AGAIN, the major story from a Tech perspective isn’t being Tech heavily linked to Beck (he will go to Miami), it’s that the Red Raiders are associated with him and that means they are seemingly in the starting QB market in the portal
Behren is and has been ultimately unreliable. The sports media won't tell you that he's actually almost as good as nepobaby sanders. But unfortunately, that guy isn't nearly as good as you've been lead to believe by said media. So, if we can get a better guy, then by all means. I do think it ultimately would suck if behren got replaced in his last season, but thems the ropes. That's the game. I think it's a better idea to save Hammond another year and develop him more. Great quarterbacks usually don't get to play as much as Morton has. And mind you, none of this matters if our receivers are just shit. Or the other parts of the team don't do their job. Mahomes could come back and we'd still suck.

Maybe it’s a pretty big surgery and recovery by august isn’t feasible, so now they get a starter and let Morton rehab for all of 2025 and request a medical year? Can he do that or does the injury need to be in the same season?

I don’t think beck is that great. I think he’s like the Alabama QB’s, and old school USC QB’s. Surrounded by talent and they were elevated by that talent. Not a guy that elevates the guys around him.

I don't think there was any truth to this rumor. Sounds to me like Beck's agent was just using Tech (who is known to have spent a bunch of money in this transfer cycle) to drive up the price at Miami. I personally don't think there is a QB in the portal, Beck included, that is a significant upgrade to Morton.

Morton hasn't been fully healthy since his first appearance. You could tell this past season his throwing mechanics were off and whiffed on some throws that could've been huge. Good kid with some bad luck, but I feel like even at 100% healthy, he isn't a game changer. Morton is a solid QB that can run an offense at a high level, but doesn't have that next level wow factor. If we have have the ability to grab a QB that can take a game into his own hands and deliver, now is the time to do it.

Yeah I'm not sure about this. Morton knows his teammates but he's suseptical to injuries. Beck injury issues too. We need a QB 100 % ready. Hammond I like his energy but inexperienced. I can say it'll be interesting
What happens when Morton chose an NFL recommendation over playing in the Liberty Bowl. My hope is that Tech sends a message to Morton that the QB position must be earned.
