Came home from Viet Nam in l968 and my special treat was to buy the Buddy Rich Record the New One in the Army P X. We had an old hi fi in the Orderly Room. Any way I played this phenomenal record on the Pacific Jazz Label and believe you me it was an inspiration in Jazz for me. thank you for playing this fine fine super fine slection of Buddys band. many thanks and then again Music Like this will always last .
i think this one will always stand as the best version its just flawless and gogeous in every way..gotta love the drum/bass fill (on the album version the bass is too far down in the mix to hear so i never knew till the cd that the bass player was playing almost juxtopositionally against buddy or vice vera just well it could make you cry..thats what buddy always said music is about pure and real emotion..well just listen to that break and youll instantly "get what he was saying" btw buddy claimed he didnt like this set it was btw a set of fibes not rogers
