I don’t know where people get the idea that “most” people think this way. From a Western cultural context, it’s cultural to push hard work, busyness and burnout is a big issue in Western culture. So, exactly where does this notion that people think success is easy to accomplish or purely overnight. If they think that way, they must not be paying attention to much of what’s being said in Western culture, or people are just regurgitating the typical or cliche notions they see online as normative.

I've bought 2 homes and sold 1 as a homeowner and never likes a go-getter attitude in agents. I found it overwhelming and unreliable.
What I valued a lot is good communication and following through. When I sensed that a realtor was genuine and honest with me then we had a bond.
Now I myself thinking about getting into real estate.
Everyone keeps putting pressure on a person. You've got to be this and you've got to be that.
I say what works for me every time:
*"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."*
God Bless and all the best to you all.

My mother was a realtor, so I've seen it first hand. I used to hang out in her office as a teen. Plus I ran a traveling notary business for refinanced home loans. For me personally, I’m hard-working, happy, patient, and passionate ONLY when I love what I do. Don’t just count yourself out as lazy or unenthused unless you possess those traits even while doing something you love/your passion. Unfortunately Real estate schools don’t discuss how personalities play a major role in the rise or fall of Real Estate Agents vs other careers or endeavors. I would add "emotional" to this list. You have to grit your teeth and put your emotions aside, because clients will throw a whole lot your way, even if you aren't the person they are angry or frustrated with. You have to be the one to take emotion out of the equation or the sale could be affected.

This is the same as an application when applying for a job. They always want to pick out those that they don’t think are capable of doing the job. Instead of not thinking you can’t do something, show yourself you can. Anyone can be a diy, anyone can be lazy at times. If you have a dream and passion tho, I see anything happening. I see where you are coming from and I get your view, you have to want it bad.
The way to make it honesty in the “REAL ESTATE” is to be confident and have a lot of friends with big word of mouth and of course yourself. It’s about being trustworthy, knowing what you sell and being confident and being able to sell and change peoples mind. You have to know how to build friendship as well. Real estate is more then selling property, it’s about making friendship and about having others believe in you when making their first or other purchase in their investment.
I’m very thankful I came across this video, as my mother had influenced me with how she was once a Real Estate agent and now a tax preparer. Happy sat

In my view most real estate professions that I have monitored by going out and viewing apartments are lazy. They open the door and are like "here it is" and they stand in the corner on the cellphone while I look around and then ask me "do you like the unit because if not I have others". Say if I did in NYC why the heck am I going to pay you a $3500 commission when you're not really interested in the sales process only want to collect the money because I am required to use you to mediate with the landlord. Competition is needed.

Unfortunately I am all these things. I recently passed my real estate test, and I am just coming to grips with what I signed up for. I already don't have much money and I already owe $3000+ just setting myself up. Had I watched this video 3 years ago, I probably wouldn't have become an agent. But the problem is I already was like this BEFORE becoming an agent. If I chose a different career it would only be the same result. I'm a coward on top of all the things mentioned in this list. So why do I keep going? The reason is because this real estate career is the FIRST thing I've ever done where bs'ing couldn't solve my problems. It's the first thing that I've worked hard for. I failed the test 4 times and each time it cost me money, time, and willpower. The feeling I felt when I passed was unlike anything I've ever felt. I really can't explain it, it goes beyond words, for the first time in my life I didn't feel like a loser or a side character in my life. I felt like Uzui when he fought Gyutaro, All Might when he fought All for One. THAT feeling. And I want more. I want to overcome these five things and so I will continue on, I want to be greater than I am right now and the only way to do that is to do the things that terrify me.
Sorry for ranting, but I needed to tell myself that.

I just decided today that real estate might be my journey. After years of watching hgtv. After years of trying to find a career that is self driven based , dealing with small crowds or one on one, something where I'm my own boss ( at the same time not the boss of others), and involving something I'm interested in. I am also passionate about finding outfits that aren't advertised like something you'd see on a tv show. I'm always able to follow strict criteria and price point. I know I'd be able to find the right house for everyone. I'm excited about learning more before making a final decision to enroll to get my liscense.

Hi! I am currently taking the Real estate course in the state of Florida. With the real estate express. To tell you the truth, I’m a little nervous about learning something new, but I’m excited. I think it’s because English is my second language. I’m Pretty confident to become a real estate agent. In 2010, I opened a licensed family day care home. I like the idea of working on my schedule and with the opportunity to make as much money as I wanted. I will need a lot of training. I am looking for a coaching and mentoring.
