I watched 3 "review" videos on this light .....this is by far the shortest, most to the point and had better info than most of the others....notifications on ....big fan of your channel! Keep them coming!
@@GripTips I'm always struggling to shorten my videos and what I love most about your channel is you get to the point and deliver the goods....i think I watched most of yours by now. Good stuff.
USB charging port would have been nice. The charging indicator instead of pulses should just use colors (red, orange, yellow, green). and ooo the 3 second delay when it turns on is new info for me!
I'm so happy these finally are out! Will make working with practicals so much easier. I do agree that it would be sweet if flipping on in AC mode was instantaneous for those specific situations where it matters. Maybe they can implement a "listen for AC power" trigger option when in DC mode to get that instant on when the light is being switched on. Aputure, you listening?
Thank you for the quick overview! Only being able to charge it with a socket seems pretty inconvenient.. (ordered a couple of them anyways and the charging kit will be pre ordered as soon as possible. Still, USB-C would have been nice 🤷♂️)
OffToNewAdventures from what I saw when when Ted announced the release , in the commercial it looks like they just drop into the hard shell case they’re coming out with. I know nothing about it but that’s the vibe I get
Hmm that 2 second delay in AC mode might be changing my mind on getting these to truly be used as practicals. For example, a scene where the actor flips a switch on a lamp. These still look super promising though...
@@GripTips I wonder if they'd be able to update it later on to maybe work that way in stand by mode? I mean, I've done gags like that in the past so maybe just some minor ptsd of continually trying to get the timing just right haha
@@GripTips So when you do the cue with Sidus is there still a 3 second delay or is it only when you switch the lamp on manually as you did in the video? Cheers.
Carlos Melville only like I did in the video. With Sidus there’s like idk. Maybe a quarter second delay. So you COULD wait for the actor to flip a switch and I doubt anyone would notice if you were in the shadows triggering it.
If the lamp is plugged in, yes. If not, no. But it reacts better in AC mode. In DC mode, when the lamp is turned off, you get a small flash and then the light goes out
Oh, so NOW you turn your comments on! Too late! My hilarious repartee has been used elsewhere. But let me get this straight - you're saying that a light much like the kind we used at our childhood parties to liven up an otherwise-dull cake and Kool-Aid get-together is NOT for children??? Yes, I see why YooToob had your comments turned off. Okay. For real, it's not a bad light.

Thanks man! I appreciate that. I’ve actually watched a couple of yours as well. Keep it going!

Haha, glad I could help...again!
Good stuff

@@GripTips thanks for the reply Dave, will definitely get some when they launch.
In dc mode can the light be turned on and off by turning off and on the lamp? Or is that only in AC mode?

Would your get the b7c kit first or the mc 11 kit first? Which one produces a more powerful light source ? I do music videos
I use the MC’s quite a bit over the B7c’s
@@GripTips thanks
Wait. No more green screen awesome sauce? Just.. A regular "youtube setup"?
