I really like your relaxed view on watches and how you styled your outfits around them. I agree watches should be fun and fit you, not someone else's opinion on what a watch should be. Been following this channel for a while now and have gotten many styling tips over the years. This is one of the best, no nonsense, no jumping around shouting 'hey guys', trash talking others, channel for men's style. Keep up the great work!
@@hespokestyle Which of your watches do you perceive as 'fun'? There is no lume dialed Sinn, Quartz Tuna, ceramic Omega, iced out Rolex, Orange Doxa of anything out there and fun i have seen. Looking forward to your answer.
Those watches don't speak to me. Watches should reflect your personality -- as I stated in the video which you may not have watched -- and as I also stated, my style is classic with a modern sensibility so I choose watches that make me happy and that match my style. We have different ideas about what a "fun" watch is. Seems like you're also proving my thesis.
Good to see you back! Also, I love the more cheeky script and delivery. It doesn’t take away from your eloquence at all, and adds a potent punch of personality.
Just returned from 2 weeks in Italy & I'm convinced Italian men are some of the coolest, most elegant men on the planet. Linen trousers/shirts, blazers, fine knits AND the sockless look to perfection 🥰 - loved all the watches & your styling of them 😘🤌 bravo 👏
I love your thumbnail and your caption! As a watch channel and fellow enthusiasts, I do agree with how the watch community can be very very condescending and brutal with comments and tear people down. Thanks for making an awesome and fun video featuring the nomos and pairing it with men’s style. Love your channel and your style, been following it for years. 😊
Love and missed your outfit videos! Nomos watches are so fun! I love the orange dial one best. I’ve been eyeing an orange Club Campus for awhile now. I also like your sock less look. The only rule I like to follow about going sock less is to also go without a necktie.
I just stumbled upon your channel randomly and subscribed after watching this. I’ve always been into dressing well but I am not a fan of the pretentiousness that sometimes follow it. You’re really refreshing!
It's funny, I had on a version of outfit one a few weeks ago at a family gathering. White Ralph Lauren tee instead, under a plum plaid sport coat, blue trousers and triple white Koio Capris. I love the not so snobbish watch content also. Keep it coming.
Man oh man have I missed your outfit videos! And like you said, perfect video combo with watches and fit inspos! Look 2 and (especially) 4 were hands down my favs from this one. Good stuff and can't wait for more!
I think you look so chic in that terra cotta suit. The color is reminiscent of those gorgeous terra cotta roof tiles in Florence, Italy, or perhaps the rusty red ferrousness of Sedona, Arizona red rocks. It is so earthy and warm and rustic in its color, it's so different than the traditional suit colors. The texture of the fabric is so breezy and woven, which is such a contrast to smoothness and prim perfection of a silk suit. The suit fabric is porous and wants to breathe because it is a breath of fresh air and represents breathing in all of glorious summer, of breathing while being relaxed... The t-shirt in its white color is fresh and casual and it goes so well with the light color suede sneakers. The absence of a collar adds to the relaxation vibe. Of course you put it all together with your impeccable grooming, the skin care, your wellness rituals of exercise and diet, and the accessories like the watch and the sunglasses. A plus Brian Sacawa!
I was going to come down here and comment on the no socks so that we could start a movement, but in full truth I thought the way you did it was great and I like the effort.
Brian good to have you back and love your take on watches - very relatable. Nomos was my first serious watch 9 years ago and boy have I fallen down the rabbit hole: just treated myself to a Patek 5070g to commemorate my upcoming 50th lap around the sun. I have to catch myself taking the hobby a bit too seriously and when I do that’s what gets me back into that headspace that made this fun to begin with. Thanks for what you do - really refreshing content as always.
I can’t remember which RUclipsr said it. But it’s always stuck with me. Buy what you like, the only person who cares what is on your wrist is you. You are right, there is a lot of judgement and snobbery in watches. My modest collection is built up of mainly affordable items and the most worn ones are £200 and below.
Facts. A few years ago I sported a $50 invicta submariner. I got so many compliments on it, even one or two genuine ones from watch snobs who knew exactly what they were looking at but appreciated the appearance of it. Very few people could appreciate genuine timepieces other than a small circle of people
I was blessed to find your channel which has been a tremendous help. Very informative and entertaining at the same time. From your other videos, I noticed you recommending the slim type (not skinny) when it comes to jeans. But here you mention that you've been enjoying a little more of a looser fit when referring to the 501. I have two questions. 1) Is the 501 a regular fit then? 2) Do you like a looser fit because you think they are better now, or is it just a change in personal preference?
I love your principles! Alot of the ppl in the watch community need to see this video! Alot of men in the watch community are very snobby they think they know it all!

Having collected watches for almost 20 years. I have always strived to understand why someone loves certain watches. If it’s a flex. Fine. That’s nice for them. Not for me. But if it’s as something as small as loving the way the indices looks in low level restaurant lighting? Then I can get behind the weirdness. Also, I don’t need to love everything. They all cater to their own segments. I cant and won’t want to own all but I can appreciate them and love them for those who enjoy them.
Brian, I would love to see a video where you tackle your favorite fabric mills and their respective collections (e.g. Huddersfield Fresco III, Holland & Sherry Intercity, etc).
Haha I was impressed when I first noticed your A Lange a long while ago! NOMOS makes some nice watches (the Club line is gorgeous), but the only downside for me is their long lugs. But of course that's just personal preference.
Very good video. The watches are very nice, but what I think I appreciated more were the ‘grown up casual’ outfits. I always love your suit videos, but I probably find your casual outfit videos to be more helpful. Thanks, Brian.
I rock a 30+ year old Fossil in silver. I always wanted an identical one in gold to match other accessories. Well, 2 years ago while Christmas shopping I found one at a Macy's of all places. 😊
I appreciate your perspective on watches and attire. While I do have a fondness for watches, I've been grappling with a dilemma. I'm hesitant about wearing an expensive watch on my wrist daily, given the risk of exposure to potential damage. It feels a bit ostentatious to showcase a luxurious watch constantly. After careful consideration, I've decided to part ways with my two watches and invest in an antique refurbished pocket watch instead. I find the idea of a chain hanging intriguing, and the classic, stylish nature of a pocket watch appeals to me greatly. With it safely tucked in my pocket, my watch will remain secure and protected. Plus, I can purchase an amazing pocket watch in excellent condition for less than $1,000.
Very cool about the pocket watch. To your original concern, wearing a watch is a lot like style in that you've got to be comfortable and confident. If you're not that will show so good for you for recognizing that and doing what works for you.
I hate the snobbery too, especially about homages and watches with homage vibes. As long as it’s not a fake then it’s ok in my book. I may disagree with what someone else thinks looks but that’s no reason to make them feel bad for their choice of watch.
What is funny is that, when you're pationnate about something, you should strive to make people understand why you love it, why it is important to you and maybe to them, and broaden or even deepen others about this new piece of knowledge. And if they prefer to stick to a casual approach, noob opinion or simply are too blinded by the vast world you try to open the lid for them, just be patient and respect their stance. It may change in due time, or not and that's fine too. But at the very least, they'll see you as the "geek of this/that".

When it comes to watches, I literally just wear whatever looks good. As long as it tells time, is comfortable and looks good, it checks all the boxes. Yes, there are some super shitty watches that have 59 sec minutes, and thus do not meet the “tells time” factor, but for the most part they’re all good. Wear whatever you like as long as it’s not a damn smartwatch with a tux.
I love nomos for this reason. It spits in the face of conventional watches (boring, dull, lack of perepnality, something only a 90 year old man would wear)
I think most people do have fun with watches and it’s just a noisy minority within the community. It’s probably due to most mechanical watches being a relatively expensive purchases, value retention of certain brands/models, and the rise of the watch “investor”/speculator. I think that’ll quiet down a bit with the market settling, but it’ll always be there to some extent since watch enthusiasts are sticklers for details and can talk about the most minute details. I love that Terra cotta suit combination too!
I am 19 and am trying to save most of my money. The watches i could afford are fossil, but hopefully, someday, i will be able to afford better and cooler watches
You can actually use a smart watch and collect health information. If not then a cheap seikor or timex will do, but there is no reason to wear something expensive that will be a target for thieves.
A thoroughly shameless sales pitch of a watch that costs over 2k and doesn't even have position on the crown to change the date, and that flat, printed dial is pathetic at that price. And Nomos celebrating 175 years of watchmaking when they're only a few decades old is disgraceful..
