing these fun videos of Japan. i love Japanese food and culture and want to come visit your country one day.
Excellent videos of hotels near tourist attractions. I'm doing research for my first trip to Japan🤞 Keep those videos coming.
that little BBQ grill place is awesome. You are my favorite Japan travel Channel
So peaceful
Please, keep us updated on this tourism and visiting Japan. Japan like a new advanced planet...✌️😆

Hello? 😃 Interesting capsules hotel and nice tour 👏🏻👏🏻 Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful day 😊
Thank you! You too!
That's a funny looking watch you got there.
AMAZING
Neat!
I am dying to use that Orange Rose body wash and shampoo. I bet it smells wonderful in the shower.
I like the Capsule idea but need the bathroom in same room Just easier to get up, 'go', then jump right back into bed, without leaving the room .
To small video make longer maybe 30 minutes I want see more ❤️
Thanks for your request!
I heard Ray Parker Jr singing Ghostbusters!
The hotel is very clean.
16 bucks and so big and clean i would move in i need to take a trip to japan some day it seems like a wounderfull place
I like this one.
That's beautiful country I want to see Japan ❤️❤️❤️
This channel is underrated
Japan knew how to working organized by spaces...every spaces is valuable for purposes...👍
Wow check out at 12pm so convenient
If I go I think I will just sleep all day and eat my noodles when I awake.
Id love to try a stay in this place.
$16.00 a night? Unreal! 😮 it's so much more than you would expected. Wall art, a window, amenities, an AC unit....for $16.00 a night. I live in the wrong place! Thank you for letting us tag along!
Japanese citizen are so respectful to maintain cleanliness in bathroom. Look at our Walmart in Oregon and Duluth, MN? OMG, so dirty...
It's too fascinating to have a regular system everywhere in Japan. Cars, hotel rooms, streets, buildings etc. are being produced for needs people's can have. Streets are too clean, hotel rooms are sized enough. In public places, there are everything for people. What a country to live.
No way you went to bed straight after eating dinner!! Lol anyway, love your videos!
The video is very well produced and useful. I booked this hotel after watching your video! May I know where we can get fresh bath towel after we have used it for shower?
Love Japan ♥️
I can't wait until Japan fully opens to U.S. tourists.
I concur with many of the positive comments in this section. Please leave the caption text on the screen a little longer. It disappears much too fast and I have to keep going back and rewatching to get the visuals and the text in.
Everywhere you go, it's about cleanliness...no graffiti and garbages all over ...
10:55 Dani California was not a song I was expecting to hear!
Nice
Thanks
@12:11 man that's cool it's half Japanese half English!
Oh, so there is public bathroom. Wow! What is another quest going to bathroom and shower at same time?
Interesting. Not bad if you don't have a claustraphobic problem.
I have stayed in this hotel. Pros: Close to nishiki market and train station
They provide clothes and area is tidy in general
They allow you to leave the luggage pre checkin and after leaving hotel
Cons: Very small rooms, cant even open luggage
Can be noisy as the walls are paperthin
Are there bed big issues in these hotels in Japan like there are in hotels all over the USA?
snowing in august?
I noticed the breakfast instructions in English. Are all other instructions available in English ? Is a stay by an English only Patron doable ?
This location is close to transportation?
😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Fun place to stay! Is the water not drinkable most places?
Water in most hotels in Japan is drinkable.
Kind of like a minimum security prison.
Does the door lock in these? I've seen videos of the other capsule hotels and I don't know if I could do it but if I can stand up in the room and have just a tiny bit of foot space that changes everything
The capsule's door is lockable in this hotel.
How are these prices possible?
Seriously. How can the owners be making any profit?
🇺🇸
before i finish the video im american and i think stand up height is cool very cool
Does the window open to get fresh air or is it permanently closed??
0:20 When did you film this because the weather looks cold?
Where else do you use a hair dryer if not the restroom??
I think the restroom and the shower area were in two completely different rooms. It makes more sense to have the hair dryer in the shower area. In the restroom there isn't any way to get your hair wet. . . unless you wash it in the sink.
so, how did the ramen taste? did you enjoy the new flavour?
So good
Do they smell nice?
Do they offer long term stay? Like a month or longer?
you can choose up to 30 nights but atm they are fully packed
Why is there no-one else in the hotels?
so quiet and where are all the people at the hotel? lol...
Is any of the instructions in English? Or is they a way to translate it if you can't read japanese? I wish I know japanese and a few other languages but sadly I'm barley able to keep up with English lol 😅
There are a lot of Japanese, English, Korean and Chinese instructions.
Ps let us know which website able to book this hotel online ?

I WISH THE WHOLE WORLD WAS LIKE JAPAN, clean, quiet, polite and tolerant. Unlike our shitty home here... 35 degree N. latitude and 120 parallel West ...nonetheless thanks for posting, I enjoyed it.
How do YOU make your shitty home a better place?
@@thesweeples3266 Impossible now , our leaders are war mongers and love to dominated oppress other countries. e.g Iraq , Afghanistan , Somalia , Panama , Kosova , Serbia etc....We are led my obtuse power hungry dogs.
How much a night?
10:50 RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS!!!
SHAR MIN AUNG (JAPAN)
Here’s the only thing holding me back I only slightly know Japanese culture from anime but the knowledge is gone again the question is do I need to learn the culture before going and second is there English for all the signs and stuff it’s ok if they don’t speak English but hopefully there’s good signage
16 usd a night thats like 20 canadian just guessing lol cool
Seems a bit strange that everyone accepts that the food is sitting out on uncovered platters waiting for someone to buy it but then they all wear masks because they are so worried about germs…
Agree!!
... where are you SUPPOSED to use a hairdryer if not the bathroom?!
The thing is I do not understand their money ...✌️😆
No 15 $ ....55 $ !! 😀
What makes it completely private? 🤔
It is to be able to lock the room. Usually, capsule hotels in Japan do not have locks on the rooms.
Have you ever encountered paranormal activity while staying alone in hotel? Just curious 🤣
it's crazy they can charge 200Y for this. How are they making money?
Hiroshima
Nagasaki
Shooting too fast just made me dizzy
Hahah i saw your comment on "who uses a hair dryer in the restroom?" Well that is normal for Americans so maybe they are trying to be more "american"??? But yeah thats standard for us over here in the US
why don't people just live here though? It's a tenth of rent
Who uses a hair dryer in the bathroom? Millions of people.
